Roof is leaking after 2 years. I am not here in the summer time but came home to leak stains in areas that were pointed out previously to ***** Called company they came out and determined there was no leak because there was no wetness to the plywood in the area. This is February, our dry season. ***** offered a water test using my water after his employee took pictures. Seventeen nails missed being nailed down in a 3 foot area. This was pointed out and company never made an attempt to correct. I have ground construction for city water going on in my yard and cannot accommodate a water test.

    Hello *****,

I see we initially did your roof in Feb of 2020. We have done a thorough investigation of the complaint you have filed.

Upon addressing the concerns a few weeks ago, our ***************** Officer conducted an inspection and found no active leaks; instead, the stains appeared to be old. He had suggested a water test to verify the presence of any current leaks, but you denied partaking in a water test.

It was also observed that a third party had made modifications to the completed roof independently, therefore voiding the warranty claim. Despite our team's willingness to assist, there was displayed hostility during interactions with our Branch Manager. Subsequently, the branch manager, QA officer, and *** attempted to revisit the property at request but were asked not to step foot on the premises.

At Code Red Roofers, we are committed to resolving concerns and providing assistance. However, it is disheartening that despite our efforts, there could be no resolve in addressing the reported issue on our end. We remain open to finding an amicable solution and encourage further communication to reach a resolution.

New metal roof installed within past two years leaks over screened porch. Company wants to go through warranty process before even assessing the issue. Mold and damage continues in the mean time.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/14/2022

    Hello *************** -

As with any company dealing with a product install or insurance, it is standard procedure to have the client fill out a claim form to initiate the repair process. For example, should you have had damage to your home or property after a hurricane and had decided to have your insurance company come out and assess the damages, they would also require you to file a claim. This is nothing out of the ordinary nor is it negligent on our part. We are simply asking you to submit the warranty claim so we have a record of it and can complete the necessary work. We don't simply send an employee out to a property at random without first receiving a claim. Our employee very graciously explained to you how to fill out the Warranty Claim Form on our website and submit any photos of the damage you may have. Companies have procedures in place to ensure things do not fall through the cracks, and everything is documented properly. We have a repair tech coming out to your residence tomorrow to assess the damages. Thank you for understanding our processes - they are the same for any and everyone that calls in with damages.

On Friday 9/9/2022 **************** (LIC# CCC1326574), during a reroof, was installing new shingles, cut through the underlayment during install of the new shingles in several places (which is not acceptable in itself, and left several hours early for the day to go drinking (as admitted by the workers to us) without repair or cover of those cuts. On Saturday 9/10/2022 heavy rain hit the area. We repeatedly called Code Red's emergency line, the salesman we dealt with, the general manager and the main line with no answer or return calls that evening. The resulting water damage to my home was water dripping through the ceiling onto the floor, wet drywall and insulation from the roof peak down to the front and 2 side interior walls of the home. It was significant. We have verification with infrared images from a dry out company that we immediately called to mitigate damages. When we finally heard back from Code Red the next day, they basically told us to pound sand. A crew was sent to patch the cuts. The patch repairs are not acceptable or indicative of a new roof. It is not a repaired roof. Not one employee has even come out to assess interior damages or offer a solution. We allowed them to finish the roof to prevent further and future damage from water until we could deal with this situation. At this point, between dry out, drywall repair, properly repairing the texture ceiling and repaint, we are looking at an additional $15k in repairs on top of the roof cost. At this point we are stuck with a repaired new roof and thousands in repairs.

Code Red Roofers is actively working with this client to come to a solution and for it to be resolved. A claim was filed through our insurance carrier, and our carrier offered to pay the client approximately $9,700.00 to cover the cost of interior damages. The client did not accept the offer from the insurance company and requested additional funds for an unknown reason. The roof is 100% water-tight - and CRR is going back out to the home to once again resolve any issues with the underlayment, as the client wants to make sure the underlayment is repaired according to the specifications of the manufacturer. The client contacted the building department on her own accord and asked them not to have the roof pass final inspection due to the interior damages, although the damage to the inside of the home has no bearing on the roof inspection. Code Red Roofers is always solution oriented and we are working to resolve this between all parties involved.
