*** **** managed my policies for Home Owners Insurance, Flood Insurance and Auto Insurance. He stopped communicating with me in February 2023 and hasn't responded to any of my calls, emails or texts in the last 3 months. I have attempted to change policies because I sold my home and am changing insurance. Only *** **** can cancel these policies.Business response

Had my home insured with this company. Sold my house July 2021. Still trying to get a refund for what was left on the policy. Took them until 3/22 to cancel the policy correctly and advise me I was due a $720 refund but never got a check. They don’t reply to phone calls or emails.Business response

I can not open the link to see the complaint but I can only think that it is from a prior client, Justin Thompson. This is my reply regarding his issue. He posted on my business facebook page and this is my reply.
******* Thank you for your comment and I can understand your frustration but you did not let us know you sold the home until January of this year. We cancelled the policy upon request and your refund generated from the Carrier on 2/24. Plus I see multiple communications with you and my office. We will contact the carrier to see if the check has been cashed. I do find your comment to be misleading and disingenuous.

I am rejecting this response because: I emailed asking to cancel my policy on 07/21/21 and never received a reply. I emailed again on 12/29/21 after making numerous unreturned phone calls. When I did finally get to speak to *** **** he told me he was aware of my issue and had continued to delay it because he wanted to use it for training purposes for his other employees. I just want my refund of $720 and I want to be done with this company. It has been almost 7 months that I have been attempting to cancel this policy. I have attached screen shots of both emails I mentioned above. I can provide the actual emails if needed but I was unable to attach them to this message

*** **** is supposed to be an insurance agent. He owns the agency so there is no one else you could report him too. He has caused a lot of stress, anxiety and lots of money. I was short money last year by almost $600 because his agency did report my homeowners was raised. Had to pay out the money or my mortgage was going to be raised. This past year I started the process early to get out of the homeowner's insurance I had. It was going up again drastically. The process started in February. *** **** would not return phone calls or emails. No one in his office I guess?? Not sure what shadiness is going on there. It took me month's to finally get a policy written up. Only to find out he had the wrong mortgage company on paperwork. The other insurance company was given $2548 that should of went to the new insurance company. I finally called the new company Citizens. I was told all this information. They never received payments. Wrong mortgage company listed. Sent the rejection back to *** ****. He never handled it. This has been months before me finding out. This whole thing has been a nightmare. And costing me a lot of money and frustration. I have so many emails to him and no response. Phone calls. Messages. No response. When I finally got him on the phone. I explained my brother died and my dad had a major stroke. I needed him to get this all done for me. He promised he would. Now here we are into the New Year. NOTHING has been done by him except he created a big mess for me. He told me you can find someone on your own. No, I can't. Citizens will not let anyone just pick up their insurance. You need a agent *** ****. THANKS. Now I have to find another agent to fix his mistakes on the policy. Starting over. Losing all that money. I have to now try and fight with other homeowners' insurance company to get some of my money back. Three-way conversation with my mortgage company and new insurance company to have money sent to them before a new agent can even do anything.Business response

In response to ******** complaint.
I reached out to ****** on 9/13/2021 in an effort to let her know that her policy was going to increase and we shopped the policy for her (email attached). In the email I explain that if she chose to go with Citizens we would need a new inspection. She, obviously, wanted the lesser expensive of the two and chose Citizens; as would have been my choice. I bound the policy as requested and sent the invoice and evidence of insurance to her mortgage company (her policy is paid from escrow).
When ****** contacted the inspection company, as requested in the email I sent her, they told her that they were not operating in her area any longer and that she did not need a new inspection. **** **** then refused to get a new inspection and instead of believing me, her agent that works with the underwriting department of the insurance carrier, she chose to believe an inspector that does not even operate in her area any longer. She did need a new wind mitigation inspection for two reasons; the one we had on file was too old for Citizens' standards and it did not document some roof work she had done.
In the meantime, the prior carrier had already generated the renewal for her policy and they automatically sent evidence of the renewal and the invoice to the mortgage company. Her mortgage company paid the renewal (for the policy that had gone up) and that transaction is not controlled by me in any way. However, she would be fully refunded the premium paid out once we cancelled the old policy but I could not do that until I received the revised Wind Mitigation inspection because without it the new, Citizens, policy would cancel for "failure to provide underwriting documentation".
My wrongdoing in this whole process was agreeing to write the Citizens policy before the new inspection was in my possession and for that I apologize. I do hope ****** can find an agent that she can trust above the home inspector and wish her the best.
