My daughter went to drop her friends off at home and went in very quickly to use the restroom and leave. After 4 minutes and 37 seconds she comes out with the car being hitched to a tow truck. The driver ran to jump on the truck while my daughter is saying wait stop I'm 17. Instead of the driver stopping offering a drop fee for the illegal tow he speeds off. When the owner of the home took my daughter to the tow yard to pick up the car they advised to him by showing the bylaws that he wrongfully towed my car. It was about 8:30 when the car was towed and cars are to be towed for street parking after 10. The driver proceeded to lie stating he wasn't the driver when he is clearly on video footage. We have video and ring footage as I have a dash cam in the car. I would like my $208 back because it was an unlawful tow and he knew that. No signs are posted for tow away and it clearly stated in the *** bylaws no street parking after 10pm. This has to stop for these illegal tows.Business Response

Attached is the memo that was mailed out to residents. The drop if due immediately upon picking up vehicle the under age child was yelling & screaming no payment no release by drivers cannot interact with a yelling upset minor... no payment no drop no wait for mommy to answer phone. When they came to pickup vehicle mommy had to pay.

They towed my car off my personal property/outv of my driveway at 3am with no paperwork or authorization. They demanded cash. Have no reciept or paperwork. They drove in marked vehicles. They are doing business as a dissolved company name. They have there towing sign attached to a speed limit sign before the community. They messed up my steering when towing my car and I had to have it repaired bc they used a repo type truck to yank it out of my driveway. They tore up my driveway with there equipment. I was charged $280 by the tow truck, $180 to fix my car and not sure on driveway cost yet.Business Response

Good morning pls see attachment we're under contract with a private property association they hired us to remove vehicles blocking sidewalk, street parking etc... see contract attached. Attempted to retrieve our vehicle from tow yard. Person refused to provide any useful information when asked to explain breakdown of the charges. Person was rude and cursed at me multiple time on multiple calls. Was forced to call back multiple times because they continued to hang up on me because I asked questions. This guy was super upset because his vehicle was impounded these people are always upset! 2nd of all the conversation was recorded by my tow company giving him the break down so I don't understand why he's saying he wasn't given a breakdown...? the breakdown was given to him twice on 2 separate days he kept calling & arguing saying but why this why that...! It was explained to him TWICE we are a towing company we cannot stay with u on the phone 10min trying for u to understand the charges when they were broken down for u on Saturday & when u called today... good thing we record all calls! And the cursing part is that u think cuz ur the customer that u can cause at us & we don't have the right to cause back at u????? Why do u think this? If u want respect give respect! Yes, the phone was hung up EVERYTIME U CALLED DISPATCHER A BIT** & OTHER VERY DISRESPECTFUL NAMES! It took u 26 days to pick up ur vehicle from the tow yard the charges u received were only for 6 days. The woman who was in charge of answering the phone was always extremely rude and very unprofessional. We initially spoke on 7/30, after having to explain how we received their number, they gave us a total bill of nearly 400 dollars more than what the itemized breakdown we received had showed. According to her estimation she was in possession of the car for a number of days more than the lien notice we received had explained. Based on the higher estimate I told her I would have to call her back later. I finally made the decision to pick up the car on 8/2 Tuesday morning. Prior to going to the address left on the lien notice I decided to text the number I had been corresponding with asking for another explanation of the charges to which I received no response. I waited until after their posted opening time to call once again to say I was ready to pick up the car. Again, I was insistent on receiving a full breakdown based on the dubious behavior we'd encountered thus far in our transaction. My inquiry was met with a rude and condescending tone before she finally began rattling off a list of charges and fees in quick succession. After agreeing to pay the higher amount, we waited another hour for the tow truck to arrive to the address listed on the lien notice. After the tow driver verified that I had indeed made the payment through Zelle, the only other payment option was cash (With who I'm assuming was the woman I had been speaking with) he explained that my vehicle was at another address that was "close by". Upon arriving at the address we received we found that it was not a car lot but a random patch of dirt shared by a trailer and a BBQ food truck. The car was left next to a bbq smoker not only unlocked but had the hood ajar. I've attached what supporting documentation I have from our brief but horrendous interaction. At the end of the day I ended up paying more than what the lady even had quoted me and no receipt was provided.
