In November of 2023 we contracted with Pampered Movers to move our belongings from *********, ******* to ***********, ******* paying them $13,383.24. Some of our belongings were delivered on 11/3/23 by Wheaton Worldwide Movers. Upon arrival our things were piled into our garage and no paperwork was offered to check off items as they were unpacked. While sorting through the mess, we noticed several items were damaged and several were missing. We immediately filed a claim expecting full recovery of the $4,586 in damaged, lost, or stolen goods since we had purchased the full coverage insurance. We were told by Pampered Movers that they had no responsibility in the matter since it was ******* who had actually done the move. They were the ones who sub-contracted with ******* and all our dealings were with Pampered Movers. ******* also refused to take responsibility saying that we couldn't prove anything was missing so it was our word against theirs. They did pay $1,540 out in damages but said we were out of luck for the missing items. I would expect a company who took $13,383.24 for a service would stand behind that service. This seems criminal and someone should be held responsible.Business response

Pampered Movers is an agent of Wheaton. Pampered Movers booked the job and Wheaton Van Lines hauled it to her destination address. We have no affiliation with the driver or the company that ******* assigned to haul her shipment. We helped her put a claim in with Wheaton Van lines and she accepted a settlement directly with them. Once Wheaton and the customer agree on a settlement, the booking agent (Pampered Movers) is not allowed to pay any claims related to the customer. ********************** also did not handle any of the loading, driving, and delivery of this shipment. I have attached the settlement sheet that the customer has signed with ******* that she agrees to the settlement which she has been compensated for.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: Pampered movers contracted with a sub-par moving company and ultimately are the ones who received payment from me. They as a company should stand behind the services they provide. They have never accepted responsibility in any way and that speaks volumes about the ethics of the company as a whole.
Sincerely,

We at Pampered Movers are terribly sorry for what has happened but unfortunately there is nothing we can do. We did not sub contract the move. We are agents of ************************ We have already addressed this with the customer and our current position remains. BBB of ************, can you please look into the documents that were submitted by Pampered Movers?
