    Had Charlotte Plumbing install a new bathtub at rental home while renters were there. Date of install was 8/3/2020 w/ a 10 year warranty. When renters move out Nov 1st 2021, I noticed what I thought was dirt in the bottom of tub was actually rust. There were hairline cracks with rust stains coming from them. I call immediately when I realized that Dec 2021. They said they would get a claim started. So I waited...for months. I was trying to be patient because of supply issues. So I call in I think April and ask where we are at in the claim. They had no idea what I was talking about. 😵‍ïï��ï��'ïï��ï�� So I go through explaining and sent pictures again. They send pictures to BOOTZ tub manufacturer and they say it is called Crazing & due to improper installation.Lots of back and forth with no return phone calls. Charlotte Plumbing denies it and sends a repair man to patch it. I say I really don't want to patch a new tub because I don't want it coming off. I'm promised it's still under warranty for 10 years and I would have to fix the tile touching the tub and didn't want to do that so settled for a bandaid. The tech calls me and says, this is due to a rubber mat with suction cups that damaged the tub because there were round circles on the bottom. The circles are the nonskid texture 🙄 I was at the house before and during all of this and knew there was no mat in the tub. The tenants told me her and her husband don't use the tub & the only time it gets used is when their 6 year old granddaughter takes a bath occasionally if she stays the night. I told him 3 times there was no mat but he didn't want to hear it and said, it's ok, I'll still fix it. So I didn't argue. That was about June 22,2022. To my surprise, the owner of Charlotte Plumbing SENDS ME A BILL FOR $375! I ignore it. July 3rd I get guests coming in the house and after they left, I notice his patch job didn't hold up and now looks worse then before with large chips coming off.     I was told over the phone that the replacement of a shower valve and trim would be $165.00 plus labor. I figured $150.00 for labor and agreed to these terms. After the Plumber was forty minutes late and left my bathroom a mess from the repairs he brings a sheet out saying that the repair was going to cost $725.00 I said no way. He told me to call the office. When I called the office another woman told me the girl that quoted me this price was new and made an error. I told her they made no attempt to tell me she had made an error and that the error was on them. She lowered the price to $525. I still feel that was too high but paid it anyway. After the plumber left I had no hot water to my shower and had to call them back to correct the issue. This is a con game to set the homeowner up without telling the actual cost of the repair. If I knew that was going to be the price I would never had them do the work.

    We are sorry for the administrative error on the original price, we are training new team members at the moment and it was an honest mistake that was explained immediately when the plumber called us about the confusion from the customer's home. We tried to make this right on the spot and heavily discounted the price to just cover the cost of the parts and minimal labor. We were 29 mins later than the scheduled ****pm afternoon slot, but the plumber apologized to the homeowner as he was a little behind from a previous job. The plumber had already tested that the shower worked before he left, but when the customer called to say there wasn't hot water to the shower he immediately returned to his home and found that there actually was hot water but the customer wanted it hotter than the valve's control allows. We made the change at the customer's request, but cannot do this as standard as the valve is required and specifically set to prevent scolding.

    We always provide pricing up front and never send someone out to "assess it" while doing the work (unless it's a free estimate ahead of larger projects) specifically because we don't want the customer to have any surprises when we are there. Our plumbers don't work on commission and we only strive to provide the best customer service.
