I received this 2024 Certificate of ***** Request Form which I didn't request and is not required. I paid $133.50 for which I am requesting a refund.

      Good Afternoon,

Thank you for reaching out. You stated that you did not request the form, but that you placed an order. Now you have decided you want to cancel. If you order has already been processed, then there is a chance that it can't be cancelled. However, you did not provide a business name and that is the only method I am able to use to research your order. Please provide the business name in full as it is written on your letter.

      Thank you,

      Good Afternoon,

We did receive your email during order checkout. The email on file is ********************. Your Georgia Certificate was provided via email to that email address. In the past, we did not issue receipts as our orders are typically fulfilled within 36 hours of order placement. However, we have now enacted a system to provide an emailed receipt. If you are unable to locate your Certificate, please check your spam folders and reach back out to us if it needs to be resent.

      Thank you!

I received their letter a few days after filing online for my LLC. At a glance the document seems legitimate. It's prepared in a way to look official. The top line to cover their legal bases does state in a jumbled font that its a solicitation. The rest of the document however is aimed at prompting the recipient to pay a fee that is completely unnecessary and a due date to prompt a response within a couple weeks. Furthermore, there is a QR Code and a website they direct the reader to so they can promptly pay online without the need of mailing the letter back. Finally, the bottom line on the letter states to the reader that if they pay online they will not need to mail the letter back. This is a scam. It's only purpose is to make a quick buck off entrepreneurs trying to figure out how to launch their own business. Ignore this letter if you receive it. It is of zero value. It is not needed to form an LLC. Only stick with government recognized sites for these matters. Its sad that this type of business even exists and it does because unfortunately it no doubt receives payments from folks that believe this is an official step in the process of launching their own business. I was not fooled by this. I have a background in IT security and catching these kinds of solicitations for what they are. This feedback is solely for the purpose of informing others to avoid this. If you receive their letter promptly throw it in the trash or at least use the paper for a fireplace firestarter so at least the tree that was killed for the paper has a purpose because the ink thats on it does not.

      Good Evening,

Thank you for taking the time to reach out. Our business follows all legal guidelines and has consulted with a legal team regarding our procedures. There is nothing illegal or misleading in our solicitations. We provide multiple different services to new business owners who may not have the time or patience to do these things for themselves. This is no different from a tax filing service, recruiter, or bakery. You're capable of baking a cake, but may want to skip the headache and chore of baking it. Therefore, you pay a huge markup for a cake at the ***** or grocer and happily eat it. The world is full of service oriented companies and we are no different. Take *****************, I hope the warmth from your fire of letters helps you out.

Although what they are doing is not illegal, it is quite misleading. Please see below for a summary from the Georgia Secretary of State concerning any letters sent from this organization:(*******) - Secretary of State *********************************** is alerting Georgias business community about misleading mailers that were sent out to new businesses across the state. Many of Georgias new business owners have received deceptive letters that could mislead them into believing additional fees are necessary to complete their business registration process.Georgias entrepreneurs are crucial to a successful and thriving Georgia economy, said *************. As a small business owner myself, I am working to help ensure Georgias small businesses are protected from scams and misleading practices. These mailers, a sample of which can be found here , intentionally look like official government mail requesting $72.50 for a certificate of existence. The language in the letter is worded to imply that purchasing a certificate of existence is a necessary next step for the formation of your business. The language could trick new businesses into ordering a certificate through their service at several times the cost of doing so directly with the Secretary of ************** The soliciting organization uses a false implication of urgency to pressure new business owners into unnecessarily spending the extra money.New domestic Georgia business formations do not need certificates of existence to complete registration as businesses in Georgia.Cost to order a certificate of existence directly from the ****************** Online: $10. Paper: $20 . Certificates of existence can be ordered easily on the Secretary of States website HERE .The misleading mailer effort is not new and has happened before both in Georgia and across the country.National watchdog and government organizations have already warned extensively about these misleading solicitations

Thank you for reaching out. Although the Secretary of State did make that remark they were not referring to our business. Additionally, we don't charge $72.50 for anything out our company. There are companies who do not utilize correct disclosures to let everyone know that their letter is a solicitation, but again that is not a practice of our company. Take care and best wishes.

This company sent a very official looking letter stating I needed to pay to finish filing my LLC. Only after making the transaction did I realize there was a statement that this was a solicitation and an elective service.

      Good Evening,

We have received your complaint and reviewed the details. It appears that you may have misread our letter. It does not state that you need to pay anything to our company in order to complete your LLC filing. Also, as you mentioned our letter does clearly state at the top that it is a solicitation. I'm not sure what more is being requested in this complaint?

This company is a scam. It sends out letters pretending to be an agency working with the State of Georgia to file documents for your LLC. They make it seem like the letter is from the State. It is a scam preying on new business owners. When you try to get a refund their website will not let you proceed. Companies and the people that run them seek to try and dupe new business owners with fake legitimacy and say they are there to file paper work for your LLC and send you documents that turns out they get from the state FOR FREE and charge you for it. It is impossible to get a hold of them to get a refund. If you are charged immediately file a dispute with your bank.

      Business response

      Hello,

Unfortunately, your complaint is full of inaccurate information. Our company is a legitimate registered business that operates under all legal guidelines. We have a legal team that has reviewed and approved all solicitations and policies. Additionally, you sent us a refund request May 6th and received a response THE SAME DAY. You also have been provided with legitimate documents that you can't obtain for FREE. You also received a refund. Spreading malicious false information about a business or person is defamation which is an offense that individuals can be sued for in a court of law. Lastly, our solicitations all contain a disclosure on the very top that clearly state we are not a government agency and the letter contained herein is a solicitation. Please try and be more careful with the statements that you make that are public record as they are admissible in court. Take care.

I received a solicitation letter in the mail from this company about a business certificate in my name. Ive never given this company any of my information and never been a business owner. I dont have a business so why am I getting this letter in the mail for $94 when I DO NOT OWN A BUSINESS. This literally makes no sense because I never started a business yet this company has my full name and address. How does this happen? I would like my information removed from yall system or whatever because I dont need a certificate for a business with my full name.

      Good Afternoon,

After checking with the Georgia Secretary of state you started a business in April of this year named "*************************** *********************** ***". The control number assigned by the Secretary of State is 24082941. You then terminated the *** a few days later. This along with your complete address is publicly available to anyone who searches the state website. You can pull up this business information for free using the following website: ***************************************. The solicitation was sent before the termination was reflected in the records. We do not send multiple solicitation letters so you will not receive any additional communication from us. If you receive additional correspondence it is likely from other companies. Take care.

None of this is within the control of our company. You need to take this up with the Georgia Secretary of State. Please reach out to them and ask them why the have an LLC listed in your government name. However, filing a complaint with a company that has nothing to do with this discrepancy is not going to solve your issues.

I received a letter from Georgia document processing services and I thought it was the state asking me for $94.50 for my certificate for my new business. This company has no affiliation with the state and I would like to have my $94.50 returned. It wasnt until after I saw them take the money and try to take another transaction from me that I realized that it was fraud and went online and saw the fraud alert. The state should not allow this.

      Business response

      03/27/2024

      Good Afternoon,

Firstly, we have no way to pull up your order information without the name of your business. Secondly, our company is not fraudulent and does not simply "take" more money from clients' accounts. This is fabricated information. Our online order system has no way to repeatedly bill a client or duplicate orders, all orders must be submitted by a client online themselves. We provide a notice on EVERY SINGLE letter stating that we have no affiliation with the government or any state agency. If customers fail to read mail that they receive, that is not the responsibility of our company. Our legal team has reviewed our business practices as well as our solicitation letters and confirmed that we are following all state rules and regulations. Additionally, we provide a refund request option on our website and a way to email us directly should you have any questions. Good luck on your new business endeavor.

I have attached the letter that I received from the company. There is no refund request process here and it has the name of my company that I would like to receive the refund of $94.50.

      Business response

      Hello,

I have reviewed your letter and see that you Certificate was provided to you via email. I would've extended a partial refund to you for the majority of your order, but unfortunately the refund transaction failed to process. This is normally because you have cancelled or changed your card. I am unable to offer you even a partial refund when your card is not allowing processing. Thank you.

** business documents solicitation falling under Georgia's Fair Business Practices Act.Praying on new small business owners into giving them money for documents they receive free from the state or cost a fraction to get.Have not been able to contact the merchant via their phone or email.

      Business response

It is made clear on our website's terms and conditions that when services are rendered a refund is not possible. We went out of our way to refund this customer's order anyway (minus the cost of the labor law compliance poster, shipping costs, and the state's fees for the Certificate of Existence). We have legal counsel and have consulted them regarding our business practices to ensure adherence to the state rules and regulations. All of our correspondence has clear verbiage regarding the fact that we are NOT related to a government agency nor do we claim to be one. Our business offers legitimate services and products for new business owners, and we are clear about who we are and what we do. No further action will be taken at this time as a refund was already issued.
