I was quoted $169/hr and told that the clock would start when they got to my home and end when they left the destination. They said nothing about adding almost $900 worth of extra charges that were not disclosed to me when I received my quote. I am furious and feel like this company is very deceptive and needs some sort of recourse for their practices. We paid them a ridiculous amount of money to only half do a job and they lost some of our items too.

We were quoted $169 an hour for 3 movers for 3 hours. We arent disputing the hours what we are disputing is the hidden fees and being charged overtime due to only have 2 people instead of 3. The hidden fees should have been discussed.

We moved November 15/16, 2024, from ******************** to **************. We have concerns with the professionalism, training and procedure that is marketed by Good Greek, they didnt deliver what we needed to make this move seamless. ? Your salesperson conducted an inventory and quoted a fixed price based upon one truck. We knew that more than one truck would be needed based upon a prior move into our home yet when we mentioned this, it was discounted. We were told it would take approximately 4-hours to upload our home, it took 10 hours! ? The crew showed up with no tools and needed to borrow mine. They also did not bring food or water and asked that I provide a ride to the gas station so they could get lunch.? 8-hours in, a supe showed up on site and called for a second truck. ? The crew lost track of the fasteners for furniture ? A mover attempted to load up my $1500 adjustable height desk by placing all of its weight on a single leg. That leg collapsed. ? The second truck arrived around 4:30 and it was not well packed. The items from the garage were simply tossed in the truck in piles resulting in damage. On Saturday, the trucks did not show up until 3:30 PM, they were expected between 11 and 1. The move was not finished until 9:00pm.? The crew still did not have their own tools or water. ? We needed to direct the crew on how to unload ? They had mattresses backwards on two beds and neither bed assembled correctly.? A worker leaned a TV on the end of the couch and walked away, the tv slipped and hit the living room wall causing the entire casing of the TV to break loose.? My electric, height adjustable desk with the broken leg, does not work.? One bed was reassembled with the side boards upside down resulting in none of the feet able to reach the ground.? Our king mattress was stowed in such a way that there is a large bulge in the middle of the mattress. ? The haphazardly packed second truck was dumped into our garage damaging several items.

After Hurricane ******, I hired Good Greek movers to empty my house and take the furniture to another location. Seven pieces of our wooden furniture and the front door were scratched and banged up bad. They didnt use pads or blankets to protect the furniture. Also before they were completely finished, they got a call to another job, so they stopped putting the furniture into the rooms we asked them to. Everything was left downstairs. We have come up with a figure of $2,900.00 to partially pay for replacement or refinishing of our furniture. They came up with a little above $400.00. We cant replace even 1 piece of the damaged furniture. Ive called at least 1/2 dozen times, left messages and emails. I cant even talk to woman whose name I was given.

On 10/29/24, I arranged moving services with Good Greek Moving & Storage via a phone call with ****** Jay ****. We discussed my needs for moving on 11/11/2024, storage of belongings for approx. 2-3 weeks, and delivery of those items to our new address on or around 11/25/24. He stated that the moving fee is $210/hour and item storage is $150/vault/month. I specifically asked if the charges stated included delivery of items later and he clearly affirmed that this was true. I paid the deposit and we scheduled the move. On 11/11/24, the move occurred as expected and I paid the remaining $5,019.31. Because of the previous call, I was under the impression that the payment included everything discussed on 10/29, including the delivery of my items later. On 11/14, I called to arrange delivery for 11/25. When another payment was mentioned, I stated that we had already paid. She stated there would be another fee for delivery but I explained to her my first conversation and how we had already paid over $5,000. She agreed that this amount seemed high and that she needed to do some research but assured me someone would call me back by the end of the day. No one called back. On 11/21 I received a call later to verify move details for 11/25 and was asked to pay. I again explained the situation. He told me he would speak with ***** and someone would call me back. Several hours passed and no one called me so I called again. This time I was connected with a new employee to whom I once again explained the entire situation. We spoke at length and she seemed concerned and wanting to resolve the issue. She eventually transferred me to someone who had no idea of the previous conversations and simply wanted to collect my payment. Although I was upset, due to the need to receive my items and the approaching date and weekend, I agreed to pay the delivery fee. On 11/25, we received our items. I have tried to resolve this with both Good Greek and my credit card company to no avail.

Good Greek moved me out of my condo on 10/1. Initial we agreed to and I was told that my move would be about $1500 as it is a 1/1 with a little sunroom. But after they got all of my stuff on the truck one of the movers had billing on their cell and said the bill came to $3200. This included a $1000 extra in time and half hours because they went over 8. But they move so very very slow for a reason I think. They had all of my stuff and I felt like the clock was ticking so I paid thar $3200 in full.I was also told that my stuff would fit in 2 of the storage vaults by the mover but the warehouse *** said it would be 3 so I had to pay more to store even though there was not even a couch in them but just stuff for one person me. I paid $463 to store my stuff there until I found a place to move into on 11/29. I purposely picked that day as not to have to be charged another $463 in storage for December. It was very hard to get an out the door price to pay upfront as they were not transparent with their quoting. They had me sign all these boxes with no price but the old move stuff where they nickel and dimed me on tape and $100 of tv boxes with no tv in them but some random art. These tv boxes were 3 cardboard boxes but I digress I finally after bugging them for an out the door move price was quoted $945 but that price was never sent to me on any invoice or contract. I paid upfront as to not get jacked at the door at my place you know we wont take it off the truck until you pay slimey tactics. .They moved all of stuff out of their storage 11/29 and then on 11/30 they charged me $463 in storage fees December which I dont need now bc my stuff is in my new apartment. I originally got my bank fraud **** involved to dispute it but Good Greek actually gave me a credit back on 12/1. Now I see that my bank fraud has recharged me the full $463 for things at my apartment. How can they keep charging me for storage when they moved me out? $4700 1/1 move? $463 stolen!

      Good morning,

We appreciate our client's time and collaboration to coming to a resolution to this matter. In hopes of providing some clarity to this matter, I have included Mrs. ********* signed estimate, signed contract, copy of all storage charges and supporting documentation of the last charge on her account. The items were moved out of storage on the 29th of November and our automatic billing system billed client the next day. Client's account was refunded and closed on the 3rd of December and no other charges have been ran on her account. Regarding the charges, all charges fall within the scope of the clients signed estimate and contract. Please let us know if we could be of further assistance. Thank you.

      Complaint: 22687597

I am rejecting this response because:

its not just about the extra month charge. It mostly is about the shady way they gave me a written estimate for $1500 and then had all my stuff loaded on the truck then strong armed me with a new bill for $3200 out of nowhere still running the clock. The way they have you sign their contracts are not aligned with the thing nearby that you are signing. There is a lot of redundancy and missing info. I moved a few days after ****** and I feel that they price gouged me and others as my realtor said her other client went thru something similar.

No worries if this is done with BBB, I made a formal complaint with ************************, ****** ************* about price gouging during Hurricanes so hopefully they will do something. In the meantime I am telling all of my teacher friends and others never ever to use Good Greek to move. (They wasted my money, giving me a ridiculous housewarming gift, many they should not give those to us and maybe stop their deceptive business practices instead. Seems to me like their entire business model and every office and **** is part of scam!

      Sincerely,

      ********* *******

This dispute concerns charges from GOOD GREEK ****************************** CITY following Hurricane ******, which flooded our Tampa rental home, destroying most belongings and vehicles. We contacted Good Greek on Sept. 29, 2024, and were quoted $973.35 for the move into storage and estimated a total of ~$2,500, including $450 for storage units and a move-out fee.Good Greek initially scheduled movers for Sept. 30 but later claimed they could come the same day, Sept. 29. The crew arrived at 6 PM but left at 8:45 PM due to one worker hitting their hour limit. They assured us a new crew would finish the job the next morning at no extra cost. On Sept. 30, a new crew completed the move, and we were unexpectedly charged $944.38, later revealed to be for the second day, despite the delay being their fault. On Oct. 3, we were charged $2,160.74 without prior notice, and on Oct. 11, $2,775.85 for moving items from storage into our new apartment. These charges brought the total to $6,854.32nearly 3x our estimate. We later learned from a representative from Good Greek that the contract was written as if for a much larger home, resulting in inflated minimum costs that didnt align with the verbal quotes.I contacted Good Greek on Oct. 16, explaining the discrepancies and was told we should have resolved issues earlier, despite being unaware of hidden charges until the move was complete. I was promised a callback but received none. On Oct. 22, I followed up and received no response.Weve never paid more than $1,200 for a move. While we understood a surcharge due to the hurricane, we expected ~$2,500, not $6,854.32. This overcharge is unreasonable and not aligned with initial estimates or services rendered.Full details are available in the attached PDF.

      Good afternoon,

Mr. ******* signed a contract with our company for moving and storage services. Client agreed to all terms and conditions that came with being on an hourly rate.

I have attached Mr. ******** signed estimate and signed contract outlining all charges that would apply to his move. We billed our client according to these agreements.

Against good faith, client filled a chargeback with his bank institution and has collected back a portion of his money overthought services were rendered. We deem this matter resolved and closed.

      Complaint: 22576044

I am rejecting this response because:

We are still in discussions to find a resolution, but no agreement has been reached thus far. Good Greek has offered $1,000 off my original bill in exchange for signing a settlement agreement. However, I believe the $2,000 already refunded through the chargeback process should serve as the final resolution to this matter, given the excessive charges and lack of transparency in billing.
Good Greek rejected my proposal, citing that they have already provided "several discounts" reflected on the invoice. However, after reviewing the invoice and the original agreement, its clear that these discounts are not genuine reductions in the final cost.

In multiple instances, the operational surcharge was inflated significantly above the agreed-upon 25% from the signed contract and then "discounted" back down to meet the originally agreed-upon amount. For example:
On 9/29/2024, the operational surcharge was listed as $1,489.50, "discounted" by $1,117.13, and reduced to $372.37, which is exactly 25% of the subtotal ($874.50).
On 9/30/2024, the surcharge was listed as $1,603.25, "discounted" by $1,202.44, and reduced to $400.81, which is exactly 25% of the subtotal ($1,272).
On 10/12/2024, the surcharge was listed as $2,695.00, "discounted" by $2,021.25, and reduced to $673.75, which is exactly 25% of the subtotal ($2,695).

These "discounts" simply corrected the surcharge to match the 25% outlined in the original agreement. They are not real concessions or reductions in cost. Presenting these as discounts to justify rejecting my proposal does not feel like it was done in good faith.

For additional context, I initially disputed $4,500 through **************** only as a last resort because Good Greek failed to respond to my repeated attempts to address these issues directly. Of the $4,500 disputed, $2,000 was refunded to me via **************** after their review. This refund partially addressed the discrepancy between the original estimate and the final charges.

Since Good Greek has offered $1,000 off, and I was already awarded $2,000which equates to roughly half of what I soughtI believe the $2,000 refund is reasonable and closer to a middle ground for both parties.

I remain open to resolving this amicably but cannot accept their current offer as it stands. I am noting all of this here so that the complaint does not automatically close as resolved, given the automatic 10-calendar-day window for my response.

      Sincerely,
      ***** *******

They refused to provide an initial estimate in writing but verbally told me on the phone that it shouldn't be more than $1,100 based on my detailed contents list, video, and my request to utilize 3 movers instead of 2. They charged me for the lunch hour taken by the movers and the primary reason it took them so long to complete the job is that 2 of them did not speak English and the 3rd mover did not speak Spanish. They were barely able to communicate with each other. They also charged me for the hour they took for lunch. Their final invoice was $650 more than the quote. They parked the truck in my driveway and refused to unload it until I paid the overinflated invoice in full which left me no chance to discuss my concerns. I have reached out to the company multiple times to try and discuss the fact that they conned and overcharged me, but received no response. I would like the additional $650 refunded or I will consider pressing criminal charges.

We used Good Greek about 5 years ago on a move to **. The experience was so good we didnt even look anywhere else on our move locally in the ******* area. Wow, how the company has changed!!!! We were told we need 2 trucks and 4 guys for our 2 storage units. That didnt seem completely unreasonable but the way the movers went about the move was the problem. They all only loaded one truck instead of using both trucks at the same time. The move took ALL DAY! When we moved to **, we had more stuff, 3 guys, and 1 truck. They had us packed and moved out in about 5 hours. Unpacking was a breeze and was much quicker. This move was ridiculous. We called about the issue with the trucks and according to the crew, the manager called them and said we complained that they were smoking marijuana on the job and they were all going to be fired. Need less to say, we never did that but the crew was horrible when they got to the destination they were straight nasty with us and we were charged well over double what we should have been charged and I overheard the manager tell the crew that I was being charged 10 hours and overtime even though the lead crew member told him they werent goin go over 7 hours and overtime kicks in over 8.Heres the best part, afterward I asked to speak to a manger and was told no problem. Absolutely ZERO communication after I called to complain. I have called and emailed several times and even requested to speak to the CEO. Nobody from Good Greek has tried to reach out. Steer clear of this company now. Its a shame because they used to be honest. Maybe its just the absolute HORRIBLE management out of the Tampa location.

Naturally, I asked him for an estimate during this long conversation and he explained that the deposit was also designed to be an estimate -- that the deposit more or less covered the price of moving the contents of a one-bedroom apartment from *************** to ***************... **** provided an estimate of $818.85 based on 5 hours of work at $159 per hour (1 truck and 2 crew) and a CC processing fee of $23.85. I checked my phone to make sure that the funds were available. When the movers and I arrived at my new apartment, I was told that I would receive an email with the final bill. I then found an email invoice for $2725.41.I immediately called ****. No one answered. The driver then handed me his cellphone and put me on the phone with someone named ****. **** denied that **** would ever provide an estimate. (Apparently, no other customers care how much their move is going to cost.) He said the $818.85 was only a deposit based on the company's three-hour minimum. This deposit/estimate, however, was based on 5-hours, listed a one-hour transportation fee, an operational surcharge, and charged a CC processing fee. The document clearly wasn't designed to look like a deposit based on a 3- hour minimum. My phone calls with the driver show that I spent 5 hours and 36 minutes with them at the time that I was provided with an invoice for 9.5 hours. When I said I doubt I have that much money, the driver informed me that **** told him not to unload my belongings and to drive the truck (containing everything I own) somewhere in *****. I borrowed an additional $1906.65 to avoid this fate. I see on the BBB website (and others) that customers often use the word extortionists to describe Good Greek movers and describe very similar situations. I wish to resolve this dispute using BBB asap. ***
