On 4-18-2023 I paid World of Books (Wob) $12.22 on my USAA **** card for a dvd of "The Story of the Weeping Camel". I received a notification on my other email address ********************************* on 4-19-2023 that "Your order is on its way". It hadn't arrived by 4-27-2023, when I notified them that I wanted a tracking number. No reply received from Wob. In a few days I received the dvd. I tried playing it on my dvd player. I got the notice that the dvd was not playable. When I put the dvd in my computer, I got the analysis: "Region code not specified or defined incorrectly. Region code for **************, *****, ************". I wrote to Wob on its website. No response. I want a full refund if they can't send me the right dvd that is playable in the ***. I want a code for mailing back the inappropriate dvd.I will be out of the country May 6-May 18. If I need to mail (with authorization code) back the dvd, I will do it when I return to the ***. In the meantime: I am unimpressed with Wob's customer service. No care in selecting the correct dvd, and unresponsive.***************************************Business Response

Mar 24, 2023: Book trade created using Ziffit app. Trade ID ******************, 2023: Books processed and valued at $35.23. App indicated paid. Today Apr 30, 2023: inquiries have been sent but payout has not been received.Bank information and other personal information was submitted to Ziffit/World of Books.I have asked for confirmation of the bank transaction and have not received it.Im very concerned that this is fraud or identity theft.I want payment processed and an invoice or books returned. Ordered PS3 game from World of Books on April 4th. Although "item was picked up by a shipping partner at 8:49 am on April 5th"..."This does not indicate receipt by the **** or the actual mailing date. It appears there has been no action taken by WoB or their shipping partner to deliver to **** for shipment. I put in an order for 3 books from WOB on 3/1/23. Within the next 48 hours I got 2 emails saying that 2 of the items had shipped (but no tracking number provided in the email), the third said "pending". Now, over a week later, I still have not gotten confirmation of the shipment of my third item, and when I try to check on the status of any of the items on the chatbot on the website can't find the order and tells me to contact ***************** which is supposed to contact me "within 48 hrs". Well, after 2 attempts of trying that, still no response. I don't mind the longer shipping times of WOB, but I just want to be able to confirm that my order was processed, and all three items I ordered are on their way, but contacting anyone at this business seems to be useless so far.Business Response

I had a look into this for you and it seems like this was damaged.
Unfortunately, we dont have another copy of The Maltese Falcon in stock. But, if you like, we can replace it with an alternative title of a similar value to the one originally purchased.
However the replacement item must be another used item. We are unable to issue New items as replacements.
If you see an item you like that is sold by **, then drop me an email back with the EAN/ISBN number (in the product description) and I'll arrange for that to be sent on.

I ordered two books from WOB on February 19th. On February 22nd I received an email with the following info:The Twyford Code (Very Good Condition)- Shipped The 7 1/2 Deaths of ********************************* (Very Good Condition)- Pending The following week, the Pending book arrived (yay) but no word on the other book. I emailed WOB to find out where that book was. No response. I gave it about a week and emailed again. Still no response. It seems they only want to respond if somebody files a complaint with BBB, so here I am. I would just like to know what happened with The Twyford Code, if it has really been shipped, if it has been shipped is there a tracking number, and if they have no info then I would like a refund.Business Response

Had a scarce paperback listed on my **** 'watch list'After weeks of checking, 2 copies appear at the weekend from World of Books one *****, one ****** (!)Both listed as 'very good' - I paid the *****.I've had issues before with WoB- but thought it was worth a shot.Waited for dispatch... four days later noticed the ****** copy seemed to have sold. Still waiting.Next day refunded. No message- nothing.If you look at WoB's feedback (nearly **** negative in last year) this happens ALL the time.Sometime a book that didn't get sent appears again- for more money.Poor stock keeping is not the reason that items are not sent out- not that frequently.In my case this is a rare-ish book and to have two copies would be unusual- at best.I believe this is some sort of scam and certainly must breach ****'s sales policies.It's time WoB were brought to book.Business Response

Seller doesn't use regular mail, which I would pay for.They use orange mail, so Items take a lot longer, average about a month to get here from them and this is in ******* not from overseas.If the long wait time isn't bad enough, sometimes items don't show up at all and I am disabled and can't have my money tied up and be waiting because it causes stress.Seller seems to think the problem on this end is patience but if you look at the order date and tracking it tells a different story.I am very patient, the *** should be enough.Real mail gets here alot faster.The slow mail service isn't the sellers fault (although they keep using it, so it kind of is their fault) but this guy calls himself a Hero who answers the emails and he isn't very in touch, doesn't even know it doesn't take something 4 days to get here from it's last tracking place which is *******.Thats called placating somebody and it isn't nice, no one does biz with a company or business that makes them feel that way.All I want at this point is a refund because these people are committed to using their free archaic mail system.I have learned now not to buy anything from them but it should be public that they are rascals, like I said,I'm disabled and worry about others.Its their system, all they can do is treat me like I want free stuff because they don't have reliable mail.I don't need thatBusiness Response

I had ordered a TV show on DVD from this online book store and they have never shipped nor provided any shipping information. After my online order was completed my credit card company issued a new card due to suspected fraud. Their ratings online show many similar situations as well as a 1 star rating (wish I had looked beforehand).
