I received a solicitation letter in the mail from this company about a business certificate in my name. Ive never given this company any of my information and never been a business owner. I dont have a business so why am I getting this letter in the mail for $94 when I DO NOT OWN A BUSINESS. This literally makes no sense because I never started a business yet this company has my full name and address. How does this happen? I would like my information removed from yall system or whatever because I dont need a certificate for a business with my full name.

      Good Afternoon,

After checking with the Georgia Secretary of state you started a business in April of this year named "*************************** *********************** ***". The control number assigned by the Secretary of State is 24082941. You then terminated the *** a few days later. This along with your complete address is publicly available to anyone who searches the state website. You can pull up this business information for free using the following website: ***************************************. The solicitation was sent before the termination was reflected in the records. We do not send multiple solicitation letters so you will not receive any additional communication from us. If you receive additional correspondence it is likely from other companies. Take care.

I am rejecting this response because:
I never started a business in the first place and if I did it definitely would not be named with my full government name so it all makes no sense
      Sincerely,

      ***************************

None of this is within the control of our company. You need to take this up with the Georgia Secretary of State. Please reach out to them and ask them why the have an LLC listed in your government name. However, filing a complaint with a company that has nothing to do with this discrepancy is not going to solve your issues.

I received a letter from Georgia document processing services and I thought it was the state asking me for $94.50 for my certificate for my new business. This company has no affiliation with the state and I would like to have my $94.50 returned. It wasnt until after I saw them take the money and try to take another transaction from me that I realized that it was fraud and went online and saw the fraud alert. The state should not allow this.

      Good Afternoon,

Firstly, we have no way to pull up your order information without the name of your business. Secondly, our company is not fraudulent and does not simply "take" more money from clients' accounts. This is fabricated information. Our online order system has no way to repeatedly bill a client or duplicate orders, all orders must be submitted by a client online themselves. We provide a notice on EVERY SINGLE letter stating that we have no affiliation with the government or any state agency. If customers fail to read mail that they receive, that is not the responsibility of our company. Our legal team has reviewed our business practices as well as our solicitation letters and confirmed that we are following all state rules and regulations. Additionally, we provide a refund request option on our website and a way to email us directly should you have any questions. Good luck on your new business endeavor.

      Thank You,

       Georgia Document Processing Team

I have attached the letter that I received from the company. There is no refund request process here and it has the name of my company that I would like to receive the refund of $94.50.

      Hello,

I have reviewed your letter and see that you Certificate was provided to you via email. I would've extended a partial refund to you for the majority of your order, but unfortunately the refund transaction failed to process. This is normally because you have cancelled or changed your card. I am unable to offer you even a partial refund when your card is not allowing processing. Thank you.

** business documents solicitation falling under Georgia's Fair Business Practices Act.Praying on new small business owners into giving them money for documents they receive free from the state or cost a fraction to get.Have not been able to contact the merchant via their phone or email.

It is made clear on our website's terms and conditions that when services are rendered a refund is not possible. We went out of our way to refund this customer's order anyway (minus the cost of the labor law compliance poster, shipping costs, and the state's fees for the Certificate of Existence). We have legal counsel and have consulted them regarding our business practices to ensure adherence to the state rules and regulations. All of our correspondence has clear verbiage regarding the fact that we are NOT related to a government agency nor do we claim to be one. Our business offers legitimate services and products for new business owners, and we are clear about who we are and what we do. No further action will be taken at this time as a refund was already issued.

On Thursday January 25th we received an official looking letter from this company that states that we have to complete the form to receive a certificate of existence. They are preying upon people who are falsely alleged to believe that this is a necessary step in the process of registering a business with the state. Furthermore they are using the name GA Document Processing Services to further mislead people. I believe that this is a fraudulent act that requires immediate legal action.

Company impersonated Georgia Secretary of ************** for business license issuance. Multiple variations of company name used.

      Business response

      02/21/2024

      Good Afternoon,

Our company is a legitimate service and products company servicing the state of Georgia. We have never been registered under a different name nor do we use aliases. I believe that you may be confusing our company with someone else. Without providing your complete business name used for order placement, we are unable to provide you with a refund for your order. We also offer a refund option on our website. It is in bad taste to spread misinformation. Our company's solicitation letters very clearly state that our company has no affiliation with the state of Georgia and further clarifies the services and products that we offer. It is important to take the time to thoroughly read mail that you receive. Please feel free to provide additional details regarding your company so that we are able to research your order.
