  Hi my name is ***************************** live on 42 ************************************** in ********* ** I was in the process of trying to renew my car registration online in *************. A company called VEHICL*MARE mimicked the real RMVs website and flooded my email box with reminders from ***************************** where they fraudulently charged me $60 and a $17 processing fee . Basically ***************************** mimicked the RMVs website so well I was confused and tricked into giving my debit card info to renew my car registration . I tried to call the phone number listed for VEHICL*MARE - the line doesnt go to an actual human being , an automated voice tells you to respond via text to *****************************. Please see below my email then text exchange from VEHICL*MARE : Email they sent to me??:*************************,You are receiving this email because you are an active member of our One-Click Renewal program and our records indicate that the registration for plate number 8EV595 expires at the end of this month.To renew your registration now, simply follow this link. You will be prompted to verify the information on file prior to submitting payment. There's no faster, easier way to renew!Should you choose to renew at a *** location, have already renewed, or no longer own this vehicle, please click here so we can update our records and remove you from this independent third-party program. If you have any questions, you may reply to this email for prompt support from our team.Thank you,Registration Support Text to me :Your vehicle could not be located using the information you provided. An email has been sent to ********************* with further instructions. Please reply promptly to that email to prevent cancellation of your renewal.Text from me in response :This is a fraudulent charge return my money immediately! I've already contacted my bank and I'm reporting you to the better business bureau . Their response to me: We can not locate your vehicle

  The services we provide are not fraudulent. As stated in bold, prominent places throughout our site, we are a privately owned third-party renewal agency. We explain that you may either renew directly through the ***************** portal, or you may appoint us as your agent to renew your registration on your behalf for an additional fee that covers several benefits exclusive to our site, including Night/Weekend Support, Ticket Protection, enrollment in our One-Click Renewal Program, and more.It is not possible to submit a transaction on our site without first checking that box and signing your full legal name, explicitly acknowledging our third-party status and authorizing ** to process your renewal.

  Plate number 8EV595 has been renewing its registration through our third party platform for the last 2 years. The plate associated with the vehicle registered to this car no longer matched the records on file with the ***, so we corresponded with the customer to let them know the information they provided needed to be updated before we could proceed with the requested approval. Upon receiving a text response that they wanted a refund, we immediately cancelled their transaction and voided the charge, per their request. There's nothing more that needs to be done as the funds were returned to the customer as we were unable to complete a transaction on their behalf....for the third year in a row.
