This will be the second complaint to Aamco. My jeep had its engine replaced under an endurance warranty. The Aamco location at ***************************************************************** was unable to get my jeep running. They have directly lied, slandered and refused to provide documentation for repairs. Aamco doesnt offer a method to contact customer support and I am not going back to someone that doesnt staff competent mechanics. As Aamco doesnt offer a communication with anyone aside from a garage this is my only method to establish communication for a repair. The jeep has been taken to a dealership after trying to drive it for 1000 miles. We discovered a majority of the symptoms were bad sensors and a bad transmission switch. These are things **** at Aamco couldnt find even with outside help. We are now at a point that this engine Aamco and **** installed is leaking oil and the jeep dealership has stated in writing which I am happy to provide that all the gaskets on this newer engine are bad and need replacement. I do not feel secure or safe trusting my vehicle to **** and his staff attempt to fix these gaskets as its in depth and they have proven that they have no integrity or honesty as they have lied to myself and my father directly and double backed on earlier statements unable to keep a straight story on their side of the matter. What I am seeking is to have Aamco cover the cost to have the jeep dealership perform the gasket replacements and main seal. Also its been mentioned in the past as an excuse trying to blame the mileage of the vehicle yet all these issues with the main seal and gaskets reflect the new engine installed, not the vehicle. The statement below shows several issues however all we are seeking is the main seal and gaskets from that invoice. We prefer Aamco pay jeep directly as we do not want any monetary gains and just want a working vehicle fixed by someone we can trust. We are open to suggestions.

According to AAMCO of Tampa, the consumer brought his 2012 Jeep to them in January with obvious engine issues.   The consumer had contracted with a third party extended warranty carrier, Endurance, to cover certain repairs and Endurance authorized and paid for a replacement of the engine block which AAMCO of Tampa provided and warranted at an approximate cost of $7,000.  Upon completion of that repair, AAMCO of Tampa determined that an engine oil cooler adapter was leaking and would likely cause further damage unless replaced.  This repair was not covered by Endurance so the consumer authorized and paid for this replacement at a cost of $310.   Upon completion of the adapter replacement, AAMCO of Tampa determined that a short in a wiring harness was causing further problems and potential damage to the engine, but a recommended replacement of the harness was hampered by a national back order of the necessary replacement part.  Nevertheless, AAMCO of Tampa arranged to have a qualified third-party electrical specialist provide a repair to the defective harness at no charge to the consumer which corrected the wiring short.  AAMCO of Tampa has also provided its customer with all documentation that it is lawfully required to provide.

More recently, the consumer returned the Jeep in May to AAMCO of Tampa with a charging system problem.  That problem necessitated replacement of a power control module at a cost of approximately $1200 which Endurance covered less a $100 deductible fee paid by the consumer.  At this point, the consumer has raised an issue with a check engine light that sporadically lights up and which AAMCO of Tampa attributes to an aftermarket alarm previously installed by a third-party provider.   AAMCO of Tampa stands by its warranty on the engine block and cooler line adapter, but accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any other problems that this consumer might experience with a twelve year old Jeep at nearly 180K miles of wear.  Feel free to call me with any questions.

I am rejecting this response because: Aamco has refused to provide invoices of labor or parts. Aamco corporate rep ********* is extremely unprofessional and refused to have her manager follow up as requested. ********* also called in anger over this complaint accusing me of having alterior motives when all I have asked for is a working vehicle. Aamco has taken 7 months to attempt to resolve engine related issues and has run a continual string of excuses to explain the engine and engine codes not working correctly. Aamco in writing promised all codes had been resolved, at the moment of pickup the engine key fob was dead and I had to use the key to manually open the vehicle and turn off the alarm with my mobile app. The owner saw this as an yet another opportunity to blame something else for the engine issues insinuating a professionally installed alarm system as the reason now for engine lights involving the cam shaft and oil pressure sensor and limp mode lights on the dash. The owner has shown consistent attempts or lack of competence to avoid repairing the vehicle as demonstrated by 7 months of effort. Simple fact, its been 7 months, owner in email promised all issues resolved and nothing was resolved that very same day. At this point what I require is a receipt of all parts including the engine and its mileage from donor vehicle and labor of the actual parts installed with dates of purchase as the owner already tried sending a fraudulent part receipt dated months after the installation. I also will not allow the owner to strong arm me into bringing back my vehicle for any engine warranty claims as his shop is no longer trusted. I will need the contract revised to allow to me take the engine warranty to the dealership if it becomes a warranty issue. If thats not acceptable then offer to buy out the warranty.

    Sincerely,

    *******************

My ********** moved from ********** to Florida last year. On 10/9/23 I had my car towed into Aamco to have my transmission serviced. The ************************* tells me that my transmission is shot & it will cost $4,828.15 to have it rebuilt. He asked did I want to have the transmission financed & I declined. I told him to fix it since he had already taken it out I was at his mercy. On 10/13/23 I received from Aamco saying that my car is ready for pick up. I go to get my ******* pay the $4,828.15 he didnt ask for my name, address or phone number but I paid in full. My car seemed ok but on 10/23/23 I noticed that my car wasnt switching gears. So I parked it then I noticed transmission fluid all over my garage I was upset. I called Aamco they sent a tow truck a few hours later I got a call saying my car is ready. The owner **** told me it was a hose that caused the ************ said he fixed it but I need some motor mounts. So I took it to my mechanic ******* that same ******** said that my motor mounts are good but my transmission mount is broken & my transmission is low 2 quarts of transmission fluid I asked him to fix it. He told me that my torque converter is messed up & I should take it back to Aamco. Which I did that same day I left my car with Aamco the next day they call & say that my drive shaft is broken & it will $1,000 to fix. I declined & I picked up my ******* took it to another Aamco on 10/24/23 I asked them to check it. The next day the guy at the 2nd Aamco says its my torque converter is broken. So now I have 2 different shops saying that the torque converter is the problem. My car is still at the 2nd Aamco shop waiting for the 1st Aamco to send the new part that should have been fixed correctly the 1st time when I paid $4,828.15. I dont feel that the 1st Aamco did anything to fix my car. The owner **** is a ********** condescending he kept making up different excuses for my car not working. I feel swindled by ***************************** & I need justice for this injustice that my family is facing.

We wonder why people arent truthful about the remarks or compalints before they post it. the vehicle has towed in, undriveable, transmission issue, customer gave us authorization to go ahead and repair transmission, once vehicle was repaired, customer was called , and advised there was other issues with the vehicle, but customer declined at that time, a few weeks later we received a call from customer that there was fluid on drive way, we advised customer not to  drive it , as we would pay to have a tow truck pick up vehicle, before vehicle arrived on tow truck, the customers wife  had called the corporate office ,we ask the customer why they called corporate , he said qoute I usually handle this issues with a PISTOL, QUOTE.  we havent even had a chance to evaluate the situation with the vehicle, once vehicle  arrived , we found that the transmission lines to radiator was leaking, which we did not replace with the service, so we repaired the lines as a courtesy to the customer, the customer came to pick up vehicle, we again reminded them about the mounts & carrier bearings need to be replaced. again they declined any addtional repairs at that moment, as time went buy we had another call from  another  AAMCO were the customer  went  to that location due to being closer for them, aamco told us they was  complaing about  a vibration,, that aamco also found the same issues that we recommended , they also found that the  torque converter was defecfive, at that point we purchased a BRAND NEW ONE FROM THE DEALER, and had it sent to aamco, again we are paying aamco to repair vehilce at any cost to us. we also heard that the brand new torque converter also had issues, something to do were the torque converter locks into engine, aamco is still trying to figure out this issue.

Complaint: ******** Im Rejecting this Response.

First allow me to say that we had our car towed in with our AAA tow because the transmission was bad. Thats what someone should do if they dont want to further damage their vehicle, so Im confused to why a tow truck is even relevant to this issue. upon dropping initially our car off to the Florida Avenue location where **** is the owner they proceeded to repair or rebuild our transmission and returned it to us within four days after picking it up they did not disclose that there were any other issues until less than 10 days later, we brought it back to their location and found that the car was leaking transmission fluid due to a damaged hose **** then repaired that hose as a courtesy to us. We appreciated that and then he. Replied that we had shaking due to broken motor mounts. We declined that the motor mounts be fixed because we had the motor mounts fixed less than a year ago along with repairing everything in the vehicle besides the transmission.at that point we took it to ******** auto our reliable, trustworthy mechanic Then discovered that the transmission mount was completely destroyed, and that it had nothing to do with the motor *************************** then replaced ***** and found that there was even more shaking after the transmission mount was fixed he could not completely verify that it was the torque converter, but due to an elimination process, he suggested that that could be the issue. We then took the car back to Rosss location for him to look into that issue and we were then told that it was the driveshaft which was going to cost us almost $900, we declined having that fixed because again we could take it to ******* to have him fix it. Once we took it to ******* he then told us that the driveshaft was fine and that we needed to have them look again at the torque converter after taking our car to their location many times , we then decided to get a second opinion and took it to Oscars location, because not only was it more convenient and close to our home but we wanted to get new eyes on the situation. We kept being told that it was new issues and not the torque converter which we were told multiple times was the issue , after ***** looked at the car, he then verified that it was indeed the turbo converter After discovering that, it was that issue it verified even more that not allowing Rosss shop to Continue to work on the vehicle was a good choice. Im not exactly sure why the word pistol continues to be brought up because these conversations are apparently recorded and therefore can be listened to so that it does not continue to be taken out of context. However, we paid Rosss location for a job that was not completed, and we are not happy with, so we are completely OK with a full refund so that we can take it to another shop if they have done all that they can do. I want to definitely state that ***** has been helpful and has done everything he can do to finish something that he did not start and at this point **** cant even locate The original torque converter to see exactly what piece we are Missing. To help this process we have also Given both mechanics numbers who have worked on this vehicle To maybe allow insight to the underlying problem We are in no way, keeping any information about this vehicle from them However, this is their specialty And over the last few months has been sitting at the shop with no resolution On top of that we were given a six month warranty and are already going on three months of that warranty since the initial drop off in october. The initial rebuild only took Rosses shop four days to fix So, in our eyes, this timeline is not adding up. I would also like to add that upon contacting the Better Business Bureau, we were shocked to find that they had an F rating. I would also like to include that yes my wife did call corporate, but because she works in the customer service industry typically when an issue is handled poorly you are to reach out to upper management for help in resolving issues to this magnitude. In conclusion, we would just like the job done that we paid for and everything else is irrelevant.

    Sincerely,

    **********************

April 10 2023 I picked my car up from AAMCO after they had my car two weeks prior to me picking my car on the 10th. they was supposed to fix was my transmission be cause it started slipping between 40/50mhp. So I had to take my grand ******* back a week later cause the car was still doing the same thing I just paid ******* for them to fix. When I take my car back cause its still slipping they said my transmission acting up cause I needed more work done to the car so I had them replace the pion seal, replace booth U-joints, replace shocks/struts which came up to ******* not on of having to pay for a rental car for 3 weeks(1000$) because they kept giving me the run around bout my car

    Business response

    06/20/2023

The car originally came in with a bad transmission. Once that was repaired, we found the bad struts, shocks, and u-joints. We told him in order to stop the car from vibrating these repairs would need to be made. The car was done in a timely manner which was agreed upon. In addition to that we do not make parts, we special order them. And we do not compensate for rental cars, we are a repair shop only.

** December 2022, my truck broke down. The engine was rebuilt 1yr ago by Aamco Tampa. It was brought to an Aamco in ************, ** where they then asked for my oil change documents to make sure the vehicle was still covered underneath the warranty, which was confirmed. Tampa then authorized for ************ Aamco to take out my engine and ship it to the Tampa location. After 3 months of no communication about my vehicle I finally heard a response back from Tampa. They stated that my engine ran out of oil so it wouldnt be covered underneath the warranty. Due to EPA laws the oil was drained from my truck before it was shipped and they are unable to prove that was case as they never asked ************ to look into it (I have a recording of ************ stating this). ************ Aamco has admitted that Tampa was at fault as well and need to fix my truck. I have tried to contact Tampa Aamco numerous times, but they send my number straight to voicemail and will not respond to my emails. They have not contacted ************ Tampa either. Therefore my truck is still sitting on the ************ lot without an engine and will cost me over $5,000 to put an used engine in it according to ************, Tampa. ************ Tampa also informed me that the way they handled the business with my truck was completely backwards as they never should have rebuilt an engine with over ******* miles on it and the engine is no good. 5 months later Im still left with no vehicle and Tampa Aamco will not fix my truck (for the originally reason it broke down- not to note that the engine is a dud) or communicate with me at all. They are attempting to avoid paying for fixing it underneath the warranty as they were negligent on their part and didnt handle it properly the first time. I am reaching out to see if you guys can help me with contacting them as I live in ************, ** and help with getting my truck repaired as it shouldve been 5 months ago. This is highly unprofessional.

When the Aamco in **, called us about her  vehicle breaking down in **, we paid for engine to be shipped to us, at that point we sent engine to the 3rd party facility , which rebuilt engine in  the first place, we got a call from the engine shop that the  warranty was voided due to not enough oil in engine & was overheated- the engine shop told us that  would repair the damage, that would ***** us $1400.00 to repair, at that point we notified the customer. the customer went through a finance company to pay for the repairs of $1400.00. after engine was repaired, we aamco also paid for the shipping back to ga, so she can get her truck back on the road. we fill like we went way & beyond out of our obligation to help the customer resolve this issue as best as ********************** could. I took my car to AAMCO on Florida Avenue on 4/19/22 for a clutch repair and they butchered my car and never fixed the problem after multiple (8) times. They did not know what they were doing or have tools to do the job. They went over to Jim Brown Ford which is next door to borrow an alignment pin which is necessary for proper installation and they were denied the request and shoved everything together anyway, hence destroying my car. I paid them $2,550 plus I had to purchase a flywheel for who knows why for another $427. My car was at there facility and returned to me still leaking fluids again on 7/15/22. I called and was hung up on by their manager Murray who did not resolve my issue. I than took my car to a Chevrolet dealership and they told me the extent of the damage from the clutch not being installed properly therefore costing me another $2,237 to have it repaired correctly. Also there is multiple body damage on my 2021 Camaro door dings, rear exhaust was damaged and crushed against the rear faring. Missing paint off my cars front quarter panel from a hard hit from something at their establishment. I take pristine care of this vehicle and hold them responsible for all of this damage and for renting a vehicle the entire duration 3 months. Sam ****** is the owner of this business but I'm unable to get in contact with him after multiple attempts.
