This is a complaint on rent increase and a complaint against the owners for not honoring the lease agreement. I completed a lease to rent a two br and 2b townhouse. I was told that all the amenities such as fireplace, dishwasher, garbage disposal were all in working order when I signed the lease. I expected rent to increase, but when it is increased by ******. WITHOUT ANY ATTEMPTS TO HONOR THE LEASE BY MAKING THE LISTED ************ 6 paragraph 40 say the rent increase will be in the increments of ***** and not ****** There has to be some kind of help to renters such as myself who are being bullied into paying rent on a place where none of the amenities work. When I asked about the fireplace I am told that it is the responsibility of the tenant to have the fireplace serviced. The lease say I am responsible for maintaining amenities and appliances. The property manager said everything was in working order, but there was no written report that the fireplace had been serviced for the new tenant. It's just not fair that these landlords can raise the rent as high as they want without making the necessary repairs that they promised in the signed lease. When there is no agency to protect us, a lease agreement is only an agreement used by the owners to hold renters accountable, but there is no one to hold the owners accountable, for example: when moving into a new place I have only a lease and a property manger's words. I was told that all amenities were in working order to include the fireplace. Only to be told that the fireplace is broke. If it's broken,THEN IN ACCORDANCE TO THE LEASE AGREEMENT it should have been REPAIRED. The lease has been violated by the owners for not honoring to repair what they say they will repair in accordance with the lease I signed. All I am asking for as a remedy, is protection from any form of retaliation from this rental agency for filing this complaint, agency honor lease and make the necessary repairs.

I was just given notice that my lease is not being renewed and that I have 60 days to find a new place. This is retaliation.

This is unfair. I had total knee surgery in April and scheduled for the second total knee surgery September 10, 2024.

Having to find a place within this new time is creating a hardship because I will not be medically able to move on the date listed. If I can get an extension for January 2025 would make things a lot easier on me.

This is nothing more than retaliation because I filed a complaint with the better business  Bureau. I have paid my rent ontime and have not violated the lease agreement that would justify me being denied a lease renewal.

The tenant has resided with Welcome Here Property Management, LLC  from 8/31/21 to 9/30/24.  There have been rental increases since that time.  The tenant was given advanced notice that all of the rentals owned/managed by Welcome Here Property Management on Whetherbine Way were all going to be set at the market rent.  The market rent, per Zillow estimator, for all properties on Whetherbine Way is $1400.00-$1500.00 per month.  The tenant's renewal rate was only at $1350.00 per month, which is below the market rate.

There are no outstanding maintenance requests pending at the tenant's property.  All appliances are in proper working order.

The tenant filed this complaint immediately after receiving the lease renewal.

I refute the information provided because the agency lied. I have paid the same amount of rent the entire time and I have records to prove it. Second, just because that is going rent for that area, but the value of the place is not matching the price. They advertised that the fireplace was working, but when I asked for the annual service report they then said the fireplace is broken and they never repaired it. The dishwasher us still broken too. And because I challenged them citing the part of the lease that states the landlord is responsible for making repairs. They gave me a non renewable lease with sixty days to vacate. The rent definitely doesn't match the quality of what is being rented.
