May 3rd I purchased a VW Tiguan 2011 before I drove off he said he didn't get to fully check the car he only did the basic oil change and cleaned the car. He suggested to ride it for a WEEK and bring it back with my concerns. A WEEK later he told me he is on his way to the airport. So I would have to wait another week till he gets back. On May 14th the engine light came on. When he came back, a worker check it out the computer wouldn't read the codes. Had the vehicle been properly inspected before selling he would have known the *** meter wasn't working. He kept suggesting what he felt was the reason for the engine light being on to be something minor. (Sparks plug coils a simple misfire) Which is why he seen no urgency in looking into it and kept telling me he will get back to me. (Dragging out the time) It's not until I decided to take it to the dealership myself, he then said bring it to him. (I have more documentations I can show). He had the car for over month still not knowing why the engine light and the jerking was happening. It took me calling another mechanic who suggested a specific test which lead him to knowing that the cylinder was dead. He said I will have to pay half of the labor and the parts. He sold me that car damaged and because of my lack of awareness he took advantage and now wants me to pay half. He sold me a lemon there's no way a engine gets damaged in less than 2 weeks. He fixed the *** meter and get the codes of things wrong with the car but the engine light still was on and he didn't know why. He said he doesn't have time to fix the car its going to be to much of a big job to do. I repeatedly asked for only my down payment back $4000 and he can take back the car and do whatever. Instead he released the lien and left me with a damaged car that cost $14000 to fix. My entire life has been upside down since June 20th. The depressing emotional state this has put my son and I through.

****************, no one held you to the wall in giving you the option as to taking the last offer of Final Frontier taking the loss of washing the remaining balance of over $6k and us releasing the title for you to keep the car and not pay us a dime more so you can get the car fixed with the balance. From the beginning of the loan, you have not paid us on time, understanding you have a set amount of money you collect at the beginning of every month. If the engine was damaged in 2 weeks, there would be absolutely NOOOO way you would be driving the car all over *******, just NO WAY. We worked with you and your time frame of just coming in for 1 hour. Even when you did come in, **** our mechanic stated he didn't feel anything in which you and him drove around.  I *************************** personally drove the car the day I dropped you off to your house to have the car checked properly and thoroughly, the car drove great on the highway, and even with you in the car what you were stating the car was doing, absolutely did NOTHING (this is with you in the car). I drove the car back and still nothing at all. We tried absolutely everything, and that we did, we communicated with you at all times. We did sell you a car that had no issues, it even came from the auction as no announcement. In conclusion BBB, there is nothing to give to her in this ordeal, because she stated in black and white to take the offer of releasing the title in her name and get the car fixed and not pay us a dollar more. Again YOU finalized on the option of keeping the car. You did, please remember! I am sorry about the problems you have always had even prior to purchasing the vehicle from us that have made you depressed but do understand we did try and did not stop trying. You also not paying affected our families and kids, not just you. BBB we have already came to an agreement from 2 months ago on this situation.

      Customer response

I am rejecting this response because ******* told me the day I brought the car he didnt get a chance to check the car because he just got it he did a oil change and cleaned it. He told me to drive it for a week make a list of my concerns and he will honor it. The engine light came on 10 days after you sold me the car. I reached out to you multiple times,(I have text messages and call logs to show) During those months payments were made as agreed due to my pay schedule that you were aware of and you still did not check the engine. Driving it around is not diagnosing the issue and to get a diagnosis that couldnt have been done because the *** montior was not working (******* noticed that when he checked after ***** couldn't get the computer to read and give any codes to why the engine light is on) ******* kept saying he will get back to me  and that he feels its something minor for the engine light to be on. He's barely at the shop so I waited for him to let me know when he will be there to bring it in. During that time you had a lost in your family and put a standstill on the situation being handled. I got the car March 3rd. I did not drive the car for 6 months. I have the text messages to show there was a lack of communication and urgency towards this matter. I drove the car because I had no choice I had no other means of transportation. Its not until I withheld my payments to save it to get a diagnosis from the dealership your wife said no just to bring it in on June 20th. You guys had the car and Its not till Aug 25th (a whole 2 months and a few days later) you were able to tell me what was wrong with the car only because I called another mechanic who told ******* to do a compression test. Your lack of sense of urgency lead to the time frame of the car being dragged out and checked. I kept asking for my down-payment back throughout this matter because you work with cars, damage car or not you could benefit from the car more than me and all I wanted was my down-payment back to make up for all of my time lost and wasted but more so for my son. My son needs the vehicle more than me with all his appointments and school. He missed. When you offered to clean the bill and release the title I was not in the right state of mind for my father died and I had no fight in me for anything. When ******* said take the car no more payments and just change the engine. But when I picked up the suv it had more damages to it than when I dropped it off. I asked ***** whats all these lights on the dashboard and why is it shaking more ? And what was done to the car? He said he didnt work on it that y'all brought someone else (an outsider) to come look at it and he doesnt know what was done. So now I'm stuck with a car that has more damages and to fix it it's $14000. Which is more than what the car even cost.  And when I told this to you, you laughed at me. How dare you say my life was depressing before this car. I was fine and well until I was ignored about how important it is to me about the engine light being on because not having a *********** my livilihood. During the two month span of you guys having the car I spent over $400 on getting a rental for 2 days because you guys couldn't give me any details. That was a waste of money because I said I rather take the money and go to the dealership and atleast we would all know what is really going on with the suv because no one at the shop could figure it out. Yes you and ***** both drove the car. You even said yourself that once you got back you left the car running and it started to do what I mentioned. Had the car been taken to the dealership and properly diagnosed time and lives wouldnt have been affected. I took the car to the dealership and asked questions and that's how I was able to find out what's really wrong with the car. This review is because you said all I needed was an engine. But the dealership is telling me the damages is not just a engine and going to cost over $14000. And I am not pure evil as you texted me.

      Sincerely,

      Audreaner ******
