On May 14, 2024 I was searching for health insurance, as I moved from NY state to CT state. Somehow I left a phone number and was contacted by a representative who said they could help me with health insurance. They offered me a "First Health PPO" health plan that included vision and dental. They first made sure that I had no major health issues that were diagnosed in the last 12 mos and that I understood that pregnancy and in-patient mental health would be excluded from my benefits. They sent me a text to confirm that I understood this and that I was agreeing to enroll. They told me I had 30-days to cancel "even if I did not like the color of the benefits card" I would be receiving - for any reason under the sun I could cancel and received a refund. They are charming and sweet as h*** when selling and enrolling, but short and rude when trying to cancel. The information they sent me limited visits, and there was no way to determine by the account number and login information exactly what my benefits actually were. *********************** told me that I could only look over the plan once I applied. It was affordable and I am in good health so I thought I try it, look it over, see who the doctors were in the plan, etc. and decide if I would keep it. So, I find out that *********************** is not with First Health (owned by Aetna, and Aetna owned by CVS) but with some company called Essential Health and I purchased a ************ 3 health plan. What? They are cancelling my membership, although I am finding out now that the application fee from vision/dental is non-refundable. I haven't received an email that they have received by vision/dental cancellation. And, I have been told it doesn't matter who I speak to, they are not refunding my $50 application fee. OH, and a biggie, my phone has been ringing off the hook for 3 days now from this company who obviously have several people in the field trying to sell these plans. I have had to put my phone on silent.Initial Complaint

Trying to discuss a cancelation and possible refund. Talked to multiple people, no one on the same page about cancelling. Learned later in the month that I was still paying for a prescription service, that I never used- the pharmacy informed me it was a discount card and not real insurance. Tried to cancel on or before December 1st. Still got charged for the month, have talked with serval people and one told me I could receive a refund for December, which was all I was seeking. They said they would reach out. No one did, I called back and a woman named ****** was insanely rude and ended up hanging up on me. I only got this temporary insurance because I have Thyroid cancer and needed insurance between jobs. I was told I needed to cancel after 30 days and then in the same sentence was told that I wouldn't have been charged for the month of December if I had called by November 28th. None of this was communicated the first time I called. OR was it in the emails I received with the company. How could they refund the benefits on the 14th (of December) but not the whole insurance for this month. Makes zero sense. Terrible communication and lies.Initial Complaint

I got scammed by a representative who sold me a dental discount plan through ********. I was told that my dentist and orthodontist accepted this plan which I found out did not. I was also told I could receive a full refund within 30 days. I called to cancel and they told me I couldn't get a refund because I had used there plan by contacting my dentist and orthodontist to ask if they accepted ********. I advised the representative that I never got any information about the plan as promised to be able to use the plan if I was able too, and that I wanted a refund. She told me she couldn't help me, when I tried calling back, it would ring once and than hang up on me, meaning they blocked my number! This place is a scam!!!Initial Complaint

On Oct 6th 1:35 pm, I took a call from Essential Heal Solutions to review insurance policies. After talking to an agent and discussing what I needed, the agent told me they found a plan for $279/mo, that would include emergency care, dental, and vision. They then told me if I was okay with opting out of pregnancy care, or mental health inpatient hospitalization, that I could reduce this to $219/mo. They assured me this included emergency care, therapy and dental/vision. This particular agent kept telling me that I needed to enroll instantly because I could lose out on the enrollment period, or that "all the spots may be taken up". Due to this predatory behavior, I told the agent I would need to investigate alternatives prior to signing up, and eventually this agent agreed to call me back 2 hours later. At 3:41 pm, after not hearing back from the agent, I called the same number and spoke to a different agent. After reviewing my information and plan I had previously discussed, I told the agent that I was ready to move forward as long as she could confirm that the plan included emergency, therapy/mental health, dental and vision coverage. She told me that this plan did not cover any of those things for $219/mo, but if I upgraded to $289, I could include emergency and mental health where 70% of costs would be covered. At this time I moved forward with purchasing the plan. After getting enrolled, I reviewed the schedule of benefits which said in numerous places that the plan was preventative care only and no emergency care/diagnostics were included. I then called the insurance company (SNI) directly on Nov 3rd and confirmed with them I had no emergency coverage. I then was referred to the billing company (first enroll) who then transferred me to an agent, both of who kept telling me that I had 70% emergency coverage, but were unable to provide any documentation that this was true. This morning I received confirmation that my refund was processed.
