On 1/26/21 Atlantic Key Energy/Lumio used deceptive sales techniques and overcharged for solar panels to be installed, and I'm stuck with a $47, ****** loan with their finance partner ******** for extremely overpriced solar panels, the average cost for a 2000 sq ft. home is around 30K. My home is less than 1400 sq. ft. There are many terrible complaints, class action lawsuits, against this company and its lenders. I cannot reach this company. It appears they are no longer in business, which voids their warranty and is in breach of their contract with me. It appears from my research they have done this to many people using different finance partners. So they get their money but do not install or maintain the solar panels. this is fraud.

Salesman *************************** came to my house to sell me solar. Always say no to door to door salesman but had been interested in solar for a while so I said yes. Was told the monthly cost of the loan would be based on my average electric bill, $250.00 and that for the first year I could not have 100% production so I would have to pay my electric company a small portion. Was also told after 18 month the loan would increase but if I put the 26% tax credit back into the loan the monthly cost would remain the same. First issue is after a year I am still paying my electric company close to $100 a month on top of the solar loan. Second issue the tax credit is not a refundable amount given back to me by the *** so there is no way to put this money back into the loan to keep the cost down. The credit simply applies to my taxes and if I owe if will be deducted from this credit. So now my solar loan has increased to $343 per month on top of the $100 to my electric company. I am paying over $400 per month in "electric cost". Where is the savings? Called AKE about the misleading tax information, they said they are not tax expert, to call a tax expert or to contact the loan holder, Goodleap. Called Goodleap, they only do the loan, they told me to call AKE. Basically I was lied to by a slick salesman. I feel silly and will go back to my always say no philosophy. Now I'm stuck for the next 23 years paying this high solar loan on top of my electric bill and my only savior would be to sell the house. Who's going to want to buy the house with this awful solar deal. I want my solar to function properly so that I don't have to continue to pay the electric company as I was promised. I was even told I might receive credits from the electric company for putting energy back into the grid. I want my loan to go back to the original cost since I am not able to put the 26% tax credit back into the loan as I was promised.

I was deceived by the salesman Jake Holgate. I asked multiple times what happens if I need a new roof. He stated that they would come and remove and replace the panels 1 time for a new roof. Showed me on his iPad. Now that I have noticed that the panels have caused damage to *******. I just asked them to honor what they promised and remove and replace the panels.that is it. I have been given the run around for 3 years now and I want results. I want what was promised. Which is for AKE to make arrangements with the roofing company and simply remove and replace. This is my last attempt of being nice. Before AKE is forcing me to hire an Attorney. Go to the Media. Social media. And the Attorney General of the ****************. Please help. And just honor what AKE promised.

The door to door salespeople from Atlantic Key Energy aka Lumio regularly use deceitful practices to get customers to sign up for solar panels. After a promise of no more power bills and a hefty income tax credit, they present their tablet device to the customer to "sign for a credit check" which is really a full contract to lease the solar panels. They are trained in slick sales tactics and know how to shade the truth. In my case I feel I was taken advantage of because of my age. I don't own a cell phone or a computer. I never knew you could sign a contract with your finger on a screen. I'm a 92 year old veteran on social security. Even the notarizing was done illegally. I was never asked for ID and the notary never saw me in person or otherwise. Now, the finance company that they deal with, Sunnova in Texas, says I'm on the hook for payments for 25 years. Not too long after the panels were installed, my roof started leaking into the house. It took dozens of phone calls to get a serviceman out to check the roof. There's much more to this horror story that matches a lot of the other complaints on this page. I have filed complaints with the Attorney General in Florida and in Texas and other government agencies but have heard nothing back. I want to warn people that if they are shopping for solar panels to take time to research the companies! Don't get scammed like I did!
