  I contracted with ******* to replace my flooring in my house. I was referred to him by my sister's contractor through the hurricane repairs in *****************. I provided him with $10,000. $1500 through Venmo and $8500 with a check. He ripped out one little area of my house of existing vinyl flooring and covered it with plywood. It was probably a 20x15 area. He then after three months of prolonging the install told me he will not be finishing the job. My sister's contractor from the hurricane fired him due to his work already performed at her house. It was unacceptable and caused an additional $15,000 of damage due to his shotty work. After he was told that he dropped my job and voiced to me that he was going to charge me $3000 (I could have done the work with my girlfriends in a couple hours) for the work that he completed. After he told me he won't be doing my job, he informed me he would be sending me a check for the $7000 via certified mail. I waited weeks for this check and continued to stay in touch regarding the status of the check for 2-3 weeks. He kept telling me that it was going to come via certified mail. It never came and I continued to contact him when he would no longer answer to me. I am now $10,000 out and he will no longer respond. I am a mother of two with plywood in the middle of my living room and out of money to get the job finished. Do not use this man for any services as he is a scammer. I even provided his wife and children, snacks, and drinks to go after one of his visits. They will take advantage of you and I am warning you do not be a victim like me. It is horrible people like this that you need to stay away from! I am contacting the sheriff's office and hired an attorney!

  I met with the owner of the company and found him to be very charming with his ideas and plans for ********************. He said he required "more than half up front" which was 65% down, labor only. The contract was for $27,000 and I paid him upfront $17,500. He said that he would be working with the guys to do the construction. He never did but sent 2 guys over who couldn't understand english and robbed me of my personal lumber and concrete saw. I had to file a Police report. Now, 10% of the work was done and most of it is wrong according to our contract. I have called and text the owner and no response. This "job" was started on 10/22/22. It is now 12/9/22 and nothing has changed, except for the fact that I now need to hire a new company to fix the mistakes and unfinished work. PS...he spent hours telling me how he desired to help the homeless and children in need. I donated $1000 check for him to buy sweaters for the children. I never received the receipt for this purchase. We even purchased and prepared individual gift bags of diapers, socks, toothbrushes and toothpaste that we were going to give to the contractor for his homeless efforts but instead, we greatly donated the gifts to ***************** Pathways Forward in ********** *******. He even goes by the company name of D&D ******** services.
