1 starSo far terrible. Im trying to connect service at a nee home purchase. The previous owner couldnt pay the bill so its currently off. 2.5h on hold yesterday. Finally, they answered. They set a tech to come 8-5p today with 30m notice. No call, no messages, no emails. Im driving there to check to see if he showed without following their protocols. Ive called today - 1h15m on hold and they hung up on me. 40m into a new call now. The state of FL needs to investigate this. We may need to change to propane or all electric at home if we cant figure this out. Fwiw, the lady on customer service yesterday was a sweetheart. The leadership at *** should be embarrassed of this performance. In 2025 they operate like its 1985.Review fromTheresa (representative for Kenneth C. Burch) F

1 starBeen on hold for 1 hour. The message keeps saying contact customer care but no one answers. Why dont they have a site on line where someone can ask a question. Why dont they have a we will give you a return call option. I bet if I said I wanted to pay a bill someone would answer. I can see why they are not accredited by the BBB. I gave them the 1st star because there was not one lower.Review fromRoberta M

1 starOr really ZERO! Our appointment to turn on gas was between 9am and 12 noon. It's 1:58 and no show or call. I've been listening to music on the customer ******* for over 25 min and I was told 10 minutes at the beginning. I'm not the only one here calling and they have been calling since noon and on hold for over an hour. Still no answer. There is no customer service or customer care. Only a captive audience.Review fromMichelle S

Before I tell of my experience it should be known the Florida Public ****************** does not regulate LP usage, if that explains things. Ive been a customer for many years, but my monthly bill started steadily increasing. Despite this I recently started looking into a backup generator and that is when I started to realize something was wrong. I would call to get information so I could make an informed decision, but when I called back to gain additional information, I would be told that the previous information was incorrect. This happened a few times. So I never knew what was accurate. Then I started tracking the meter reading against what I was being charged and learned that they were only reading the meter once a quarter and estimating based on previous years usage the other month, causing my bill to have huge swings in the amount owed, and there was no restricted access to my meter. They did offer me the option of submitting a photo of the meter every month to avoid the overcharging which I did to get a correct bill, guess that was one way of cutting corners and customer service. So I started calling their competitors to get quotes. Their competitors charge $2 less per gallon and half the monthly tank rental and from what I hear from friends and reviews have excellent customer service, but my usage for stove and hot water heater didnt meet their minimums of 2 fill *** per year. So I was stuck with FPU if I wanted to continue LP service. They probably know that. I decided to switch to electric and notified them of service disconnection. I have just received my final bill where they charged me $150 to remove THEIR equipment less refund of my $50 deposit, and I owe $100! But I am now done with them and my savings, after the cost of purchasing the new appliances should allow me to break even in a couple years compared to continuing to pay their exorbitant prices forever. I would have preferred to continue using LP. Highly DO NOT recommend!Florida Public Utilities

Hello,
A propane customer reports that she has been improperly billed for monthly usage and the removal of a propane tank.
On January 17, upon receiving this inquiry, a Quality Analyst instructed the Propane Operations Manager to review the account and determine an appropriate resolution.
On January 18, the Propane Operations Manager reported the following:
On November 16, 2023, the customer inquired about the abnormally high usage billed on her November invoice. A representative explained she has a meter attached to the propane tank. For metered accounts, the Propane department bills a customers monthly usage based on estimated reads for two months and an actual read every third month. If the actual read indicates the estimated amount exceeds the actual usage, they will receive a credit on their account. However, if the actual usage exceeds the estimated amount, they will be charged for the unbilled usage. In this instance, the actual usage exceeded the estimated amount. The representative suggested that she submit a picture of the meter read every month to avoid estimated reads in the future.
On December 8, the customer informed a representative she would submit a picture of her meter read.
On December 29, a technician removed the meter per the customers request, thereby terminating the customers account. The attached contract agreement terms provide that a $500.00 fee is charged for the tank removal. The customer was billed $150.00 for the removal as an accommodation.
Respectfully,

I sent it back in large brown envelope so it wouldnt be missed. Well its been missed. Im not sure what happened to this company. In the beginning I had a local representative I could call for issues. Not now. **************** is terrible! I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone.Florida Public Utilities

Hello,
A propane customer reports that she has made two payments in November for propane deliveries, but they have not been credited to her account.
On January 17, upon receiving this inquiry, a Propane Operations Manager reviewed the account and observed that the payments had been credited to the customers account on January 2.
On January 23, a representative left a message requesting a return call to update her on her payment status.Respectfully,

Good afternoon,
The customer reports that her meter is not being read consistently and disputes the charges on her July invoice.
On August 16, the Regional Manager reported the customers meter read had been estimated twice in the last four months due to a dog in the yard. The associated monthly bills were based on estimated usage. The following month when reads were obtained, the bills included previously unbilled usage. A representative relayed this information to the customer. The customer informed the representative that there is always someone home to allow the technician access and that she does not want estimated bills. The representative informed the meter read team to knock on the customers door, if needed to obtain safe access. Later that day, a technician obtained a read and the billing team adjusted the customers July invoice.Thank you,

Horrible, horrible company and policies. First off, your company sucks and should go out of business. Services was disconnected on Thursday the 21st, paid bill that same day. Called Friday the 22nd to have services restored and was told oh I will have to wait till Monday. So now because of their shady policies my kids and I have to be here 3 freaking days with no gas, no hot water to bathe while these ******** get to go about their day. I guess my entire area is completely filled with disconnections and restorations and the one phantom, lowly tech can't possibly turn on everyone services. I then asked the rep how would she feel if it was her or her family and she told me she would understand because if they are fully booked they are fully booked. The hell she would understand and she is just talking out her ass because it is not her or her family so why should she care. A big company like this and only a few techs work to the point that they are fully booked to restore services. Ridiculous. And no restorations are done on the weekends. Plus, if u ask for restorations same day u call u have to pay 200 on next bill. According to them. And dont tell me anything about paying bill on time this one lowly time because shit happens. Point is bill was paid in full and still have to wait three days before they reconnect. This is all a money making ploy for them. Have it turned on the same day u call them u shell out 200, wait a day later for reconnection you pay 75. Like what!!!!! Why do one even need to call you to have it restored. Point is your company sucks big time, your techs suck big time, your supervisors suck and needs to be retrained and I'm counting down the days till I'm rid of u and no longer have to do business with any of u. Good luck to the others who have to deal with your company. That one star was a freebie because honestly u deserve no stars for your horrendous services.Florida Public Utilities

Good afternoon,
The customer was disconnected for non-payment and sought a same-day reconnection.
On June 22, the customer was disconnected for non-payment.
On June 23, the customer paid the past-due balance and called the office to schedule her service restoration. Initially, there was no availability to complete the reconnection. After some scheduling adjustments were made, a technician reconnected the customers service.
Thank you,

1 starZero Stars. These folks are the worst. I just reviewed my bill. I left town the day of the last reading, returning a week later with a broken foot. Hot water heater off while away, no laundry or cooking for three weeks, minimal use of shower for rest of billing cycle. Yet, my usage went from approximately 6 gallons to 12 gallons last month. How does that happen? Christmas bonus time for the employees. Over two years ago they changed the auto pay system, I didn't notice and paid while I had a serious case of *****. The amount owed was two months, and I paid double by accident - equivalent of four months. They still turned my gas off (75% still in tank) and charged me extra as if they filled if from empty (150 gallons) and charged reconnect fees - and I still had a balanced owed them on next bill. It took four days to send someone to reconnect me - I was heating water in a coffee pot for everything. I realized after their worker came in maskless that he had not been told I had Covid. That was the reason for I couldn't get on the schedule. The worker flew out of my house, feet not touching the ground. I never got the $475 in overpayment and other fees they stole from me. That makes them thieves. Thieves. Thieves. The overpayment was my grocery money. I got to eat dollar store food for a month until I recovered and caught up. You can call their "main" office and spend hours being switched everywhere, spend time on hold listening to their recordings about how much they care about your safety then dropped from hold, etc. If you have a choice, choose a different service.
