Was a new home that we had purchased as our first home nothing but issues from day one from the dishwasher flooding the kitchen as well as the sewer backing up into the house along with a bunch of cosmetic issues that just keep on breaking time after time just seems like the house was poorly built, and They could care less about it seems like it’s not a concern for them to get someone out to fix things. I always have to call back in to get someone to come out to fix something. The driveway is a complete loss at this point seems like it’s a bunch of washout underneath my concrete driveway and every time they come out, they say they can’t find the issue. It just seems like they could care less about fixing the things at this time and are waiting for the day of my one year warranty, decides to be up so they don’t have to listen to my problems anymore.Business Response

Mr. ********* closed on his home on 6/24/24. We provided ample opportunity for professional home inspections and also two separate "Walk Thrus" of the home with Buyer. At the first walk thru, it was noted that the dishwasher had not been installed. One week later, on 6/24/24, the dishwasher was noted as installed. Mr. ********* signed off to confirm that the dishwasher was in fact now installed and that "we do accept the home at the address listed above as is". No exceptions to this statement were noted.
Because a home is a complex system made up of multiple complex subsystems, we provide a 1-year Workmanship warranty as well as extended warranty on major household systems (2 and 10 year warranty periods).
On 6/27 ********* reported that the dishwasher would trip the breaker when attempting to use. Electricians reviewed next day and thought it to be resolved. It was reported again on July 2. The dishwasher was replaced with anew one on July 8 as no one could determine the root cause and ********* refused to do a service/repair request with the manufacturer, General Electric. Sometimes even brand new things break or arrive defective; we understand that this is not a good reflection on Flynn Built and we work to the benefit of the Buyer and our reputation.
On 7/15 ********* reported a sewer backup into his tub. It was resolved that day by our Plumber. It appears that his grinder pump float/switch was "bad" (replaced it) and that there was a tripped breaker as well.
On 8/12 ********* reported a settling crack in his sheetrock, rebar visible from his slab, and a "bowed wall" above his pantry door.
Our Warranty Manager did a home visit on 8/14 to review issues noted on 8/12 and make a game plan for resolution.
On 8/15 ********* reported a noticeable sheetrock joint line in the Primary Bedroom. Not a settling crack, but an aesthetic workmanship issue. This repair was completed on 9/4. It was originally scheduled for 8/29 but appointment had to be moved to 9/4. Also on 9/4 our internal Warranty Tech painted the sheetrock repair. Tech adjusted the strike plate on *********'s front & back door that ********* noted were difficult to close without pushing hard.
On 9/12 ********* reported that his microwave had begun tripping a breaker and that some outside outlets would not work. Electrician visited and resolved on 9/13. Bad breakers replaced.
Other items resolved: Coach lights at garage door seem loose (tightened on 12/9); Back door mini-blind insert began delaminating (replaced on 12/11); Parging completed where unused j-bolt was visible at top of stem wall (12/20).
We value all of our Buyers and take their requests seriously. This is particularly true of *********'s issue with his driveway. He has reported that he believes it is hollow underneath and "flexes". There is no indication of any erosion at the sides of the driveway and no tangible evidence of any issue with the driveway or concrete. As a courtesy to our Buyer, we paid to have a section of his driveway torn out and repoured. Zero indication, with that section fully removed, that there are any issues at the driveway. In short, there is nothing there to fix and we've ripped it out and replaced it at our expense to ensure it.
It is relevant to note that ********* filed his complaint with BBB wthe same day we repoured his driveway and let him know we could find no issues.
We currently have one item open with *********. The front porch column (structural member) has a cosmetic wrap placed around it. It is not secured tightly and the wrap can spin about 1.5" .This will be remedied in short order after the Holiday break.
We have addressed all reported issues in a timely, professional manner. We absolutely care about "fixing things" and have a remarkable history of providing exceptional customer service to honor our Buyers.
These issues taken together, while no doubt causing consternation to *********, in no way indicate a defective home. We will continue to provide top tier service to Mr. ********* throughout the life of his warranty periods.
We will not be purchasing this home back as a "refund".
Mr. ********* of course reserves all of his rights under his purchase agreement and Florida law.

I met with Charity ***** at a recently completed house on Quintette Rd. October 16th. I verbally offered her 320,000.00 for the house and she seemed hesitant to pass the offer along. On October 18th she called me and told me that the broker Phillip had accepted my offer so long as I could get approved with one of your preferred lenders. I immediately set everything in motion with Jamie as recommended by Charity, and within 15 minutes of submitting the application to Thrive I was approved. I heard nothing back, so I called Charity and she was very distant during our conversation. She told me that there was another offer on the house but the people were having a hard time getting approved. She stumbled horribly over her words which led me to believe that something fishy was going on. I called their office in Pensacola and was connected to Phillip. He also told me about the other offer and how he was still waiting on their approval and was giving them more time. He kept saying that he hadn't seen my approval. I called Jamie with Thrive, and she reassured me that the approval was sent to him and Charity within 15 minutes and that she had talked to Phillip. I know this as a fact because during the first conversation with Jamie after she received my application, we were interrupted by a call from Charity to Jamie. While I was speaking to Phillip I asked to speak to an owner and he exclaimed that he was an owner. Not knowing if he was telling the truth, I took his statement with a grain of salt. Fast forward, after a few more inquiries to Charity I felt as though I was getting the run around. I enlisted the help of a realtor to contact Charity and she was told the same thing as Charity had told me. "I would have an answer by midweek." Charity even sent me a text message stating she would be contacting me soon. I sent Charity a text message at 2:37 PM Oct. 25 asking if she had heard anything. It is now 8:12 PM on Oct 26 and I have heard nothing. With the company not accepting written purchase offers as told to me by Charity and Phillip. One would think the proper way to do business with the company is to make a verbal offer, which I did as was instructed. It was accepted by the Broker with a stipulation that I met. Please keep in mind that I am and have been approved through my own lender. Nobody would go the extra mile and get another approval if the offer had not been accepted by the broker. I firmly believe that Phillip and Charity stereotyped me and I called their bluff.Business Response

FlynnBuilt is not adhering to their builder warranty and has not fixed my issues. I have emailed them multiple times with my list even their warranty specialist Bobby has came out to evaluate my issues and I have not heard back from their sub contractors messaging me or leaving me a voicemail to come by. I have had a defective window that has not been fixed, defective discolored tiles that were installed in the master shower, they installed a cracked bathtub and it leaks through which I haven't been able to use since I bought the home, the trim along my island was not squared off, my walls are bowed inward, they sent someone to recaulk my house and did even do the entire how which I pointed out was not completed in the master bed,Business Response

We have reached out to the Homeowner regarding warranty requests. There were several items that are not in fact warranty issues. The primary concern, a crack in the fiberglass tub, has been turned over the manufacturer of the unit for repair/replacement. Homeowner is on extended travel, but we have set a firm date (Oct 25) to resolve the other items upon his return.Initial Complaint

bought a new house from flynnbuilt. Spoke with them about some issues during walk thru and some items were fixed after closing. There glass was installed after closing and does not line up and scratched walls and even had there vendors gaining access to my home without permission after closing. since closing we have found numerous problems with the quality of construction of the home. we have notified Flynn built with immediate refusal of some items denying any responsibility and the other items they have not responded other than to admit they have received my request for warranty and they have not responded since. in the mean time I have found other items needing attention due to poor quality in construction. Some of these items are life Saftey hazard with exposed electrical which could harm or kill people. Other items are more cosmetic and just poor craftsman ship and from my understanding Flynn does this to most of its warranty items as I have heard from other customers. I am deeply disappointed in the quality of the work provided by flynn built and the fact that they are refusing to communicate about trying to address warranty items which are causing more damage and softy threats as I wait for them to address the issues. I am to the point of getting them fixed on my dime and suing to try and be compensated. it is ridiculous. The tile shower leaks around the poor fitting glass and the tile shower holds water and doesn't drain creating mold and mildew issues in shower. The brand new installed mirror in the master bath is chipped from installation which was done after closing. The glass vendor was the one entering the house without permission after closing this is totally unacceptable as after closing the house is no longer there's to grant permission to enter. I have numerous issues and not enough room to explain them all here and would be happy to provide more details if given room.Business Response

Homeowner communicated thru our BuilderTrend portal June 28th, not knowing that warranty is submitted directly to warranty vs the portal. This was not appropriately explained at Final Walk Thru with Homeowner.
We dropped the ball on communication with Homeowner to get these things scheduled in a more timely fashion. We understand the Homeowner's frustration and have worked quickly to resolve items.Initial Complaint

The business called BBB and explained the warranty manager who was working on this is no longer there. He called the consumer and the husband said his wife cut and pasted the issues from the final walk through and there are only two items that need to be addressed. Chris said one has been done and the other is in process.
