On July 13th, 2024, after coming home from dinner, my house felt warm. I checked the air conditioning thermostat, and it was off. I had no air conditioning. I have been with the Lindstrom Air Conditioning company for ten years and always had good service and had a service contract with them. I called for service a few times that evening and was told they could not come until Wednesday, July 17, 2024. That would be four days without air conditioning at 90 degrees and above temperatures and excessive heat weather warnings. As an 80-year-old woman, that was unacceptable. So, on the morning of July 14, I called Sansome Air Conditioning company, and they came out right away. The service call charge was $89. I still had one more maintenance service on my Lindstrom contract which was scheduled for August 7th, 2024 ( that was completed as scheduled). The Sansome charge was a total of $305 because I signed a maintenance contract with them instead of renewing it with Lindstrom. I need a company that I can rely on and not wait four days for service. I am only asking for the $89 service call charge. See the attached documents

I hired this company to take a look at my air conditioning unit, which had shut off and was not working. They said they did a full review of everything and everything including air filters, drainage they said all looked okay. After he had left a few days later, the air air conditioning went out again, so we had another company come in and take a look at the air conditioning unit which said that we needed a whole new air conditioning unit replacement. The filters hadnt been looked at the drainage hadnt been looked at just based off of what they could tell of how old everything was that nobody had touched it in a long time, I was charged $99 for the consultation from Lindstrom air conditioning yet they werent able to find any problems but two other companies that I had hired to take a look said the same problem occurred that I would need a new air conditioning unit. I have provided a copy of the invoice, picture of the filter after he looked everything over. A copy of the new invoice from the other ** company after looking at the ** unit.

Beware of Lindstrom Air Conditioning!!!When we purchased our new build house in 2021, we upgraded our AC units. It included a 10 year labor warranty from Mechanical Air on top of Carrier's parts warranty. My fault- I forgot about the labor warranty. Based on recommendations, I signed up with Lindstrom for a maintenance plan.December 2022, we needed to replace the evaporator coil. The part was covered but Lindstrom charged me $1144 for labor.Fast forward to May 2024. The evaporator coil needed to be replaced again. I had a small company come and diagnose it. He looked up our unit and saw that it was covered with parts and labor warranty from Mechanical Air. He recommended we use Mechanical Air as required by law since it would be totally covered and walked away from a big job.June 2024, we're having problems again with the same unit. Mechanical Air said I need an evaporator motor and an air purifier door. I mentioned that Lindstrom had charged me for labor in 2022 and he said it was illegal because they should have disclosed the info to me as the small company had.I spoke to Lindstrom and they are taking no responsibility for the non disclosure. The manager,******, was rude and arrogant and blamed Mechanical Air for not reminding me about the warranty.STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISHONEST COMPANY!!!

On 11/26/22 we received a request for Air Conditioning Service from *********. We offered her an appointment for $79 diagnostic fee and if she went ahead with repair we would waive the diagnostic fee and she agreed. Our technician went out and checked the system finding a faulty evaporator coil. ************** did not disclose that there was any type warranty on her equipment installation as Lindstrom Air Conditioning was not the original installer. We did check with the manufacturer Carrier's website and it did indicate the part was in warranty but no labor warranty so we did not charge for parts. We quoted the repair and replacement of the evaporator coil for labor to the amount of $1,144.15 which was agreed to and paid. ************** never indicated she had an extended labor warranty at anytime. Lindstrom Air Conditioning is not authorized and does not honor extended labor warranties purchased from the original installer Mechanical Air. Lindstrom Air Conditioning provided the expertise and labor to complete the ** repair and has made no labor claims to any third party warranty company. It is unfortunate that ************** did not remember she had an extended warranty and should have reached out to the original installer before asking us to fix it if she had any concern. Our position is that we charged a fair price for labor to make the repair and we honored the manufacturers parts warranty. There will be no refund from work done on 12/1/22.

I am rejecting this response because:
I am not saying that lindstrom was responsible for fulfilling Mechanical Airs labor warranty. I am saying that Lindstrom had the responsibility of giving me the information that the labor was covered by mechanical air- Just as the small AC company gave me the information that both labor and parts were covered. After that, I could have had the choice to use either company.
Lindstrom purposely withheld that information from me. That is why I am reporting lindstrom for their poor business practices.
      Sincerely,

      **************

      Business response

      07/09/2024

Lindstrom AC is not obligated or required to check for 3rd party labor warranties. It is entirely up the consumer to disclose if there is a labor warranty. For public relations purposes and in good faith Lindstrom will agree to refund $200.

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Lindstrom Air Conditioning and Plumbing regarding a recent service visit to my residence. My name is *************************, and I reside at ***********************************************************************************************. My contact number is ************, my email address is **************** June 13, 2023, I initiated a service contract with Lindstrom Air Conditioning and Plumbing, located at ******************************************************************************, ************, with the understanding that I would receive reliable and honest service for my **** needs.Unfortunately, on November 20, 2023, and again on March 26, 2024, Lindstrom technicians were dispatched to my home to detect a freon leak in my air conditioning system. Despite my concerns and the previous diagnosis of a leak, both technicians failed to identify any leak during their inspections. Moreover, during the initial visit on November 20, 2023, the technician did not even perform an electronic freon leak test, which is standard practice in such situations. It should be noted that my air conditioning system is only 2 years old.On March 26, 2024, despite the lack of a conclusive finding of a freon leak during both visits, I was unjustly charged $182.75 to my account for services rendered. This appears to be a clear case of exploiting consumers, especially senior citizens like myself, for financial gain. Money is important to me because Im on a fixed income. In my attempt to seek resolution, I contacted *******************, Manager of Lindstrom Air Conditioning, on March 28, 2024. However, ************ insisted that I am still responsible for the charge, despite the failure to identify any issues with my air conditioning system. It is evident to me that this situation reflects unethical business practices within the **** industry, and I refuse to be taken advantage of. Therefore, I demand that the charge of $182.75 be removed from my account immediately.I trust that Lindstrom Air Conditioning and Plumbing will rectify this matter promptly and restore my confidence in their services

I had a new HVAC system installed with an Ecobee thermostat six months ago. The thermostat continuously reads Air Quality:Poor. On my first complaint, Lindstrom told me that I needed to call Ecobee. I objected since Lindstrom installed the system with a 100% money back guarantee if not satisfied. A manager finally came out and tried to disable the air sensor without success and finally installed a new thermostat..same problem and no help from Lindstrom. I just want a compatible thermostat without an air quality sensor or an Ecobee without one.

On January 31st, **** I purchased a new Trane air conditioner from Lindstrom Air. I had previously priced the system a couple of years prior but did not make the purchase at that time. Until recently the old unit became inoperable. I then acquired two recent estimates in January **** and both were in the same ball park for a new 3.5 Ton Trane airconditioner. I made the decision to purchase through Lindstrom Air. At the time of my consultation, when I asked the Lindstrom representative why the cost had increased so much over a couple of years, I was told there were new standards and upgrades added to the 2023 Trane models. After my new unit was installed I inspected it and noticed that the manufacturing date on the unit was from 2022. I was shocked to say the least. I purchased a new unit and was expecting at the very least to receive a 2023 manufacturing date. Yet, I was told the cost of the unit reflected the new standards. It is obvious that I was delivered an airconditioner that had been sitting in a warehouse for up to two years. On top of that, I was not given a discounted price, instead I was charged the cost of a brand new **** Trane air conditioner. I have never purchased an appliance before that was over a year outside of its manufacturing date. I equate it with buying a new car that has been sitting on a lot for almost two years and being asked to pay for a newer model car price. These are deceptive practices in my opinion. It does not matter to me that Lindstrom is telling me its under warranty. I feel as though Lindstrom has a practice of doing this not just to me but other customers too, unapologetically. My yep told me they dont check the manufacturers dates and they just accept what Trane ( sold directly from manufacturer to dealer) gives them. Bad practice to say the least! The resolution I requested to Lindstrom is that they exchange it and install a **** model that I purchased or discount the ****************************************** my home.

I contacted Lindstrom ** and Plumbing to detect and repair a water leak in my house. The water appeared to be coming from under the air handler in the garage. The technician who came on 11/2/2023 stated that the elbows of the drain line needed replacementthis charge was $396.95. After he left, the leak continued. I called again, and Lindstrom sent another technician, this person stated that the drain pipe going into the slab was cracked and that the drain line pipe needed to be put out of service and install a new exterior drain line. The second repair cost $883. I had to fight to get credit for the first $396.95 repair. After the drain line was replaced, the water continued leaking into the garage. Lindstrom sent a third technician. The third technician determined that the ** system was not the problem. He suggested contacting a plumber. The plumber from Lindstrom came today 11/8/2023 and determined that there was a faulty pipe inside the walls near the washer and dryer room ($79 charge to determine if the pipes were leaking). To determine the exact location alone without the repair would cost $1,718. I decided to get a second opinion on the pipe leak detection and repair. My complaint is why Lindstrom charged me all this money for something that was not required. On top of paying the $396.95 plus $883, we have an additional ugly drain pipe coming out of the house. This replacement was not needed. Lindstrom made money, and I had to pay for something that was not required. If the first technician would have done the job correctly, he would have determined that the ** was not the problem. The plumber from Lindstrom detected the problem in less than half an hour. I have been a customer of ********************** for ** years. and replaced my ** system with them twice. I want Lindstrom to refund me the full amount ($396.95 + $883 = $1,279.95). PS: I called Lindstrom and asked to speak to a manager, the person I talked to said that she was a supervisor and they were going to look at the history and get back to me. Since they never called me back, I called again and I was transferred to a manager's voice mail. I left the complaint to this person and he has not called back.

Lindstrom Air Conditioning is a poor quality/customer focused company. I have been a customer of this company since the install of the a/c - continuing with the service/maintenance contract each year. During one of the service call the tech suggested an a/c compressor surge protector to protect the unit from any electrical surges- I agreed and it was installed - no issues until Monday July 31, 2023 when suddenly I hear an arching sound coming from the side of the house- open the front door to find smokeran to the side of the house to find the surge protector smoking-as pictured below- and the side of the house singed from the flames of the burning surge protector. Called Lindstrom to come out and address this very serious issue- tech shows up and basically stated that this is common that the surge protector would catch firereally? During the 2+ day wait for the service call in 100+ heat and an indoor temp of 85 - I googled to find out about this surge protector SYCOM SYC-120/240- T2 was the first item to pop up in the search-** reissues a warning on this product of a potential fire hazard 06.20.19 and this product should not be used and removed promptly- additional the specific company SUPCO released a warning and protect replacement to all distributors (Aka Lindstrom was a distributor as they sold the product to customers)During the actual service call the tech was very rude about the situation and informed me that Lindstrom was not replacing the surge ******* it would be a customer cost of $300 and then to top it off they charged me a service call $79?Lets recap Lindstrom has sold/installed a product -2015-that had been recalled by the manufacturer and the ** issue a public notice of the fire hazard of this product 2019 - see below-Lindstrom took no action of notifying customer who had this product and the potential hazard and the need to remove/replace or there was a good chance of it catching fire and damaging or burning the entire house down.

We signed up for a maintenance package with Lindstrom after a service with them. When we signed up for the package we received a call a couple months later that we needed to sign up for two maintenance visits with their representative. Per the representative these visits would be free of charge (included in the maintenance we had already paid for $200+) . Both visits were scheduled on February 22, 2023. The 1st visit would be on March 28, 2023. Upon scheduling she could not find any available times for the last visit within the 30 days but the representative assured us that it would not be a problem and scheduled down a date (7/17/23) because she stated it would still count as the 2/2 of visits. I also insisted they call back if anything changes. Today upon the final visit, we were confronted with an invoice and strong pressure to pay it or threatened to be sent to collections although the technician had also confirmed that this was visit 2/2 on his paperwork and that the error was on the company. He proceeded to try to sell us on a new service and maintenance package for a new problem that has become apparent although we had just had Lindstrom service us for a similar problem when we signed up for the maintenance package. When we refused to sign for the invoice trying to explain to him what the representative had assured us he stormed out of my home. And hadnt even fully cleaned up his mess under my AC unit. We even tried to speak with a Lindstrom representative about the issue but he refused to speak with us. This is unprofessional on the company and also the technician, and we should have to penalties for a mistake they made.

Lindstrom air conditioning company installed AC unit in 2017. Since then, my ac is getting clogged every couple of months. I had asked about this, and they couldn't answer. I recently got another ac company to help to clear the clog. That technician found that ac was installed in wrong angle which favored water to collect in the unit and causing the clog. I called Lindstrom to send someone to look into and correct the issue. They are asking money to send technician. I had already spent more than thousand due to their wrong installation. I need them to fix this and issue compensation for my loss and inconvenience.
