    Requested an estimate for a drainage system to be installed between my house and my neighbor's house to divert rainwater off the back of my property. Received estimate on September 13, 2021. Told the owner, Wayne ******* from the beginning that we were going to get this done. We also added a back patio to the job. The quote for the drainage was $7500 and the quote for the patio was $12,500, totaling $20,000. Didn't hear back from him until the end of November. Owner said he needed $8000 up front for materials. Paid him $8000 on December 9, 2021. His crew showed up on January 19, 2022 for the install on the drainage system. His quote/contract stated he was going to use 6" pipe-perforated with sock/sleeve on outside of pipe. They did not use that. They used 4" pipe, with no perforation, and no sock/sleeve on outside of pipe. I know this because i had to dig it up recently. Quote/contract also states 6 catch basins. They only installed 5. They also did not install the system correctly because it will not drain properly and water backs up onto my front porch. I am worried that if we get another hurricane, that it will flood the front of my house. I called the owner and he said they would come back and "tweak it". Long story short, the owner has told me several times he was coming, and nothing. This entire process of dealing with him, he has lied numerous times and flat out refuses to come back to my house. If i do get him on the phone, it's just another excuse. We have paid in full and treated him and his employees with nothing but respect. I am also going to file a small claims against him in Walton County, FL.

    To whom it may concern,
    I have been in business since 2001 and this the first BBB
    complaint I have had. This certain job was done 2 1/2 hours away
    from our original home base. I took this job only because I have known the customers wife Holly for over 30 years. This customer was extremely difficult to work with. Mr. ***** was extremely disrespectful, rude and hostile on the phone with me during conversations before the start of the job as I was waiting for materials to arrive. We almost did not take the job at all because of this. He did not understand the ordering of materials process. Which it took time for materials to come in and be delivered.This year has been difficult for any business in ordering certain materials ( time constraint, labor, certain materials unavailable.) Most of my materials in my profession have to be ordered and paid for at that time and that's where my up front deposits come in so they are not coming out of my own pocket. He was rushing the job when he has no idea of the inner workings of this profession.
    Once we accessed issues with the property we did not need 6inch pipe, 4 inch would suffice. We did not a 6th drainage box
    Because of length of between front and back of home. The drainage does work but I agree the flow speed was not 100 percent so I agreed to come back and access and solve. I agreed to come back when I was in that area for another job which would be a few weeks. Before I was able to get to back He called and I told him we would be back but he said no not to come back to his property. A few days later he also then called back again saying he made a complaint in which I told him I would still be able to address the issue since we would be in the area in a few days and he declined any help from us.

    1. I asked the owner numerous times if he wanted to take this job, he said yes. While he was working on my house, he said he had jobs going on in Mobile, AL, as well as, Tampa, FL. Both of which are farther away than my house.
    2. I was absolutely rude and disrespectful on numerous occasions, due to the fact that the owner NEVER would call me back when he said he would or give me any updates when he said he would. I was also rude and disrespectful when I paid him $8000 dollars and didn't hear from him for over a month.
    3. The job I'm making a complaint about is not the patio in which the owner is referring to in his response. I paid him for two jobs. The drainage job is the one I'm making a complaint about. There were no materials that needed to be ordered for this job. The materials needed for this job are in stock at 3 different stores within 5 miles if my home. The owner posted pictures of the drainage job in his response. Look closely, there is standing water inside the catch basin he took a picture of. That is because it does not drain properly. He never said he would come back to fix the issue "when he was in the area for another job." He told me on numerous occasions he would fix it, but one excuse after another. The most humerous excuse after I called him for the seventeenth time was "well ya know, it was cinco da mayo, sooo...". And since he wants to bring the other job into the complaint (the patio), we had a problem with that as well. His guys busted a sprinkler pipe while installing and it took an act of congress to get him to fix that. He did call a leak detection service to locate the leak, which was nice, but he won't pay them the money he owes them. How do I know you ask? They keep calling me looking for the owner wanting to know where their money is. Bottom line, the owner is a LIAR. I will not ever do business with hom again or recommend him to anyone I know. I will attach the screenshots from my wife's phone begging him to come fix our drainage issues once she get's back in town.
