  A horrible caulking job on our slider windows (34 ft.). The glazing bead was to be removed and a small bead of caulk was to replace the glazing bead opening No tape was used along the windows; the glazing bead was roughly pulled out which can cause injury to the seal of the double pane glass. In some places the caulk is a half inch wide. In two places, the caulk was placed over the slider part which means you can't open the window. We have had window companies; contractors examine the job. All had negative comments about the caulking. We were told we can never have glass replacement because of the way it is caulked. We will have to replace the entire unitframe and glass which is very expensive and disruptive to the interior of our home. The stress, the inconvenience and living with this problem is horrendous. The installer has the title of tech which is a moot point. When we made our initial contact, we thought we were dealing with SMP, Inc and now we are told that they are named SMP Maintenance, LLC. They sent HB Windows to do the caulk job. HB Windows was bought by SMP Maintenacewe were never told about HB, so it was a surprise to see the HB truck arrive. We are taking time to submit this review so that others are not stung with such a costly charge and damage, as we have been. This job was done on July 8, 2022. ******** **

  To whom it may concern,
  In researching the "Complaint", looks like we were called by this client a couple months ago to remove and replace some sun baked glazing in her windows. We visited the site provided an estimate, discussed options, customer agreed and we returned to complete the work. We offered replacement glazing which would have been the way to go, however the client was addiment we not do this. They questioned if the new glazing would eventually fail like the old glazing did, we assured them it would, welcome to Florida! The sealant was not the best option we agree, however the client felt otherwise and they elected not to replace the glazing. They are now complaining, clearly not happy about there decision....and decided to "Tattle" The notion someone told them they would have to replace an entire window because of some sealant is laughable for anyone in the industry that knows better. Sounds like "Karma"... turns out they are going to get that stinging they spoke about after all!! Our trucks are professionally wrapped with our company name on them, they say HB Windows on one side and SMP on the other...my office spoke numerous times to this client and they new full well the name of our company. Since 1974 HB WINDOWS has been providing quality work at a very fair price at the exact same number!! We wish this client the best regardless of the validity and ambiguity associated with these very careless statements!
