1-6-21 contract, upon installation 4-15-21 of my windows and sliding glass doors corners were cut on installation leading to a re-install of windows and doors when building inspector failed the install. 6-15-21, second team came out to re-install all windows and sliding doors without the correct hardware, also had to remove all the pvc trim that was glued, foamed and nailed to my house ruining the exterior mortar and paint around every window and slider doors.Installers had to cut 1/2' around the interior of each window damaging the drywall around each window. now i have 1/2" of caulk rather then stucco to match the interior. You can see the seem when looking at windows. the job was never completed, after city signed off they said they would return and refuse to come back until they are paid in full? after damaging my house's exterior and interior and refusing not only to complete the job but the screens are still in their shiping packaging. I have asked coastal green for customer service to complete the job and submit ther bill for payment for over 6 months. they refuse to complete the job, they refuse to communicate, or complete the job? I have contacted softlite windows about servicing my windows and warranty work i require on my windows and neither softlite managerCharley or brandon or the owners of coastal green refuse to service my windows? This is the short, I left a google review with a lol more info and welcome communicating my experience in depth with with intake agent.

      Business response

      06/23/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/06/09) */ This response was provided verbally to BBB: We waived the $3,500 balance owed by our customer, and will no longer be working with him as described in our letter sent to him prior to this complaint. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/06/09) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Coastal green has caused more than $3500 in damages to interior & exterior of my home, have refused to complete the second installation of windows and doors completely without demanding payment in full(i have it on video). The Screens & interior trim, weather stripping for windows & doors are still in their original shipping boxes. Coastal green failed at every step from first install, did not follow through with secound re-installation after failing code and now wants to throw their hands in the air and say "sorry keep the balance"? Coastal green services the life time warranty on mybwindows, who warrantys my windows?! I have already contacted the window manufacturer, Regional manager charly qwig of softlite windows representing softlite windows told me "the install company where windows are purchased from, services my "lifetime warranty"? Softlite windows will not send out a service team or put another one of their install vendors in contact to me to take over my service contract for my windows & doors from this point forward. Since coastal green is too impotent to do so themselves. Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/06/10) */ The project was installed per the contract and passed inspection. After inspection passed, there is a final phase of plug and trim with drywall and stucco repairs- which were completed last year. We also sent the manufacturer out to the homeowner's house for a walk through on the project. Both the customer and manufacturing signed off on all windows and doors functioning as intended and the customer signed off on completion with the service department in regard to the plug and trim with repairs to drywall and stucco with no final payment. After multiple emails, calls, threats and verbal threats for the safety of staff we were advised to not visit the property and out of good faith waive the $3500 balance to part ways peacefully. Project is installed as contracted, complete and passed all inspections with the county. Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2022/06/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Coastal green has breached our contract? They have failed to uphold their contract? They took a 50% deposit per our contract then damaged my house installing their products twice into my home after failing inspection. last june I invited Stashia the owner out to my house and showed her the damages done by her crew on interior and exterior around each one of my windows and sliding door walls, She said she would send her A team installer to complete the job. the owner requested I pay her right then and there in my driveway another $3500 towards balance to expedite the installation of my windows asap?! I still have all the screens & trim pieces in their original shipping wrapping & boxes? Stashia the owner breached our contract by collecting extra money to "complete the contract", send the A-team (rob) to complete installation fully with correct door hardware so doors open fully, screens fit in frame so screens can be used?! That complete installation of products were never completed and just left as-is. The damages to my house exceed the balance owed to Coastal green so this business just wants to waive their balance and in doing so walk away breaching their installation contract and breaching the "lifetime warranty" to my windows and glass doors that i was sold on by their sales team!? Coastal greens sales tactics included the "lifetime warranty", servicing that warranty when I have, cracks, chips, loss of Aragon gas for all my windows or glass doors? I was sold on the best low e aragon filled products on the market? The manufacturers do not recognize coastal greens life-time warranty? who will Warranty my windows and doors? Furthermore, coastal green was contracted to install and warranty my purchase of "custom measured" windows and glass doors, they have breached the contract morally, professionally and have not completed the installation? I have never received said letter but I have a timeline and phone records to show i have called coastal green at least twice a month since August of last year requesting them to complete the installation completely? I just had Swinco (the glass door manufacturer) 2 service managers out to my house last week. they both said the glass doors have the wrong handles on the glass doors, the screens wont fit til other handles are installed and none of the window and glass door trim pieces are installed. They refused to do any service until they spoke to Ron the owner of Swinco this week. Coastal green has been given week after week of requests for over 6 months to complete the installation of the products they sold me and warranty them? This has been going on for a year? In Jan of 2022 the owners husband came to my house with a team of 2 guys, I showed them them the windows and doors and the owner - shook his head at what he saw and then told me agressively, I needed to pay him in full before they completed the installation? I did not feel that was reasonable after what i already experienced with their services so, I asked them to complete the installation and invoice me the balance because I had damages caused by them that would have to be address afterwards but the owner threw his hands in the air and aggressively walked out of my house telling me they would not complete the installation until he was paid in full and that they would not be paying for or repairing any damages to the interior and exterior of my houses paint. I do not believe any reasonable person should consider coastal Green energy solutions as a company you can trust to honor their work or their life time warranty for that matter that they push in their sales!!!

On June 4 we were given a demonstration for new windows. We agreed to purchase the windows that we were shown and had the windows installed on September 28,2021. When thee windows were installed the installer noted that one window was measured wrong and would need to be replaced. We left to go out of state just hours after the installation was completed. While on vacation we received At least three or more phone calls, text messages, and emails daily (on each of our phones) requesting us to approve the financing. We Repeatedly explained that we were out of town and not able to inspect the installation. After constant harassing we told them yes just to stop the Constant calling. When we returned home and inspected the windows we noticed that the windows installed were not what we had agreed upon, and we were told that our blinds would be able to be reused and they were not. The County permit is still open because it failed inspection, because of the window not working ( doesn't open). We have called almost daily requesting that someone return our phone call to discuss all of the issues, and we cannot even get a return phone call. We have submitted a complaint with the finance company as well, But don't seem to be getting anywhere with them either.

Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2021/12/06) */ Contact Name and Title: Saesha N. Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXX Contact Email: ******@coastalgreenenergy.com Thank you for your feedback and with the communication that we have had with you in reference to the issues are happy that we have come to a resolution so that you are satisfied. Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2021/12/06) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) On Nov. 12 the manager finally called us to discuss the problems. I texted him photos of some of the issues. He said he he would be sending a check for part of the issues and would have someone come out to look at other issues. We have not heard anything from him since November 15th. We still have one window that won't open, one that won't lock, and not to mention all the windows are not what we were shown and thought we were ordering. We feel like it was a bait and switch!! It's disappointing that we do not have what we were under the impression that we were ordering. Business Response /* (4000, 17, 2021/12/22) */ This response was taken verbally by BBB: The customer called us right after they submitted a rebuttal asking if they could pay for double hung windows because that was not what was contracted for. They were contracted for single hung windows. They requested that we only go out one time when the screens come in to address any issues. The screens are coming tomorrow and we are giving them a check for the blinds as goodwill. When we put in the screens we will address the issue with the window. I will reach out to the customer today. Consumer Response /* (3000, 24, 2022/04/01) */ This issue has NOT been resolved!! We were told the company would replace all of the windows with the windows we ordered and agreed upon. I have tried several times to reach out and get updates on when new windows will be replaced, but have not received a response. We have been patient but at this point it's ridiculous that we've been waiting 6 months. Business Response /* (4000, 29, 2022/04/21) */ We have spoken to the customer numerous times and as agreed out of good faith by Coastal we reordered the double hung windows. They were ordered and have been in production. We have received part of the order in house waiting on 2 remaining windows. Once those have been received, then we will call for the installation. Unfortunately, due to supply chain and delays with glass that has caused this delay. Consumer Response /* (3000, 31, 2022/04/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) We have called Coastal 2 times to get updates ( we've not spoken numerous times) They informed us the windows would be in at the end of April and should be scheduled for install in May. Until the correct windows are properly installed and the building permit is passed and closed, we do not feel this issue should be finalized. (Note: building department delivered a notice on 4/19/2022 that permit was expired and if not renewed/completed a lien would be placed on our home. )
