      I used Coastline Title to close on a home. It is my understanding that title companies must ensure that all open permits on a home are closed prior to even being able to close on a home. This company allowed me to close on a home with six open permits.

      We are a title company, we act as a neutral 3rd party that just handles escrow and payment.

      There are commom misconceptions about our services. What we are able to see and research are liens, not permits; you would still need to hire 3rd party surveyors, etc. to research the property.

      Title companies do not touch permitting, however as courtesy we reached out to the 3rd party business that this person used and found that all permits hav been closed now. 

      We left a message for her this morning to put her mind at ease before the hurricane.
