I am requesting the immediate release of my vehicle without payment for any unauthorized repairs. The repair shop has admitted they have no proof that I or anyone else authorized the work, yet they are refusing to return my car. I was never contacted for approval before repairs were started. Since I did not consent to these charges, I should not be required to pay. I also request that any fraudulent charges be removed from my account, and that this matter be resolved as soon as possible.

    Complaint: 23014656

I am rejecting this response because:
In their letter, the shop claims that my brother authorized an additional 4 hours of diagnostic work and approved further repairs. This is not true. We only authorized the initial diagnostic fee of $165. To support my claim, I have attached the video the shop's manager sent me from her personal email of my brother "authorizing repairs" and I also have a screen recording of me opening the email and playing the video through the app CapCut to prove the authenticity of the video. From the video they sent me, you will see my brother did not approve of any work being done. Since we never authorized any additional repairs or diagnostics, we are only willing to pay the original $165 diagnostic fee. We will not pay for the mechanical lien fees or any other additional fees and charges. Please let me know how you would like to proceed.
    Sincerely,

AS ******* ********** STATED ON THE LAST REPLY , I DID SEND HER AN EMAIL OF PHONE CALL RECORDING SERVICE ADVISOR HAD WITH J.J ********** ON DECEMBER 18TH 2024; WHICH SHOWS J.J ********** AWARE OF THE ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSTIC TIME AND DISCUSSING THE DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS WITH SERVICE ADVISOR.

    Complaint: 23014656

I am rejecting this response because:
The work order only shows the diagnostic. There is still no signature or written authorization from me or anyone else approving any additional work. Being informed of the issues does not equate to authorizing repairs. From the photo that was sent, It seems that the work order shows no indication that any repairs were performed only findings and recommendations. So once again I am only willing to pay the $165 diagnostic fee and I do not agree to pay anything else.

Timeline covers 18+ months. I knew Bobby Likis and over many years his garage earned my trust and business. I went to his garage with engine problems and was told his shop is under new ownership. I gave the new owners the benefit of doubt as they retained the Bobby Likis name. How wrong I was. I paid invoices totaling over $3,500.00 and my check engine light is still on. They start by telling you they need to do a diagnosis for $160. If you agree they get your keys and they know you're stuck. In my case they came back to ask for another diagnosis hour and another $160. Then they tell you the problem and charge $3,500. I paid it and on the drive home the engine light came on. They tell you to come back. You're vested and compelled to return. I needed the engine light problem fixed. I continued to believe they could fix the problem until I received a diagnosis to replace my engine control module for $1,500. I decided to seek a second opinion from Pete Moore Chevy. They told me Likis installed a bad catalytic converter and have them correct it. I took it to Likis and they decided without my approval replace two O2 sensors and had yet another bill for me. I was furious but after talking with the owner Alex we agreed if the repair fixed the engine light problem I would pay for the service. On my way home, the engine light came on! I since saw a Channel 3 ABC story about 60+ other customers having problems with Likis. I'd like to add my name to the list. Once you give them the keys to your car you become a victim and at their mercy to fix your vehicle. I agreed to and paid for services that did not fix the problem. They got you as they know you have to come back for more work. I believe they simple reset the codes that only turn the light off for a short period of time. I'd like reimbursement for all the invoices they charged for work that was misdiagnosed.

    Hello,

I spoke to customer in regards to his problems about catalytic converter . That is the only problem on the car right now . Engine light is on. All the other issue are fixed . Car is running fine but engine light is keep coming back.

Last time when he was here (Mid January 2025 ) we installed 2 oxygen sensor at no charge and let him drive the car for few days and than recheck it .

I spoke to customer same day since engine light came back on and I invited customer to come back for further diagnostic . Customer did not come back as of yet since he has family member with health issues .

Problem we are facing that Isuzu is discontinued and we can't not find original parts . We are at mercy of after market  part parts and sensors . Original parts are not available. All parts and labor have warranty.

Today 02-03-25, I spoke to customer and Invited him to come again to the shop and we will do diagnostic for free and if any of the parts Are defective we will replace it for no charge .

Customer mentioned that he has family matters and he will call me back to schedule appointment and we will do our best to resolve the issue . Customer also has my cell number to reach out to me .

    Thanks

I am rejecting this response because:  a lot of money has been spent and the problem (engine light) is still on.  I appreciate the good faith response and offer by Bobby Likis.  I look forward to working with them to finally resolve this.  If I understand their commitment (response) to my complaint, they will fix the problem at no additional cost. If that happens I will be happy to close this out.

    Sincerely,

On January 21 I had my 2015 Volkswagen bug towed to Bobby likis auto shop and on Thursday January 23 I went in to get my car and refuse service because their were trying to overcharge me $700 to change my battery since I’m a young women. They then proceeded to charge me 200 to take my car. The lady working lowered it to 102 in the end. Just to take my car home.

On February 16th 2024 I paid Bobby Likis Auto Service over $4,901.21 to fix my heating and AC on my 2005 Sprinter. The defrost never worked. I took it back 4 times. The first time they kept the vehicle for over a month waiting on the "AC control module." I picked it up cause I needed my vehicle and found the #1 cylinder tapping with 3 missing bots and 3 lose bolts on the top of the engine. I was told to bring it back and they would fix it right away. Instead they blamed the leaking fuel injector on the #1 cylinder on the shop that worked on my van previously. I had it towed to Mac's Auto where they fixed the #1 cylinder fuel injector. Bobby Likis still never fixed my defrost and my AC quit working about 3 weeks ago. Both of which they gave me a 1 year warranty on. They tried to make me buy a new AC control module saying the used one they installed didn't work. I never agreed to put anything used in my van for a 4000 dollar repair. Eventually they agreed to fix it with a new AC control module but I moved to Nashville. I brought my vehicle back to have this AC control module installed after waiting 4 months for it and they told me it was not there. I drove 7 hours to have them fix my AC that I already paid for. I was very mad to say the least. I was told it would be the 15th before they would have the part that I drove 7 hours to have them install. They called me later, told me they cancelled my order and would call the police on me if I came back. My crime was almost breaking their door when I left their horrible little shop. This is absolutely unacceptable! They stole from me. Theft of services! I would like them to refund all my money plus the money for the tow and the cost of me paying another shop to do the work. I attached a file of what I paid the other shop as well. I really think this company is criminal in their behavior.

I authorized a scan and diagnoses for a check engine light, P1700 needs to be reflashed. The shop verified that they had the necessary equipment to repair a smart car. They removed the transmission, inserted a rebuilt one and held my vehicle hostage until $9645.18 was paid in cash or cashiers check. I then found out they installed a rebuilt transmission with 40K miles! My Smart car is still not fixed. Now after charging $9646.18 your shop did not fix the problem and I still have a flashing D light on my dash as well as a new wrench indicator light. Your shop told me to take it to the dealership for programming. That is exactly why I brought my car to your shop in the first place, you said you could reprogram it! My car was at least dependable before I brought it to your place of business. My car is still not fixed. One dash light on upon entering your business and now two dash lights on departing your business. I will NOT recommend you or your shop to anyone and you can take that to the bank.

On Nov. 1st 2023 Bobby Likis Auto Service gave me an estimate to replace an engine in a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder. They replaced it with a faulty engine and because it was under warranty they said they would replace it. That was approximately November 28, 2023. The car has been parked at their location since then. Today is January 18, 2024. They have provided no compensation for the grave inconvenience this has caused. I inquired about a refund because the Nissan dealer agreed to replace it with a brand new engine for 13,000. Bobby Likis refused and reported the new engine would be in soon. Apparently, they received another damaged engine and returned it, but I’m pretty sure that wasn’t the truth. I was trying to help my daughter and her family by having their car fixed. Her and her husband work full time and provide for their three children. This ordeal has gone on far too long and I’d hate for other families to have to go through this. This business takes advantage of hard working people and refuses to compensate for their mistakes. I feel sure they have also been dishonest in their dealings because we’ve been told different information depending on which service rep we spoke to. Thank you for any assistance you can provide in reaching an acceptable resolution.

    Customer Answer

    Complaint: 21163488

I am rejecting this response because:

The “replacement” engine broke down within two days after picking up the vehicle.  We had to spend  nearly three thousand dollars additional with Sandy Sansing Nissan to get the car running correctly again, work that Sansing said should have been included with the engine replacement.  We went to Sansing after the Bobby Likis manager told us our “three year warranty was used to replace the first engine and the second engine only has a six month, parts only warranty.”  They refused to provide any evidence of the warranty.  They also refused to repair damage to the car that was done while it sat on their lot for over a month.  A substantial narrative of this ordeal has been sent to the BBB representative handling this complaint, and can be provided again if necessary.

    Sincerely,

    Karen *******

The date of transaction was December 28th 2023. I was seeking a possible repair for my VVT Solenoid and an engine degrease. Car was turned in working and fully drivable with minor hiccups in high revs I was looking for a solution to that and was unsure if my diagnosis was correct or not. They held my car for 2 weeks and eventually told me that the cars ECU may be causing the problems and I had to explain to the tech that resetting my ECU could blow my engine and risk me losing the car and explained what I wanted them to do in detail, replace VVT solenoid if need be and diagnose my VVT phasers while replacing the solenoid. They quoted me 2913.88 as the charge for that and I accepted thinking the job would turn some answers and or fix the issues with the car. I get a call a couple days later saying the work was completed and they are having further issues with the car and promptly hung up on me. After a few days of waiting anxiously I got a call saying that my car's engine had low compression on cylinder one (new issue my compression was tested by another shop a couple weeks prior and was entirely good with no issues) they then told me I could pick up the car or have them replace the engine with a used one and of course still charging me for the parts and labour even though they were responsible for the damages. They than offered me a free oil change worth up to $75 after sending the owner a few text exchanges even though they ended up completely killing my engine leaving me with at least another $7k-$9k worth of damages. If the tech would have told me he wasn't capable of doing the work, I would have taken it to another shop versus having my car held hostage for a couple weeks to then realize they completely destroyed my engine. The time frame of this was between Dec 15th and Dec 28th and it was for a 2019 Toyota 86 with 40656 miles on the car.

Please see attachment of many problems with this car and look at diagnostic paper work and customer concerns . Customer was well aware of issue, he was trying  to fix problems for months without success and even he mentioned that they race cars . Customer was discussed about failures of the engine and we recommend to replace the engine but he decline and wanted to stop oil leaks only from solenoids and thats what we did per his request .Customer also mentioned that he moving or going  out of town and he will replace engine nowhere else . For now I just want to stop oil leaks from solenoids , His words . Nothing is wrong with job we did .

Had verbal estimate of transmission replacement in my 2003 H2 and when called to pick vehicle was one thousand dollars more than estimate. Also when putting my vehicle in the shop rear window was broken out and was told to call my insurance company to replace, well my deductible was one thousand dollars so that didn't work. Asked if they would replace my window since it was broke in there shop was told no.They taped up rear window took my $3300.00 for bill and sent me on my way.No not happy with the way this shop treated me and when I came to pick up vehicle it was completely out of gas had to have a gallon added to get to gas station.

Customer left his vehicle at the shop , for 2 months, since he could not afford to pay  previously authorized job. After multiple calls he finally came to pick it up. At that time rear windshield was cracked. Car was here on the rear parking lot for 2 months . We can not be responsible for any damages on parking lots or damage by weather conditions or vandalism. Thats why we all have insurance on the car to protect us from uncertainty.

I went to Bobby linkis Automotive to have transmission work done I spoke with the attendant Justin when in the shop I told him that the passenger side door should not be open the window was taped up .After that we did our conversation on the phone. We talked about flush jobs but he told me the price and I said no and he adding on to the invoice we also talked about a finance company which he found for me for the $6000 that he said my bill would be in the finance company turned out to be something that I could not afford which is something else I need to talk about on the another complaint. When I went to go get my car the passenger window was down they removed all the tape Justin said that they put all the cars inside at night I asked why did they open the door he could not tell me he even told me after I said I asked for the door not to be opened that he has a lot of cars and he didn’t even see my car when I came in but he went out to get the vin number from the car .because the window was left open the car got wet inside. The seat has molded on it and the floorboard was wet and he only offered was to wipe the seat off .
