American Commercial Construction & Development failed to file for a reroofing permit with the city of Tampa Florida. I need to produce a copy of that permit. City of Tampa has no record of permit. I need Keith Powers or his subcontractor to give me a copy of the permit.Business Response

This owner emailed us yesterday and we told them we have no record of this job, she also stated it was done in 2015 and if she has a contract its yellow copy, please send us a copy. Otherwise we dont have a homeowner with this name of record.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I DO have a copy of the contract. It's been misplaced since moving my home office. This same company also replaced the roof at my former business the very next year 2016. To get an invoice from them I had to call and request one. It was sent as an attachment to an email from their Tampa office mgr. Lynn N.

We do not have any information on this complaint. The requests are 8 to 10 years old. Why are they requesting this now? We asked them if they are new owners, do you have a canceled check, or a copy of a sales contract. They have not provided any paperwork. Unless you can provide proof of the roof replacement, we are claiming this as a bogus complaint. We are asking the BBB to close the complaint.

We got a new roof with in October of 2022. My roof has a leak and the company has not gotten back to me about fixing it. I have called over and over and all I get it someone telling me someone will get back to me. It hasn't even been a year and it is already failing. That just tells me the job was not done correctly and they do not want to fix their mistakes.Business Response

March of 23, Roofing Now installed a new metal roof on our home. The roof failed inspection and *** ****** refuses to come out and fix our issues. He did sent someone a few months ago, on a Sunday not letting us know ahead of time. On our carport metal was also put on but was never supposed to be installed there. *************** did come out and put a differnt roof on, but we were never reimbursed for the different material costs. One of his employees also cut out a beam which he is saying he is not responsible for. Why did his employer touch it if it was not part of the project? We do have texts from **************** stating he would have to get an engineer to see what can be done so it will pass inspection. Now he is claiming he is not responsible. We had a roofing company come out after hurricane *** because we had leaks. They explained that our pitch was not large enough to even have a metal roof installed. We have a 112 pitch, a 312 pitch is needed for a metal roof. We paid ****** dollars and the work is not right, and can not pass inspection. I asked **************** to come out himself and look at the workmanship that was done, he refuses. We just want our roof done right! We want the correct roof put on, so we can just get it passed and done and over with. Since we can't have metal, we need a new roof...we need something that is done right...Business Response

The inspectot told us that we only needed a couple screws, this owner has refused ** access to the site and caused the permit to expire. They have complained to the **** and they concluded in our favor. This owner will need to pay to reinstate the permit, stop interfering with my crew and allow us to close the permit

I am rejecting this response because: He sent a crew on a Sunday, at 5:00pm, he did not let us know anyone was coming. We need to know when to someone is coming. We would like the owner to come out himself and look at the terrible job his crew did in the first place. Our roof is not properly secured. The county said the permit is his responsibility , and it does not meet the manufacturer specifications for the way it was installed. We had another roofer give us an estimate, he stated a metal roof is not ever proper for our pitch. It leaked during hurricane ***! We just want this situation resolved.

We had a leak after they fixed it and now is still leaking we called and they will not fix it Says we had a storm Which I understand however if they fixed correctly the first place it would not leak againBusiness Response

We only installed the flat roof and its out of warranty, The shingle roof is old and Neds to be replaced well past its useful life. The contract explained the terms as warranty and named storms.

I changed my 22 years good old roof to reduce my insurance premium and first week with the new roof I got a lifetime repairing roof. My flat roof peaks at the middle and slopes down to the valley where it meets the exterior wall. Keith's roof's membranes which are ended about 3 inches short to the bottom of this valley and patched strip is barely covered the roof's membrane, poorly sealed, and full of holes, gaps, and cracks. It was rained very hard for few days in first week, rainwater floated down to this valley as expected and it created a pool of rainwater during the rain, so all the gaps, holes, cracks, and unglued membranes were submerged in that rainwater pool. Based on many showed unglued roof's membranes, ones would conclude that water get beneath the new roof's membranes and into the wooden roofs as well. How can ones stop the down floating rainwater where the wooden roof meets the wall is longer and deeper than Keith's roof's membranes which poorly sealed, and full of holes, gaps, and cracks? If I allow Keith to put BAND-AID to my flat roof to stay with GAF' warranty, then every 5 years and in between I'll be paying him to repair/replace all my roofs. Or, if I want to correct the problem by get other company to bring it up to code, the GAF's warranty is voided. Keith said to me GAF warranty for lifetime, he must mean my new roof, he warranties a lifetime repaired for me. That's milking me for life. Keith has done my neighbor's roof so fine, and he'd done mine so very badly. That's he's discriminated against me. you 've breached the contract by not fully disclosure to me. You forced me to sign your contract in duress. I want you to refund $15,600 on the job you've badly done, so I can get a good, respectable company who can do it right by the FL Flat roof's coding. Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/19) */ Well this is simply not true, her roof was installed to code, we passed the final inspection and she complained to the building official and he came out told us what to do and my guys are going tomorrow to do the area of roof as discussed, we have retuned all her calls and we will complete the areaa even though its passed a final inspection after we complete the process tomorrow we call the inspector back out for final again. The city of St Pte inspector said the owner is unrully and unwilling to be satified. All we ask is for her to state what code shes referencing and she refuses, we all thinks shes trying be a case with no facts, She needs to supply With fact.
