After some searching online, I reached out to a company (webbuildingcorp.com) that advertised offering design services for making high-end e-commerce web sites for businesses. We agreed to engage after I convinced their business lead (*********************************) that I should pay half the fee upfront ($1645 total; $822.50 paid upfront) with the second half when the site was ready to launch. This was back in January 30, 2024. I was assured by him and his design team that the web site would be more than done in full before end of February. However, his team (folks with email addresses at webdesignllc.com) proved to be highly unresponsive once the project kicked off. They would take over a week to get something small -- like a picture that I had sent over -- placed on the demo site. By late March, it took them over 2 weeks to respond to my emails. The site was not even close to done. Late March, I suggested that perhaps they could give me access to the site so at least I can help them with text editing and picture placements (which was taking way too long for them to do). Once again, they returned to me days after the date for which they promised. By early April, it became clear to me that they were stalling. I started suspecting that these characters might be running a bait-and-switch (or bait-and-stall) operation. I notified the business that they are highly unprofessional, and that I had run out of patience -- the delays were hurting my own business. At this point, ******* called me and begged to be given two more days. However, they had lost my trust and I politely told ******* as such. After the call, he told me over text that he would reimburse me the money leftover and transfer all the design files. That was the last I head from *******. There have been no answers to my emails since then. The demo site went offline, and no files were transferred. Basically, I ended up paying for a huge waste of time and received no service in the end.
