Southern Oak is a horrible insurance company. They triple their premiums within a year, send "professionals" that clearly don't see mold or cracks. They expect their payments on time BUT like usual this insurance company will go above and beyond to NOT pay out on claims

Where do I even began! We switched off of the state run insurance even paying a bit more for and almost instantly regretted our decision. They are VERY intrusive, first they sent out an inspector without notification and he banged on my door in the morning. My dog barked and before he even introduced himself he asks "what kind of dog is that, and how many do you have" Then quizzes me on the age of my 6 year old roof. Although all this information was submitted to the insurance company along with a wind mitigation. He proceeds to snap photos of the house and even inside my gutters (glad I just cleaned them). About a week after this we get an email stating we had two weeks to submit a tun of information about a claim we filed with our previous insurance company that was (paid out and resolved) regarding water damage in our kitchen. We were very accommodating even though I wanted to say it was really none of their dam business! We explained that we where still in the process of fixing the damage my cabinets where custom and took 8 weeks to be manufactured and showed documentation and receipts from the contractor. They also wanted before and after photos. My wife called the insurance company and explained that the work was not yet finished and they told her just submit photos of the work in progress. So we once again where very accommodating and did what they asked. At this point we where just waiting on countertops but documented the work done and showed that the old damaged cabinets where removed with new installed. Well this morning we get a notice of cancellation because our kitchen wasn't finished fast enough for them. What an absolute joke of a company.

Southern Oak inspector made an appt time of noon on the day arranged, showed up 6 hours earlier hoping to sneek up on us and catch us I guess doing nefarious things. He was rude and obnoxious the entire time. Then 2 weeks later we get a non compliance letter from Southern Oak claiming they were going to issue a non renewal because the inspector didn't see a fire hydrant out front of the house. Even though a letter from the county fire department states our home is within **** feet of a hydrant. Southern Oak claimed various alleged "construction and general debris" on the property that didn't exist as an excuse for non renewal. It seems this company along with others are just trying to prevent home ownership going with the agenda of the climate activists which is "you'll own nothing and be happy".We filed a complaint with the state and even had a local news crew to report the story but the company is steadfast refusing to respond to our calls and emails.

I would never recommend Southern Oak insurance company. We had a minor problem of a leak that came in from outside the house. Because I paid to have an experience company check for mold, and they found some. Therefore, I called the insurance company. They said there Water mitigation people in and not only did they set up these machines and run them, they cut out a 2 x 2 rug in three different areas. Southern oak, then denied the claim. Their representatives stated that we cut out the carpet. That was a complete lie. they would not pay to replace what they had done. Its one thing to deny a claim. But its another thing to lie to the customer.

I want to be ******* clear what happened to me regarding this company. Upon my annual renewal the company did not reinstate me because of a 9 lb Bichon Frise dog. Apparently their inspector reported as a mixed breed dog with a bite history. The inspector fraudualently reported that I had a mixed breed dog that did not belong to me. They failed to supply me with notification (even though they said they notified myself and my agent, they supplied no proof of their correspondence either written or email. We escalated but they had little regard and would not reinstate the policy. My agent called as well to explain the situation and to reiterate that they too never received any correspondence about a dog issue. We even sent them a picture of the 9 lb dog who is 15 and very sick and doesn't go outside. So, this company will not reinstate my policy because of a 9 ib sick dog who doesn't go outside. They should be ashamed of themselves. Pllease do not use this company. They will cancel you without notice. Please do not respond that you have policies regarding dogs because you are discriminating against me because I own a dog. Your inspector fraudulently reported and that is the real issue. I'm pretty certain many people in the **************** of dogs that insurance policies are not canceled because of them. Again, do not use this company.

Garbage insurance company. They send emails that look like spam demanding documentation about repairs from previous claims with previous company, take your money and then send non renewal letters because you have solar panels or because you didn't send them the documentation they demand. They demanded before and after pictures and receipts from a licensed company. I did all my own repairs from hurricane *** and they wouldn't accept it even though they sent someone out to look at the house. Run far away from this s*** company.

Not a very pleasurable experience with Southern oak. I was sent a non-renewal letter over Southern oak not receiving the official documents about my home's roof. I only knew that they needed the documents once they sent me the non-renewal letter. I called to see if I could send them the documents and reverse the non-renewal but they declined.

This is a Very bad and irresponsible insurance company Have been insured for more than 10 years with them Payment on 3 schedule every year with valid credit card no delay payment At renewal last February, without notice they decided at the last minute that They have to be pay totally upfront They erase partially the credit card information . No payment was submitted by themhave checked with the bank who issued ?? credit card I discovered several weeks later, receiving a letter mentioning that my insurance have been canceled .without previous any telephone or e-mail alerts to ask me to do the payment Very bad service to a loyal customer for more than 10 years!!!!STILL without insurance today This company should be banned to offer service in *******
