- Additional Info:BBB has received a pattern of complaints regarding collection issues about Redline Processing Group and DC Processing Group. The people using the name Redline Processing Group are criminals looking to perpetrate a scam.
Consumers filing BBB complaints have received phone calls from fraudulent people claiming to be a collection agency attempting to collect a debt. Consumers have asked for validation of the debt, but the business has refused to provide this information.
The scam artists use threats and coercion in order to get consumers to make a payment for the unproven debt or provide personal information. They create fear for the consumers by threatening to file court action against them if they do not comply with their demands within 48 hours, and promising to inform the consumers' employers and banks about the issue if not resolved. Some consumers have been intimidated to pay or they will be arrested by the FBI, FTC, or other law enforcement agencies.
The people perpetrating this scam have used numerous names and phone numbers.
In May 2019, BBB called all phone numbers known to be associated with this scam. The numbers have all gone to the same automated system with the name of Redline Processing Group advising they are calling to collect a debt.
In May 2019, BBB was not able to confirmed that Redline Processing Group has obtained the necessary licensing from the Florida Office of Financial Regulation. Such licensing is required in the State of Florida for businesses offering collection services.
BBB advises that if you have received such calls to disregard them and contact BBB, the Federal Trade Commission, and your local Attorney General's office.
