I bought my house in 2018 and hired Insect IQ for general pest control and termite prevention. There was an instance early on in my pest control services, where they were charging me for pest control services that was performed at the house next door. This was confirmed with the pictures the pest tech took of the property to show treatment services were completed, only problem was, it was not my house. I brought this up early with the company, I spoke with ****** [Insect IQ manager]. This same circumstance happened multiple times, prompting me to contact company owner, ********. ******** reassured me this would not happen again. I was refunded the amount incorrectly charged for services not rendered on my property. In May 2021, Insect IQ manager ****** recommended the Sentricon termite prevention system. I followed through with recommendation and had 35 Sentricon bait stations installed. According to my agreement with Insect IQ, formalized on their proposal and agreement of services, the Sentricon bait stations were supposed to be serviced and monitored every 4 months for the first 2 years, then a minimum of every 6 months thereafter. Recently, I received another invoice for services performed at the house next door, again confirmed with pictures Insect IQ tech sent me. He sent me a Sentricon station report that seemed inaccurate. I spoke with ***** at Insect IQ that had *******, my Insect IQ tech, return the following Monday for treatment and servicing of Sentricon system. I was off this day and was able to watch the tech perform his servicing. When asked if he serviced all stations, he said he serviced and checked all stations. I asked how many stations he checked, because it did not seem like he checked all stations. He admitted to me that he only checked 11 stations. He said he did not need to check all of them. I asked him to check all of them because that is the agreement that was made, formalized by Insect IQ on their treatment agreement. Although my yard is maintained appropriately, he could not find the remaining stations, because he never checked them previously, at all. I reiterated the agreement that they were supposed to have these stations checked and serviced. He denied some locations where I was claiming Sentricon stations were placed. I reassured him that I saw him place them. I helped him find 9 additional stations, that he wholeheartedly denied were placed, leaving 15 stations in question. He stated that his company did not keep an accurate record of where the stations were placed. I explained that this made me nervous, because I have had termite activity around my chicken coop, forcing me to replace flooring. I asked him why he would report that he was checking all 35 stations during his inspection appointments, and he blamed the company for changing these records. When I spoke to administrative staff at Insect IQ, they said it was the technician who reported inspecting all stations incorrectly. At this point, after asking to speak to the owner, ********, I finally got a call from him 2 days later. He said that he would come out with the Insect IQ tech the following Monday. When he got there, he told me I was still getting the value of having the systems, although they have no clue where they are placed, nor were they ever checked. I asked why it was reported that all of them were inspected every 6 months, even though 20+ stations were never checked after being installed years before. I reminded him of the contract that I agreed to and proceeded forward with and he said that I was getting a good deal regardless of if they were being checked. He said that the Termite Bond is the most important aspect, but would not address the fact that his company was dishonestly/falsely reporting that they were being inspected. God forbid, something were to happen and termites were to be present, the termite bond would do me no good if it was being falsely reported as clear with no activity. I feel this was a bait and switch tactic. I have pictures and the proposal/agreement where it clearly states inspection schedule of every 6 months of every station. These pictures and proposal/agreement is easily furnishable upon request.
