      I Leased a Mattress and a Metal Box Spring. And had an initial payment of $43.12 and a weekly payment of about $30-$35 until its paid off, Not to Mention The sales man I believe his name may have been ****** told me that the bed was newit arrives to my home I see in the contract thats it is used, which was not expressed to me on the initial offer(which wasnt a big discrepancy to me )But where I came into the issue was the Late payment they have charged me in the past ! I have communicated relentlessly to Rent King and its associates that the payment may be late from time to time but its going to get paid, They Harass me through multiple phone ************ messages daily, even threatening to come confiscate my items even if I am one day late despite my promise to pay, Additionally Rent King States to me though a text message ( which is our main method of communication)That there is a $5.00 late fee PER DAY! so on 12/24 Rent King Charges me $70.10 for an ONE week payment. And adds a $5 daily late Fee and this has occurred multiple times.not only is the late fee not on the contact I signed but nowhere in the Rental purchase agreement is there anything about an Late fee I have communicated with the Rent King Associates and they still fail to tell me exactly where in this contractual agreement is there an Daily Late Fee of $5.00 Therefore it is not stated in the ************ I wish to have my overpaid money refunded and this contract voided due to False advertising, Churning and a breach in contract. I do have reason to believe They are adding Additional charges that do not exist just for the sole purpose of making commissions. If though the charges do exist it shall be stated in writing. There for Rent King has expressed to me that they are adding a Reinstatement fee which is for when I may return the item and may want to repurchase.(according to the contract) But even that does not have a re-accuring charge.( or not that I can see on the contract)

      Yesterday Rent king came and picked up their Furniture. While my roommate was here when I came home later that night I seen my my new tv that I just got scratched, the only one in my room was rent King employee that damage my Properly I reach out to have resolution resolving ******* response.       We have reviewed your comments and understand there is a concern about a broken television.  It is important for us to convey that our delivery team is trained to handle items during pick up and deliveries with the utmost care and professionalism - this is one key to our success of being in business for 29 years.  Our notes reflect that the item our team came into contact with and picked up was a television that had been placed on the floor without its feet attached.  This item was located on the opposite side of the room, across from the tv you claim we damaged.  Our team made no contact with the wall-mounted tv in question.  In your absence we were able to retrieve our merchandise in the same experienced and skillful manner that we always do and without incident.

      I purchased a USED PS5 from this rent king location. I made 6 payments totaling almost $300 (almost the cost of a brand new PS5), and then had to fly to **** for work for 6 weeks. During my trip, I was hounded with 3-4 calls every single day and threatened beyond measure. The day after I flew back 1/6/2025, I contacted Rent King and asked how much would be my payoff so that I can close the account and stop the harrassment.Unfortunately, the representative told me that my account was charged off as stolen and you will need to contact the corporate office, line 6 to speak to *** to pay off your account as they the. Provided me the phone number to call.For starters, nothing was stolen and the rentking location for sure has text messages from me stating that I was in **** and would return it upon my return. Though I found it quite odd that something was charged off as stolen that I still had in possession and still was willing to pay off or bring back, I gave *** a call. No answer, I then left a voicemail on almost every other line that the corporate number had. They didnt have any department at all to connect to a representative, only to leave a voicemail.I then emailed their customer service off their website asking for a response from corporate so that I could close my account. Knowing that I was making a good faith effort, Im very confused as to why they will not respond to my emails or calls. We all know RAC is a major scam, attempting to charge me $1100 for a $350 game. But the fact that I had made months worth of payments, updated them that I was out of state, and now attempting to pay my balance with no help is pretty unbelievable. I never thought Id have to go this route to the BBB to get help

      I reached out to this company 11/18 for a furniture delivery. A $100 payment was made and the agreement was the delivery would be made same day by 7pm. When the driver originally arrived I was not home but another adult was available. The delivery man stated I personally had to be home for a finger print and ID. Once that information was relayed to me I immediately came back home & waited hours for them to return. No one contacted me to say they were not coming. No one contacted me to say I have been rescheduled or anything. They literally took my money and I heard nothing else from them. When I reached out I spoke with a *** by the name **** She was very nasty and rude. She cut me off mid sentence and completely misunderstood the reason for my call. I have never been spoken to by a worker in that way. I called and spoke with manager who was also very nonchalant. The entire store was incompetent. I am still waiting for furniture delivery.

      i brought my ebike brain to them on saturday dec 30th anbd they gave me ************* for the bike and it doesnt work and ive been out of work since saturday dec 30th 2023 till now mon day jan 1 **** im close to be fired from my job beacuse they give me wrong parts for my ebike and not send it to service and the delevery guys give me attiudes to when i go in there i done payed off a ************* wanna give a coustmer bad stuff for there bike and almost cause me my job beacuse they told me it works and it dont work for my bike. i pay 143,00 a month for this bike and they dont help me but take parts off another bike and tell me they work and they dont work on my ebike there lazy not to order me a new brain for my bike at all igve had nothing but problems with this bike evry since i got it.

      Originally I ordered 2 twin beds. First off the store smells like a dog. They have water leaks in the building. They aren't very customer oriented to be dealing with the public. I paid for two pillow top mattrres. I received 1 pillow top and one was just a regular mattress. They both smell like a animal with hairs on them. So I called and told them, I told them I ordered 2 pillow top, they said 'oh we don't have 2 pillow tops" I said well I want 2 pillow top. So the lady '********" I think. She said it will take 2 days so I was okay with that at the time. So 3 days passed and no word from rent king. I called again and someone said 'oh we would never tell you 2 day's I'm assuming he was calling me a liar. He said it could take 2 weeks, 2 months etc.. I said why did she tell me that? He said she's new. That's not my fault. Anyway I've been waiting on my 2nd mattress for over a month now. No communication from them. I've since rented a TV, *************** I told them I only get paid 1 x a month. But yet they keep hounding me, threatening to come get my stuff. They are so disrespectful to me. Not the way a business should be ran. I would have never rent anything from rent king if I thought they were going to be rude to me. Poor way to do business. I've been in the hospital. I can only pay them once a month. They know that. I'm on a fixed income. They'd rather come pick it up than talk with me. ******* is very rude. I had my card on file to draw out on the 3rd but did they do that?? NO THEY DIDN'T!! what's the purpose of putting a card on file if you aren't going to run it when you are supposed to. Then call me with crappy attitudes. This store in *********** needs new people that can work with the public. It has a lot of maintenance issues. Please help me resolve this?? I can't sleep on the floor. Why are they so rude to their customers? Is this who you employ to deal with your customers?? Do better rent king or you are going to lose customers

      I got 4 new tires for my vehicle as I was in dire need. One tire even blew out while waiting on them.The day of, very unprofessional, they even had to use a calculator. I was told my total cost was $890. My weekly payments would be 17 and change(all in the paperwork I uploaded). It was not explained that the taxes and for some reason extra fees were added to my weekly payment so I'm paying $24.62 a week. On top of that, the tax and fees do not count towards the total payment. I was told to call pep boys and they will finish the process. It ended up being a huge problem as the employees at rent king did not inform pep boys or even set up my appointment for my tires. Ended up being 3 days later after complaining about the situation and that they need to fix it immediately and get me in there asap. 1 tire blew out and I was riding on a donut...at pep boys is when I finally received my paper work from rentking. Not the day of when they already had me sign for everything. I was under the impression my total payment was $890. This is only if I pay it off early and up front, was not explained. I figured okay fine whatever I'll keep paying up to the $1162 total. As I end up going over that I call them again. They then finally get the store manager to explain y I'm still paying because the employees didnt even understand why. Well apparently I need to do 65 payments total $24.62 per week equaling out to over $1600...this number was not explained thoroughly or even on the paperwork. This company is a scam mainly because they purposely withhold information from you or purposely leave u thinking everything is fine until it isnt. They r bullies and should be criminally investigated for their business practices. Oh almost forgot, when I got a tire rotation and oil change, they said the tires were dry rotted already...not even some paying them off yet according to them.

      Rental agreements are fully reviewed and explained to all of our customers at the time the agreement begins. If you ever have questions regarding your account, our team is always available to answer any questions. We have been in business since **** and deeply value the satisfaction of all of our customers. With any of our rental agreements you have the option to cancel the agreement at any time and return the merchandise if you are not happy or just dont need the items. This contract was signed over a year ago and besides the call you made to us a few weeks ago, there was no issue with the tires ever reported to the store or we would have addressed it immediately. We offer up to 6 months same as cash on all our products and if you pay the balance within that time frame that is all you would have paid plus taxes as stated in the rental agreement.       I am rejecting this response because: it was not thoroughly explained upon purchase of the product nor did I receive my paperwork until a few days after the agreement after ******** to you guys for not properly doing your jobs and getting me my tires asap which I ended up getting a blow out while waiting..On top of that they have dry rot... As a matter of fact the only person who was able to explain correctly was the manager ***** when I spoke to him a few weeks ago. Now tell me, where does it say on my paperwork I pay ***** a month? I don't care if that's included fees, EVERYTHING SHOULD BE ON THE PAPERWORK. The call I have made prior to that one a few months back, I can't recall who I spoke with. I'll go ahead and keep making the payments because of course the customer is the only one that ever gets screwed in this corrupt s***** country in these situations. This company is awful and has horrible business practices. There is a reason why it isn't nor ever will be BBB accredited and will just keep getting more and more complaints. I've read through the complaints and things you all have done in the past. Disgusting...

      I went to rent king in *********************, **. because I've been in there a couple other times before and had purchased with cash a nice couch and loveseat previously. I decided to get a different one because my other couch and loveseat were getting worn out There was a couch and loveseat in the store that he said had just got it into the store, in fact, it was still wet when I picked it up, and brought it home, that he sold to me for$80. I paid for it and later that day went and brought it home. after we got it inside and my wife had been sitting down on furniture for awhile, not realizing what was going on.,my wife said I think I got bit by something on the couch we thought maybe it might have been a sand flea ,we have two dogs, didn't think anything of it she continued getting bit everyday for the next few weeks unaware there was a major bug bed bug issue inside this couch and loveseat. When we finally realized that there were bed bugs in this couch and seeing it was a major issue being pointed out by a friend of ours who sat down and had the same thing happened to them we went to the store and they refused to do anything about it. possibly we might get our money back if anything and it has cost us a lot of money and still working on it to get rid of the bed bugs, no because we got rid of the other Furniture we no longer have anything to sit on in the house, and my wife has a health issue and she has been bitten from head to toe , now she has a dermatology appointment as well. she was put on antibiotics for her skin issues.They were quite rude when dealing with this. ..

      Ok so me and my wife Had an agreement for a PlayStation 5 we agreed to pay on it monthly and one of the employees put us down for the 14th of every month we made the payment on the 6th last month and they kept calling and calling for more payments so I told them on the 2nd of September well make a payment We missed that day because my wife has been in and out of the hospital so I said on the 12th with late fees included well make the payment for whatever is incurred and they told me they suspended the agreement without notice but theyre still trying to collect money from me and my wife after telling us (With proof) the payment would be 202 then told us again its 162 then again we need to make a payment of 140$ even after the contracted was terminated without notice We have all messages we havent been ignoring them or missing payments Its been less then a month when we told them we wanted to do monthly payments in which they agreed was on the 14th of each month and its the 2nd today and they cancelled our agreement without notice we feel taken advantage of and misdirected as to what the basis of the agreement of contract was/is and we keep telling them every week that we agreed to the 14th of every month Upon initially starting the contract I paid 100$ towards the merchandise and one of the employees told us that the 100$ would cover the first month until the initial 14th payment would start and they just kept calling demanding payment and giving us different payment days and prices Were a young couple and they keep misguiding us on the rental agreement and we feel abused and taken advantage of we would like to keep the initial payment for the 14th of every month because our paychecks can cover that as of right now we dont know what to do but come to you

      Last year my fiance went into this business and went into contract renting to own a Apple iPad 9th generation. I cosigned for her. Well, after she had done this, we had to go to ****** because of my mother failing health followed by her death. During that time, we were unable to make a payment on this item. Next thing we know there's a felony warrant against both of us. My fiance,, WHO IS 37 YEARS OLD AND NEVER IN TROUBLE IN HER ADULT.LIFE, has been arrested on it and is currently going to court for 3rd Degree Grand Theft (WHICH CARRIES A **** YEAR PRISON SENTENCE) in Hilsborough County court. We couldn't return the device as it was in *****, **. and we were in ******. I would like everyone to know that Debtors Prison is an actual thing in ******* even though the rest of the country has abolished it. This is something that should be explained from the very beginning, they are accusing us of intentionally stealing from them. As if it was our intention to never pay them. We couldn't make a payment as we were recently unemployed because of having to temporary relocate due to family sickness and death and having to take up the responsibility of executor of mother's estate, and we couldn't return it as the item was in storage back in *****.This item cost $650 from them, even though just 6 months later the item goes for $329 @ the Apple store brand new. We are being charged with a 3rd degree felony which requires stealing $750 or more in merchandise.from someone. EVERY POTENTIAL CUSTOMER SHOULD KNOW AND BE INFORMED OF THE POTENTIAL RISKS THAT THEY ARE TAKING IN DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THAT SOMEHOW THEY ARE IN CAHOOTS WITH THE D.A.'S OF HILSBOROUGH COUNTY *******. HAD I KNOWN THIS WAS EVEN A POSSIBILITY WHEN GOING INTO.CONTRACT WITH THEM, IT WOULD HAVE IMMEDIATELY THROWN UP A RED FLAG AND DETERRED ME FROM DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM.

      The co-signers on this account signed a rental agreement for an ipad, and made one payment for the item.  When their second scheduled (and agreed upon) payment became past due, the store contacted the customers for payment and/or return of product.  The store attempted to contact the customer from October 2022 to January ******************************* return of the item, but the store never had any response from the customer.   Customer states they could not return the product since they were in ****** but they could have contacted the store with a payment plan for our property.  We are sorry for the loss of their family member but do feel they had ample time to return our calls/texts or reach out to us.  We follow the law as outlined in ******* statutes, clearly stated on the agreement that each customer has to sign, as the last step when we have made every attempt to contact the customer for resolution but they do not respond.
