I set a 6/22/22, 9 am appointment with ************************* at the newly opened Haircut Bar in ***************, *************, **. I provided her with a picture of the haircut/style I wanted and repeatedly asked her if she could do the cut (before she got started and during) since I hadn't been to this salon before. She assured me she could do the style. From the moment she made the first cut with the scissors -my supposed bangs- I knew something was wrong. I questioned her and she continued to tell me it would be o.k. In the end, the right side of my hair is about an inch and a half longer than the left. Instead of touching my shoulder, the left side is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches above my shoulder! When I run my fingers through the underside and back of my hair there are pieces all throughout my hair that are longer than the main length of the uneven cut. The worst was that when she was done "styling," my hair, I stood up and showed her how uneven my hair was and the long, choppy, longer pieces throughout my hair. She proceeded to tell me she had "gotten out of bed," to help me out so I shouldn't complain or something to that effect. She also proposed continuing to cut my mangled hair after it was dried and supposedly styled to "correct," it. I refused. After this, she accused me of only wanting a "free haircut." I walked out of the salon to avoid further argument and called the police to remedy the situation. I waited in the parking lot and while there I received several texts from ****** calling me evil and telling me I would be punished and again stating all I wanted was a free haircut. In the end, I paid $70 for a "blowout," that I did not want, and have an appointment at another salon the next day to fix ******'s mistake. I will be paying hundreds of dollars more to fix this supposed hairstylist's terrible job. The person should not be cutting the publics' hair. I am sure I am not the only one to have experienced this.Business Response

This clients recollection of events is completely false. They came to a hair appointment looking for a hair cut and also obtained a hair wash and blow dry for other services. The whole time the client was asking me strange personal questions like where I live and what I do. I did not want to get into that I am s single mother, minority business owner as that shouldn't make a difference in the business we do. The client after evaluating her hair cut was not happy with it and when I told her I would fix and even it out by trimming some of the edges she became irate and stormed out of the premises without paying for any of the services. She took 3 services, a hair cut, a blow dry and a wash. It is our policy that if you are not happy with the haircut we don't charge for it, but the other services, she didnt complain about in person or in this formal BBB filing.
This client left her tea thermos in the business and called back for it, where we told her she could get it back if she paid for the other services provided minus the haircut she didn't like. She called the police, what is ironic is that the police after hearing the case and viewing our camera footage ended up telling her if she didn't pay for the wash and blow-dry they would arrest her. So she paid for the services which she is unhappy about, but after the police made their evaluation and looked at her hair and evidence decided it was the corrective action. Now this behaviorally damaged person is sending ridiculous emails and made it their mission to to post bad reviews to any site possible. Look at the pictures she posted her, hair is not falling out or discolored, and if she allowed us to finiah the job without yelling and running out she would have no issues. For all of the headaches this client has caused and continues to cause if the $70.00 made her go away we would gladly refund it, however she is now multiple defaming reviews in and is sending emails to the owners of the business requesting re-imbursements for gas milage and some type of hardship.
This is the case number the police filed with the Broward sheriffs ***********************************************, she did not include this in her compliant to you because if you call BSO they will tell you she is clearly in the wrong which is why the deputy said if she didn't pay they would arrest her.
If she continues to harass us and file false claims our business will be forced to take legal action against this client who is emotionally unstable.
Please let us know if we can send you camera footage by a larger file as I cannot upload it here.Customer Answer

I am requesting that the business owner/hairstylist provide the video of the hair cutting session she has referred to, both in her response to the BBB and on the internet, to the BBB for review. The video will refute her allegations.I continue to request a refund of the monies paid to her and a reimbursement of the expenses incurred for the correction of the damaging haircut she provided.
I did not specifically ask for my hair to be washed, as I had already washed it prior to the visit, or for my hair to be blow dried -these are services that are usual and customary as part of a salon hairstyling visit and they are services which the owner/hairstylist directed as part of this specific visit.
The owner is engaged in business malpractice, libel and retaliation due to the honest, but poor review I gave her on ****** as a result of the damaging haircut she provided.
The owner has threatened to call the police and claim harassment in her response to my emailed request for a refund and reimbursement although I have not contacted her otherwise. In addition, she has publicly slandered me on the internet, made false allegations, has threatened to distribute my image to the community and is advocating on the internet for salons to ban me.
I provided supporting documentation and information to my statements above under a separate cover to Better Business Bureau <***********************************> today, 6/24/22. Thank you for your continued assistance.
Sincerely,

The customer does not have an accurate or honest recollection of events and if free hair washing and free blow drying were common complimentary services then why would the Police that the client called to the business enforce her to Pay the business the $70.00? The Hair Cut she was not satisfied with was not charged and if the client would have allowed the stylist to adjust the areas she didn't like, there would be no issues at the moment. If the client would have discussed reasons for dissatisfaction and not stormed out without paying there would not be a dispute.
This client is very upset that they did not get away with non payment due to the Police that she called sided with the business. She is going through extreme lengths to go above and beyond the $70.00 she was charged and makes claims like she went through some extreme pain and suffering which is bogus. Her hair wasn't harmed at all but could have been shaped better which is why the haircut was not charged. The condition of her hair was still in better shape from the unkempt nature and damaged texture she walked in with.
We ask the BBB to review the correspondence, speak to the *********************** and review the case and close this matter as the business and client in this one cannot come to an agreement and it will take away resources from cases where people are actually harmed. We encourage the BBB to send someone to the business to see if this is a warm and welcoming business or the chop shop the angry client claims and make their own evaluation. They can send a drop Box link to the email with the BBB for the camera footage as it is a large file for review.Customer Answer

Complaint: 17463742I am rejecting the business owner, ******** ******** allegations and statements as they are not a true account of the reason for my complaint nor do they offer a reasonable, equitable resolution based on the facts of the complaint.
I have requested that the business owner, ************************* submit the unedited, salon security video from 6/22/22 at approximately 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., that she referenced in her initial response to the BBB for review since she has continued to make serious allegations. If she will not submit the video to the BBB for their review, then I request that she cease her unfounded, false narrative of what the ************* Police Officer's ******** or actions where on 6/22/22. There was no "enforcement," or threat of arrest on the part of the officer to me during this incident -******************** transparent intent is to distract from the actual facts that are relevant to this complaint. I called the police officer to assist me with settling the matter with **************** to avoid any further argument with her.
The facts of my complaint remain the same. I set an appointment with the owner/manager/hairstylist ************************* 6/22/22 at 9:00 a.m. I showed **************** a picture of the specific haircut and style I wanted, and specifically asked her if she was able to execute the haircut/hairstyle. **************** assured me repeatedly that she could. This warrants a verbal contract, between **************** and myself, for the execution of the specific haircut/hairstyle in question and subsequent payment for the this specific haircut & hairstyle.
**************** directed me to the back of the salon to have my hair washed which is necessary and customary in order to cut an individual's hair. I have never experienced, or heard of, a professional hairstylist cutting an individual's hair dry. **************** cut my wet hair and styled it which included blowdrying and flat-ironing section of my hair. I questioned **************** throughout this process as it did not seem that she knew what she was doing (she burned my scalp three times) nor did the haircut look like it was correct throughout each step in this process. I did not see the complete end result until **************** advised me she was done. When **************** was done I stood up and showed **************** the uneven short pieces in the front and the long, jagged pieces throughout my hair. **************** then proceeded to argue with me, trying to convince me to let her continue to cut at my hair. **************** not only failed to deliver the haircut/hairstyle I contracted her for, she further damaged my hair resulting in the front, left side being 1 to 1 1/2 inches shorter than the right and long, jagged pieces of hair being disbursed through the back and underside. After seeing the damage that **************** inflicted on my hair, it was an extremely unrealistic expectation of **************** that I would allow her to damage my hair further. It was clear **************** is not a hairstylist and lacks the basic skills to cut or style hair, much less correct the damage she inflicted. Due to **************** damaging hair cut, I had to pay a professional hairstylist $112 to correct my hair which is now approximately 5 inches shorter overall.
According to the police officer on 6/22/22, **************** did not charging me for the haircut, but did charged me $70 for the hair wash and blow dry which in comparison to other salons in the are is price gouging. I paid the $70 and left without further incident.
I posted an accurate ****** Review, which I included in my complaint submission to the BBB, based on my negative experience and included before and after pictures in the review. **************** may choose to be creative in her narrative of what occurred on 6/22/22 as an attempt to distract from her lack of hair cutting skills and price gouging; however, the pictures I posted in my review detail the extent of the damage she inflicted on my hair which is indisputable.
I am requesting a full a refund of monies paid to **************** and reimbursement for the correction haircut to fix the damage she inflicted. I believe this is a fair and reasonable resolution.
In retaliation **************** posted an owner's response in which she refers to the salon security video, essentially calls me insane, threatens to distribute my image to the local salons, and is advocating form me to be ban from all salons. I have also submitted her review to the BBB for their consideration.
Last, I have submitted to the BBB other customer reviews that support my experience with ****************. My experience is not an isolated incident. I am confident that there are many other paying customers that have received bad haircuts, been charged high prices and have been intimidated by **************** into not taking action.
I wish to continue to pursue my complaint. Thank you again for your continued assistance with this matter.
Sincerely,
***************************
