On 5/8/24 I reported to my insurance company that we had a waterline leak that caused water damage to flooring, baseboards, walls, and kitchen cabinets. We used their recommended company for remediation of the water and mold testing. Their adjuster came and provided an estimate. ********************* repeatedly refused to respond to emails and phone calls for over 8 business days. I spoke with her supervisor who assured me this would not happen again. On 6/6/24 we were provided a quote that said we would received a check. It is now 6/23/24 and no check has been provided. An estimate for the mold remediation was provided on 6/17/24 and after continued requests for a reply none has been provided. The supervisor was called on 6/21/24 but he will not reply now either. To resolve the issue: 1) provide a check within the next 3 business days for both the approved amount already quoted, plus the additional amount for mold remediation. 6333 + 6856 = ******Business response

I have a water damage claim with the insurance company claim# SL24203586. It has been over 3 weeks and I can not get my desk adjuster or his manager to return any of my phone calls. My bathroom has been demo for a month now and there is not answer as to when my claim will be taken care of.Business response

I am victim of Slide Insurance fraud practice of billing my mortgage *** without authority and approval. Farmers Insurance no longer provides home owners insurance in *******. Slide Insurance, which I have no relationship with, fraudulently sent a bill to my mortgage company for payment. Payment was made creating a negative escrow balance. Please help me get reimbursed for the fraudulent payment to Slide Insurance.Business response

Our goal is to make working with Slide a seamless and positive experience, and we apologize to Ms. ***** that this has not been her experience.
To ensure continued protection when her Farmers policy expired, a Slide policy was mailed to Ms. ***** on April 23, 2024, about 55 days ahead of the effective date. As the party responsible for paying the premium,the premium invoice was also mailed to her mortgagee.
We reached out to Ms. ***** and,as she has requested, processed cancellation of the policy. As of this date, we have not received any premium payment, and we will continue to monitor the account and refund any payment that is received.
We truly appreciate Ms. *****s feedback and hope we can be of service to her in the future.Customer response

I live in ************, ** and have Farmers for my homeowners insurance. Farmers is leaving ******* so I have shopped for a new policy. Without my approval, and a month prior to my policy expiration on 6/11/24 Farmers automatically put me on a Slide insurance policy that was more than DOUBLE the price of my existing policy. A month ago I received a large paper packet from Slide with various signature forms. I immediately threw it in the trash after seeing the premium amount. Yet still, I was automatically signed up for them. I have already found another provider (Kin) at a slightly lower rate than Farmers. In my opinion, this is criminal business behavior from both Farmers and Slide. Now I have to wait for a paper refund check from Slide and re-deposit it into my escrow account. Why should I have to deal with all this nonsense when I never agreed to Slide or their price-gouging ridiculous policy?Business response

When Farmers announced that they were leaving the Florida insurance market, Slide entered into an agreement with them to provide homeowners policies to all impacted policyholders. Mr. ******** policy was due to expire on June 11, 2024, so a Slide policy was sent to him on April 18, 2024, almost two months ahead of time. Our aim was to make the transition simple and seamless, requiring no signatures or action on his part to keep the coverage in force.
****************** contacted us on May 15, 2024, requesting that the policy be cancelled. The cancellation was immediately processed. No payment has been received for the policy, and any payment we do receive will be refunded.
We had hoped to make this a positive experience for ****************** and regret that this was not case.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:Your response states "When Farmers announced that they were leaving the Florida insurance market, Slide entered into an agreement with them to provide homeowners policies to all impacted policyholders".
This is a lie. Please see attached letter I received from Farmers on Jan. 29th, 2024. It clearly states: "Weve worked with Florida-based company Slide Insurance to offer you a policy. Approximately 60 days before the end of your policy period, you'll receive a quote from Slide with details on how to purchase."
This clearly gives people the illusion of choice, of which there was none. This is business fraud, plain and simple.
To repeat myself, I was never given any communication stating Slide would automatically take over my policy at double the premium rates. Nor do I see anything in my Farmers policy stating they are allowed to do this.
You also stated that your "aim was to make the transition simple and seamless, requiring no signatures". That again is a lie. The 30+ page envelope you sent me in April had multiple signature pages. If signup was automatic, what was the purpose of this other than to completely mislead people?
In summary, Slide's response is completely unsatisfactory and they should be barred from doing business in the state of *******. The paper trail backs up my position and I am willing to assist with whatever legal action is necessary to prevent Slide from committing this outright fraud on other unsuspecting Farmers policy holders.

This past Monday (4/29/2024) I received a notice from the company, Slide, claiming that they had yet to receive payment for a homeowners policy that I neither consented to, nor was I made aware of. I had a previous insurance policy with Farmers who, at the current time, is no longer operating in the state of ******* and notified me that another company would be reaching out to me to discuss the transferral of policies. Not only did Slide fail to reach out to me, but evidently, based on the attached document, it seems they are attempting to have me foot the bill for an insurance policy that I was never informed about and - again, I have to emphasize this - did NOT consent to. I had absolutely no intention of doing business with Slide as I had found another homeowners insurance provider long before Slide decided to send me this policy claim. I have attempted to reach out to the company on more than one occasion, stating very clearly that I am not interested in working with them and never even agreed to this policy to begin with, and every time, Ive been met with indifference and nonchalance. I find this to be incredibly unprofessional and encourage anyone who is reading this to investigate further into Slide as a whole. If they are doing this to me, then it is entirely possible they are doing this to countless others as well.I would like for Slide to cancel my policy. I have asked politely several times. I have been as patient and as understanding as can be expected, but now I am at my limit. I do not wish to do business with them and I do not wish for them to contact me unless it is solely to cancel the aforementioned policy.Business response

Shortly after Farmers announced they were leaving the state of *******, Slide Insurance and Farmers agreed to provide continued home insurance coverage for Farmers policyholders in *******. Unless Slide is notified that you do not wish to take the Slide policy, your policy will remain in effect. This is an effort to make sure that the affected homeowners would not have a gap in coverage.
Unfortunately, Ms. ******** agent did not notify us of the cancellation. We have since spoken to her and canceled her Slide policy.
Were glad she was able to find alternate coverage, and we hope to gain her trust in the future.Customer response

My Homeowners insurance carrier, Farers Insurance is leaving *******. I heard that a new company was taken over called Slide Insurance. After doing research about this company I found that they were fraudulently submitting policy premium invoices to your mortgage company without ever letting us review a policy quote and making a decision about going with Slide Insurance company. I read all the reviews about this company once it was announced that Farmers was leaving in 2023. I immediately started get quotes from other carriers and chose a new carrier that was not Slide. I contacted my mortgage company the first week of April and placed a block on my escrow account to prevent specifically Slide from access my escrow account. Today on April 13th I received in the mail a new policy packet from Slide Insurance which included a premium and notice they have sent invoice to my mortgage company. This is what I was trying to be proactive about. I contacted my mortgage company immediately on this day and the automated message stated a premium was sent out to Slide on April 10th. I was not able to speak with someone at the mortgage company because they were closed. I am going to try to stop payment on this check issued on Monday morning. I then immediately sent a email to Slide Insurance demanding them to stop the process of this policy and demanding them not to cash the check that has been sent out. I need to file this complaint because I signed no contract with this company for this policy and in my opinion they are commuting fraud by not having me agreed to any policy with themBusiness response

This policy was canceled on 4/15/24 at the request of **************. As of 4/22/24, we have not received a payment from her mortgage company. We will continue monitoring this account and issue a refund if we receive a payment from her mortgage company.
When Farmers exited the Florida market, we entered an agreement to provide continued coverage to all impacted policyholders. Farmers and Slide sent several notifications regarding this continuation of coverage. The notifications and renewal processes follow all legal and regulatory requirements.

I am rejecting this response because: I was able to contact my mortgage company in enough time before funds were sent out to Slide and stop the process. So at this time I have no financial hardship due to the actio s taken by Slide Ins. However the one notification I received from Farmers Ins was to notify me that I would receive a packet from Slide approximately 30 days before my policy expires to give me a competive offer of insurance with Slide. The the only thing I received from Slide was the packet saying it was a renewal offer on the day I filed the complaint and nothing prior. In this same day I contacted my mortgage company to find out that Slide already submitted a invoice to my mortgage company without a oppurtunoty to decline the offer. I feel this is unjust and should be allowed to continue with a already tough insurance market in ******* and tough *************** our Country is experiencing. These actions should be made public so all can be notified as Buyer Beware

We understand **************** position and regret that our efforts did not meet her expectations. Our agreement with Farmers was to help Floridians avoid a gap in coverage when Farmers left the market.
We issued her Slide Renewal Policy on April 7, 2024, 53 days prior to its effective date of May 30, 2024. We processed the cancellation the same day ************** requested it, and we will refund any premium payment we receive.Initial Complaint

Farmers Insurance left ******* and sold my information to a scammer insurance company named Slide. They bill my mortgage company (******). My agent is trying to get them to return the payment and cancel the policy, but they refuse. How can they bill and accept payment from my mortgage company without me giving authorization or signing the new policy with them? I am out of $3766. The information about the city and phone number on file is incorrect. The farmers and customer representatives have no idea or idea of what is going on in *******. I would not recommend this company. Slide is still trying to bill the Insured after our Agent repeatedly canceled the policy months ahead of time. Now all of Slide agents are calling harassing me about payment. We are with another company and our policy hasn't even started yet. They are acting like they are clueless to try to still bill your mortgage company. Make sure you did what we did and have your mortgage company know to reject anything from slide. If we didn't do that important step. We would be dealing with issues for no reason other than to defraud us and our mortgage company. SLIDE is not a honest company by any means. Our agent just said to ignore them but this harassment is uncalled for.Business response

Weve addressed this miscommunication with the agent of record and assisted with canceling this policy. Per ******************** request, we have canceled his Slide policy with an effective date of 4/22/2024. A refund was expedited and will be issued as soon as Monday, 4/8/2023.
Our commitment is to deliver a smooth and positive experience to all policyholders. We regret that ********************************* recent experience did not meet these standards. Company sent a policy and bill requesting payment to my mortgage company long before it was sent to me. I was never sent a quote to review, sign and accept nor an opportunity to review and adjust coverage limits. I immediately contacted my mortgage company and luckily caught it before they sent a payment to Slide. The premium is outrageous and I submitted selected and accepted a policy with another carrier for $1,100 less.I have sent numerous correspondences to the local agent and Slide using the contact us form on their site. Neither parties will acknowledge or respond to me. Today I received a payment reminder notice in the mail for the policy I demanded be canceled as I never accepted or authorized it.Cannot believe this is legal. I have now consulted an attorney who advised as long as I have the communications I sent documented, further attempts by Slide seeking payment will constitute as fraud and be eligible for damages to be awarded.The way this company operates speaks loud and clear that they are very unethical and should not be trusted to cover your home. Word of mouth and online reviews travel fast. I continue to warn everyone I know to steer clear of this company that operates on deceptive practices and fraud.Business response

On February 5 I received a policy from slide Insurance which i never asked for nor have i contacted this company. I was told I would have to cancel a policy I never asked for or my Mortage company would start sending them my premium payments. I do not wish to do business with these people. How is it even legal for them to put a policy in force without me signing any paperwork or even contacting them? I followed thier instructions to cancel this policy and I am also contacting the **************** to see what legal action I can take. I am very concerned as the amount of Elderly here that do not know they can fight back. Slide has forever lost me as a potential customer.Business response

When the consumers prior insurance company made the difficult decision to stop offering coverage in *******,we were able to offer a renewal policy with Slide so that coverage would not be interrupted. We appreciate the frustration expressed by the consumer. It is never easy to find a new insurance policy, and our intent was to afford a convenient and secure way to ensure continuation of coverage. By sending the renewal offer almost two months ahead of the effective date, we had hoped to provide ample time to review it, ask any questions, and consider other options. We regret that this was not sufficient notice in this case but are pleased that the consumer has found coverage that better meets his needs.
