How many times can a person make a complaint for the same thing when the customer is not willing to communicate with us? I have attached the last communication with Mr. ***** from 6 weeks ago. I have spoken with the case worker from Crimes against Seniors who has closed the case stating that we have done everything we can. I also attached the email from June 2024 to Mr. ***** and the service ticket showing he was not charged. I have also attached documentation that Mr. ******* soap package was registered in April 2022 and is currently active. His entire complaint is 99% fiction and the only true issues have been addressed and fixed. We are an A+ accredited member of the BBB and do everything we can to honestly and ethically service our customers and the community. ******************* has had some personal struggles but they do not obligate us to give him a refund on a 3 year old purchase. Any assistance or guidance from the BBB would be greatly appreciated.Business Response

I purchased the water treatment system on 6/16/2022 and had it installed at my home. After installation, last year, there was rust coming out of the water spigot. During the last 3 years, I never heard from the company and noone ever stopped by to see if it was working, which is isn't. I repeatedly called gentek and spoke to their spoksperson who was extremely nasty even though i never was disrespectful to her. She told me on my November call to her "how does hanging up on you sound" and hung up on me. I told the spokesperson that i wanted to have them check to see how it was working and was told I would have to pay $149. for that. I then contacted their finance company, **********************. ***********, **. Id person ****** told me he would call to rectify the situation . This complaint is fiction. I've reviewed the calls and it is the customer who is rude and hangs up. We do stand behind our products and are willing to service the customer. Although there is a Lifetime warranty on the unit and warranty parts would be replaced at no charge, like most companies there is a service charge for a technician to come out after the first year.Customer Answer

Dear *******, Gentek is lying! The spokesperson that constantly hung up on me is *******, ************* , ***************** Subequent to my reporting to your office, the system that Gentek installed was leaking and there was rust coming out of my drains.I called them and they sent a tech to fix the problem. on 1/13/2025. He found the resin tank was leaking and ***********. Then on 01/29/2025, ******* sent me a letter that said "the technician found you indeed had a legitimate service issue when he arrived at your home
This is the same person who hung up on me until I contacted your office. As I stated to you and to them they waited for 2 and a half years and then came over only because I contacted you. Now they are lying when they say I hung up on them.
I am seeking a full refund of all that I paid and then they can remove the system. I don't appreciate being called a lyer.
This is a very bad business and needs a ****** on how to treat a customer. ****** ******

the company came after I contacted the BBB. I was correct, I had a leaking water tank. Its about 4 feet tall and was shooting water out the bottom.
After the horrible way I was treated I do want a refund, as I have paid good money for a broken tank and was repeatedly hung up on by their spokesperson. This is not a company with and kind of customer service and you have to contact the BBB to have them respond. Very poor management and company relations. I don't want to deal with them anymore and want a refund of 2 and one half years of $77.94 payments for broken equipment. ****** ******

The company has me paying for a system that was broken. They have not offered any compensation for this. I feel that I would be satisfied for a payment of $1500. for having me pay for a system that was broken and a company that repeatedly hung up the phone on me. Taking advantage of senior citizens. Salesman sent installer same day as demonstration. Got my 80 year old dad to buy $8,000 water system with 10% interest. Then system ryns out of salt in 3 weeks. No one answers the phone at customer support. Finally got response from finance mgr, told me he’d call back & didn’t. Tech didn’t show up to add salt and troubleshoot. Not sure what billing adjustments are being requested or appropriate. Mr. ***** ** (the actual customer) has not called for service. As far as no one answering the phone, both the finance manager and front office have spoken to Mr. ***** ***. I spoke to the customer myself this morning offering service. He stated that he did not need service and had added salt to the system himself. As far as no one showing up to deliver salt, we do not offer salt delivery. My Dad told them to contact me and they coincidentally left that out of their response. Anyone trying to call the Company will have to call select an extension, hang up and keep doing this then forced to leave a message and atleast in my case they don’t call me back when promised,, ie their finance Manager Bill. Doing a demo and installation in the same day is the definition of pressure selling leading to an unplanned impulse purchase with a very ill Sr Citizen on a fixed income is SHADY at best. He wasn’t give a few days to sleep on it and ask his children’s opinions. Reputable water filtration companies offer free salt service for an entire year which is the case with ********* And my brand ******** system didn’t run out of salt in 3 weeks. Charging my Dad $8,000 plus 10% interest on the $8,000 is obscene.Business Response

Same deal. Was told I would get a $100 gift card that I never received the day the guy came and did his run thru with the water test. Thought it was a good deal but my gut told me other wise so after agreeing to move forward, a hour or so later I called to cancel plus the reviews was horrible and then they lied about being great on BBB. I’m also sending a cancellation letter before my 3 day Grace federal period and keeping documentation of this for future mishaps. I will also be monitoring my credit for any changes with this company because information was asked in order to get the gift card. Nothing but lies because I haven’t read one positive review and the reviews they tell you about are old.Business Response

Same deal. The demonstration was just done yesterday, so no, the gift card has not been sent yet. Genesis Environmental Technologies (the company name printed at the top of your purchase agreement) is an A+ accredited member of the BBB. Our manufacturer Entek is not an A+ accredited member because Entek does not directly deal with consumers. Your purchase agreement has already been cancelled after you called our office and spoke to someone (which is what your desired result was). As far as monitoring your credit, the information was asked because you wished to finance the purchase and was processed as requested. The credit information had nothing to do with the gift card. There were no lies told to you on our part and your gift card will be processed and sent in a timely manner. Rather than complaining to the BBB you could have called our office at ************ or gone to getsolarwater.com and used the gift card verification link. We do business honestly and ethically in the community, and we always have. Should you change your mind and decide to get a water treatment system in the future we would love the opportunity to provide that to you.Initial Complaint

I agreed to have my water tested after receiving a post card in the mail from this company. Part of the sales pitch talks about how ice cubes will have clear edges when the water is pure and I will save time cleaning because pure water does not leave water spots on shower doors and sinks. I was told that several large hotel chains use their product and they recently obtained the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. So I have 3 main concerns that I asked the salesperson: 1) What happens if I get the unit and I do not see any difference in my water? He said I have 30 days and if I am not happy I can return the unit 2) I also asked if they will perform all the same tests after the unit is installed? He said a quality control person would come after install and retest. 3) Will the unit be installed on a pad? He said no, but if I wanted one, he would come and install it personally. The unit was installed on March 3 but not on a pad as promised by sales person. The quality assurance guy came and did a soap test, not all the other tests which included looking at the ice cubes. I told him the system was not working because my ice cubes looked the same and I still had lots of water spots. His response was give the system some time. So after a few days I try to contact the company to get help and leave a message with the service department and get no call back. I call back a few days later and get a full mailbox which I cannot leave a message on, so I hang up use the option to talk to the main desk. I spoke to a woman at the main desk that promised to help me and she never called back. I spoke to the owner of the company requesting the unit be uninstalled almost 2 weeks ago and no response. I spoke with Bill in the finance department today because I financed the unit and will not be making payments. Lastly, there is not good housekeeping seal of approval on the unit. I am convinced this company practices deceptive practices.Business Response
