Yesterday my wife answered a knock on our door and there was a young woman there from Reece Windows trying to sell us windows. My wife politely explained to her that there is a no solicitation sign posted at the entrance to our community and that she (my wife) is on the board of directors of our community association. This person asked my wife - rather rudely - if she had a badge. My wife replied that she did not and did not need one and the salesperson then left our doorway and walked to the doorway of the unit next door and was about to knock on her door when my wife ordered her to stop and again told her that there is no solicitation allowed on our property. Then we observed the salesperson walking to the end unit of our building on our floor and knocking on the door there. My wife called the owner of that unit and the owner confirmed that it was indeed the Reece salesperson. We then observed the salesperson climbing the stairs to the 2nd floor of our building and preparing to knock on the door of the unit directly above us.. At this time we observed a minivan with the Reece logo on the side moving slowly in front of our building with a man driving. He stopped and my wife spoke to him and again reiterated that we have no solicitation signs posted at the entrance to our property. The minivan left our area and we presume that the pair of salespeople left our community. This intrusive and illegal violation by this company needs to be brought to the attention of their ownership and assurances made that this will not happen again..Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Business did not indicate that they are aware of "no solicitation" sign posted at community entrance. My unit is only one of attempts made to contact owners by this business. I wish this business to verify that they are aware of the "no solicitation" sign and that they will honor this requirement.
Sincerely,

On Sept 28th 2024- **** ***** from Reece windows ..came out and measured windows and doors. We paid him the cash he demanded for deposit. On Sept 30th 2024- we emailed request for receipt of $10,300 deposit paid in cash, proof of license and insurance. On Oct 1 we received invoice for two vinyl impact windows and four impact doors, All permits, taxes, dump fees and installation included.Oct 2, Another salesman came and measured and his numbers were not even close to the measurements and swings of the first salesman.Oct 2, 2024 I called **** -Sales Manager for these measuring salesmen and he said that they both were incorrect in their measuring and that he could do it with the video footage from them and complete our order. He said everything was taken care of and I wouldnt have to sign anything else-no other contract. He said the doors would be there in 4weeks and the windows a week later. After a few weeks he emailed repeated requests for resigning another contract. Their scheduler made an error and scheduled the door installers to put in the doors, but when they came to our house they had the wrong sized doors! A supervisor was called and came out and he too said they are the wrong size doors & even the wrong type and they would have to be reordered. Also he noted the windows wrongly measured. Then we were notified that their permit was *********** is January 8 2025 today. Reece did not secure any permit, theyve ordered the incorrect doors 3 times- And the windows have never appeared. . When I asked **** for the *** number for these things- wrong again! Weve written emails requesting full refund for their total incompetence, fraud and scam.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:We have talked with ****** ***** the lawyer that Reece is referring to. After explaining the situation several times, he seemed to be empathetic and understanding and then I was completely ghosted. Ive called eight consecutive days requesting a call back and have heard Nothing back from him. Last I spoke with him was on Thursday and he said he was meeting with the president of Reece and I should call him on Friday around one. I called at one, two and three o clock. Ive left messages on his Voicemail, and ****** mailbox and SMS. Clearly he does not want to talk. What steps do I have to further rectify this situation? What would you recommend? ****** ***** *** # ************** . Please call him and find out whats going on.
Thank you for guidance.

At 2:38 this afternoon, my security cameras recorded this salesman leaving his brochure and notice on my doorstep. I have contacted Reece Builders several time in the past 2 years and requested that their salesmen respect the state's No Solicitation laws. I have notices posted on my property in plain view which this salesman clearly saw (and looked at).Their notice states that they are doing work for one of my neighbors. I know my neighbors and this is an outright lie and cheap advertising ploy.I think it is time for Reece Builders to be put on notice for their repeated disregard of these laws.I intend to pursue legal action if they do not.I am attaching a copy of the information left on my doorstep, as well as photos of my No Soliciting signs and the photos from my security system.Business Response

We are sorry for knocking on your door. We are currently working on 19 homes around your home. I have notified our marketing department to mark your home so that hopefully we do not stop by your house again.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:This is the same response I have received over and over again from this company.
Furthermore, their claim of working on 19 homes in my neighborhood is an outright lie. I know my neighbors and neighborhood. There are NO neighbors that I know of working with this company or in the process of installing new windows and doors. The only way this is true is if they are extending "my neighborhood" to most of ************
They tried to show me this claim on a phone map when they came to my door. They had marked houses that I know are not getting repairs or upgrades. This is just a cheap sales gimmick.

As of October 15, ************************************************** my neighborhood for over 2 weeks, where it is clearly marked as not allowed. Today someone was standing in my front porch looking at my windows, I went outside and he claimed to be from the state building code enforcement office. His hat and shirt clearly said Reece. My 91-year-old mother-in-law had to vacate her home for repairs following Hurricane ***. During this time, she requested that we replace all windows and glass doors with hurricane-rated (impact) products. After receiving a bid from ***** ****** of Reece Windows and Doors, we signed a contract totaling $56,690.00 for these installations.Unfortunately, in July, one of the newly installed windows shattered when struck by a rock. When I contacted Reece, ******* ******* indicated they would replace the window. However, I later learned from the installer that the windows were not, in fact, impact-rated.On September 3rd, I spoke with ***** ******, the general manager, who confirmed that we paid for impact-rated windows and promised to provide a resolution. Despite multiple follow-ups, including several emails and messages, I have yet to receive any response.Business Response

they originally ordered some impact windows and some NON impact windows. we have been in communication with them this whole time and have reordered the windows that are supposed to be impact that were ordered as non impact at no cost to them. not sure how it passed inspection originally but it did.Customer Answer

I have never heard of these people but for some reason they keep calling me every day, and when I block them they keep calling from different numbers. And I know they are lying because they would text me saying they are confirming my appointment but I never answer so they keep calling but shouldn't the so called appointment have passed by now. They won't stop calling. How did they even get my number? I don't own a home, not interested in window anything! I can't believe how they just incessantly call several times a day. if I haven't answered yet, why keep calling? they even texted me, and I responded "END" to opt out. They sent a confirmation text that I was off the list- yet they keep calling! Please stop this madness, it's harassment at this point!Business Response

Better Business Bureau:They did finally stop calling after I filed this complaint. Their last call (the 4th call on that day alone) was on 8/12/24.
Looking at my call logs, they were calling 5-6 daily! The BBB should require them to change their marketing tactics If it's a bot system making these calls, they need to stop that, use real people & put some quality control into place. No one should be harassed 6 times a day every day from any business!
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Contract for impact resistant doors signed in December 2023. Time for signing to install was reasonable; however, the glass on one of the doors was scratched. This was noted on the paperwork and Reece stated that they would replace the door. This was noted on their paperwork in addition to mine. As of this writing Reece has been back to my residence several time to adjust/finish the installation of several doors but has yet to provide the replacement door. I have contacted them several times about the replacement and have been promised a call back each time without any return calls. I am beginning to think that Reece has no intention of replacing the door.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Reece has not yet replaced the door as promised. Although the company has telephoned, the operations manager stated that they have ordered a replacement door (for the third time). He also stated that the anticipated (and earliest) date that they would have the replacement is 10/9/2024. Since the job is not finished, I cannot claim satisfaction concerning this complaint.

we do not have control over the manufacturer and when they will deliver the new glass. i wish we did , it would make our life a lot easier. We don't want a customer to wait for anything. we do not want complaints , especially when it is outside of our control. this is a manufacturer parts issue not a Reece installation issue. as soon as the parts show up we will install them.Customer Answer

Complaint: 22104277
I am rejecting this response because: This is the third time Reece has supposedly re-ordered the door. Both of the previous times Reece has blamed the "manufacturer" for errors "order number was similar to yours" "last name on another order was very similar to yours". You are the contractor. You are responsible (by contract) for the completion of the job in a timely, professional manner. If your supplier has issues; in this case taking ten months to fill your order for my replacement door, you need a new supplier. Using them is hurting your business!Your company (Reece) has promised a door on the 9th of October. When the door has arrived and is installed correctly, we will talk about accepting your response. Until then, my BBB complaint remains open.

I had 4 hurricane windows installed by Reece Builders beginning around 9-20-23. Job number ***** The price was $19,900 and they were paid in full. They used interior trim board for my exterior trim.(35E2MDFmedium density fiberboard) which is for interior use only and cannot be exposed to water. Consequently, all of the trim swelled and retained water, necessitating costly replacement.I called Reece Builders in Ft ***** on July 8, 2024. I spoke with ***************************** who promised to provide assistance. I sent pictures which he acknowledged receiving. I heard nothing. Today I called 4 times. Each time there was a different excuse. On the phone In a meeting Just stepped out and finallyWill call right backPlease help me get reimbursed by Reece Builders.Business Response

This business will not stop calling. I've never had any contact with these psychopaths. What legitimate business would ever think it is okay to call someone 100+ times? I am rejecting this response because: Insuffcient response/action1. Provide a timestamped screenshot on ******** where this info was provided. I deleted my ******** account 15+ years ago so your contact was unsolicited.
2. Ignoring how you got my number, on what planet is it okay for any reputable business to call ANYONE in the manner your business has called me over the past 2+ months? No one on Earth would label this as anything other than egregious, relentless, and clear harrassment.
3. A do not call list is not going to cut it. It happened to me and it is still happening to others and there are NUMEROUS complaints against Reece *** with the BBB. I want to know what measures your company is going to put in place to make sure that this behavior ceases and does not happen in the future.
4. Lack of suitable response/action will result in my pursuit of legal remedy with the state of Florida's AG.
