I want to pass on my extreme displeasure with Badger Bob Services. We bought a new home with HVAC installed and maintained by Badger Bob. After a year or so, the system motor needed replaced. We learned that the motor was under warranty but the labor to install was not covered. To make things worse, they wanted to charge me twice. First, for a used motor until the new motor arrived, then for the installation of the new motor. Last year, we had no a/c and was told that we needed a new compressor. Again, the compressor was under warranty but the labor( for 3 hours work) would cost $2,100! Again this year, the a/ c wouldn’t work! They again stated I needed another compressor and would cost me another $2,000 to install! After I complained, they sent out another technician who said that” the compressor was fine”. Do I need a new compressor or not? Did I really need one last year? I spoke to nice people in their office but none had the authority to address this issue. They said they would have someone call in 24 hours. It has been 7 days and no one has called. Very disappointed in Badger Bob.Badger Bob's Services, Inc.

Dear BBB/ Mr. Vincent S,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. At Badger Bob’s Services, we take customer feedback seriously and are committed to providing the best service possible. We truly regret any frustration you’ve experienced and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the service history on your system.
Your home, built by Taylor Morrison and closed on March 17, 2020, was covered under our two-year labor warranty, with the equipment itself backed by a 10-year parts warranty. Below is a detailed history of the service we’ve provided:
Service History Overview:
10/18/2022: Blower motor failure diagnosed, temporary motor installed ($75 trip fee + $83.60 for motor).
10/25/2022: OEM motor installed, system restored to manufacturer specifications ($269.15 labor charge).
1/31/2023, 8/8/2023, 1/30/2024: Routine maintenance performed.
1/30/2024: Technician identified an issue with the compressor tripping the breaker, a strong indication of internal electrical failure.
1/30/2024: A senior service technician was dispatched at no charge due to your BBS maintenance membership. Diagnosis confirmed, and a 20% discount was applied to the compressor replacement ($1,701.62).
2/8/2024: Compressor replaced, system restored to full operation.
3/5/2024: Service call for high head pressure; slight refrigerant adjustment made, system operating normally.
7/23/2024: Routine maintenance performed.
1/24/2025: Service call – technician diagnosed an internal overload preventing the compressor from running. Protocol dictates allowing 24 hours for a reset before confirming failure.
1/30/2025: Our Operations Manager, Jason H, contacted you directly, explaining that if the compressor had truly failed, we would replace it at no cost since it was still under warranty. He also reassured you that we would advocate for a full condenser replacement through Lennox/Taylor Morrison if necessary.
1/31/2025: Follow-up visit confirmed the internal overload had reset, and the unit was running and cooling as expected.
Commitment to Quality Service
Our technicians are highly trained professionals who have no financial or performance-based incentives for condemning units without sound diagnostic evidence. In cases of uncertainty, we always have a second technician verify the diagnosis to ensure accuracy.
We completely understand your concerns, and while mechanical failures are sometimes unavoidable, we consistently strive to help our customers in the most affordable way possible. In this case, that included a 20% discount on the first compressor replacement and our ongoing commitment to making things right should further issues arise.
We value your business and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or if there’s anything further we can do to assist you.Review fromS Roberts

Well, we thought they were a decent company to deal with when we bought our new refrigerator from them a little over 2 years ago (and it was still under warranty) and believed them when they said that because of that we were to receive "priority" status if we needed service. That was not the case recently when on a Saturday that refrigerator had an issue with the freezer not working. We called for service since the freezer was full of food and we didn't want to lose all of that considering the price of groceries these days. After getting the answering service and having to wait for someone to call us back, they called and informed us that "they were too busy" to come out that day and it would be Tuesday (3 days later) before they could get to us! Wow, seriously!! A freezer not freezing and someone might lose all their food in it and you expect them to wait 3 days!! Oh, and the refrigerator the customer bought from you cost them $3700.00, not just a basic refrigerator!! Needless to say, they have lost a customer and hopefully more will read this review and think twice about using them!! Luckily, we were able to find another Appliance repair business that came to our home that evening and repaired the freezer so we could save our food!!Badger Bob's Services, Inc.

Ms. *******,
I appreciate your bring this to our attention and I apologize for this experience. We have had an influx of demand for repairs on major household appliances since the flood and two hurricanes. We could have done things differently here and I will investigate the calls and make sure it doesn't happen again. I'm glad you were able to get the attention you deserve on the repair.

Thanks for the reply but you really could have handled things differently and I do understand that there are many in need at this time after 3 hurricanes! But that doesn't change the fact that we had to pay for a repair that should have been taken care of since the issue that was wrong with it is still covered under a 2-5 year warranty according to the book that came with the refrigerator! Due to our having to use someone else instead of you being an authorized Whirlpool repair company, we had to pay almost $300 to get the repair done! Your apology really doesn't change the fact that you have lost a customer (which I'm sure you really don't care about).Review fromStephany C

Basically this guy Daniel was the equivalent to a crooked auto mechanic, he replaced a part on my AC unit, said he thinks its another part and repaired that, then said it needs to be charged and it would be another $900 "but probably wouldn't work because there is probably a leak somewhere that he wouldn't be able to fix". Then said he can setup a sales call to get estimates on a new unit. I told him we didn't want new parts if it wasn't going to fix the unit, why would we pay $700 for parts and still have no air conditioning? He said he would put the old parts back but when it came time to pay for the service call he charged me for the new parts and said he could not take them back because he could not sell "used parts". Only after I asked what was going on. I'm so pissed, what the hell happened today? Called the customer service and have not heard back, I'm not even sure he actually replaced any parts

Mr. C****,
I am sorry this is happening and I’m glad we are able to get the manufacturer to get us the replacement parts immediately so you can get some sort of comfort. We’ve steeply discounted these repairs and will be discussing some potential discounts with the manufacturer next week. If this happens we will certainly pass this along to you. I do apologize for any inconvenience this defective manufactured part has caused you and your family.Review fromL. L.

Do not patronize this business. Very deceptive business practices relating to job estimates and costs. Jobs are "package" priced. I was shocked to be handed an invoice for $1620 after replacing a nine year old ********** water heater covered (at no cost) under warranty through Rheem. Final cost was not provided beforehand. No management call back after hours for problems/questions. Poor communication and customer service.Badger Bob's Services, Inc.

Lu Ann L,
Thank you for your review. I understand you've already spoken with our Plumbing manager and he's provide your signed approval of the estimate of the work conducted. I'm not sure where the confusion may be as the technician explained how the warranty process worked for manufactured water heaters. I'm glad he was able to accommodate you on refunding your original trip charge for the service. I do know that there are some communications channels that we can improve upon and we will be working that through. I thank you for your patience, business and I am sorry this experience did not meet your expectations.L. L.

Gave them a chance for 3 years. Multiple visits and service contracts - Replaced and Re- welded my condenser coil. Stated that it was a known factory unit. About $1H.- Soon after my starting condenser failed. They replaced it $350. The technician It should have been replaced with the coil. I called to speak with a manger 3 times. No callback.- Air handler failed. Paid extra for a second person to help get the unit in the garage. Worked fine. But the drain pipe was installed improperly and would shut down requiring service. After two follow up visits, I repaired the drain pipe and I have no further issues. - Condenser coils leaked. Technician welded and replaced the freon. $800.- Now Condenser is leaking again. I am trying a different company. Main reason. They scheduled a 10 am response. Then called to tell me between 2 and 5. After arguing with the arrogant lad. She said take it or I don't want service. So I have moved on.Only once were they on time in all these visits. The Manager did call me this time. Said he could make it right and get a tech immediately after I cancelled my service. Played me for a sucker for too long. Though that does seem to be the Florida way!Badger Bob's Services, Inc.
