Work was not done correctly the first time. Renewal by Andersen sent the same crew to my house to do the work the second time which was done the same way as the first time, the work is horrible. The product is subpar and Im very disappointed I cant get a hold of **** the crew ******* overseeing the job, he ignores my phone calls, and my text messages. I cant get any help from anybody in this company. Very disappointed. All my complaints fall on deaf ears. I placed the order for my window and doors in July of 2022. Installation took place in March 2023 .They came out in October ************************************************************************************** March, which never happened. When the crew arrived to do the the repairs in January ****, they made the same exact mistakes when installing the product they did the first time around. renewal by Andersens is a joke, especially their employees, and the product isnt any better than anything you can buy at Lowes.Business Response

We had new windows installed from Renewal by Andersen in Central Florida, and have been trying to pass final inspection for 5 months. Renewal does not answer their phone unless you call first thing in the morning, then if you leave a message they never return your call. They do not seem to care about the customer passing inspection at all. I would be very cautious in using them to replace windows.Business Response

An Andersen Window Salesman came into my house to sell me windows. He emphasized the Company name and reputation. He claimed we were getting the BEST hurricane windows on the market! He showed us an add from ********** that sold windows for $1400. each and were not hurricane windows. Then he told us the price for 3 windows were $9000. We explained that being on Social Security we really couldn't afford that, he then said they had a finance *** and we filled out the paperwork to finance. and it would be only $288. a month. My husband said to secure our house and not have to worry about it, it would be worth it. So we signed a contract for them to do the job !About a week later a guy came out to measure the windows and wanted us to sign a paper to get a permit. He did say that the county might want shutters put up ( i thought he was talking about wooden sutters on each side of the windows?) so i said is that going to cost us more and he said it comes with the windows if we need them. nothing was explained to us! that they were talking about alluminum shutters, that they would have to be put up by us, and that was because we were not getting hurricane windows !!So the loan *** ********, paid half the money to make the windows.and on 11/28 installers came out to install the windows.on that day i heard alot of banging outside my front windows , when i went out to see what was going on they were hanging alluminum shutters over my new windows. i asked "what are those'? to which he responded "alluminum hurricane shutters" and i said " why would i need hurricane shutters when i have hurricane windows?' he said " these are not hurricane windows " at that point i had 12 holes on each side of my windows, screws 2 inches coming out of those 12 holes ! i was very upset so the installers called their manager who told them to take out the screws and just leave the holes.that manager came by the next day to say 1. i know your upset with the holes, all you need to do is put the screws in and paint over them to make it look better, 2. i live in the area if you cant' put the *********** i'll come by to help you out. constant comunnication has gotten me no where ! AND to top it off, i tried to explain to the loan *** that i was not excepting these windows yet they paid them the second half of the money! NOW THE COMPANY WON'T EVEN RETURN MY CALLS !Business Response

We installed and delivered the product per the sales agreement they signed and are ready to have the job inspected if they provide us with a date that would work for them.Customer Answer

Complaint: 21151226
I am rejecting this response because:they say I signed the sales agreement that agreement did NOT say I was being given hurricane shutters! Or that I need them. They lead me to believe I was getting hurricane windows otherwise I would have NOT purchased these ! Knowing my husband and I are too old to put up shutters! They never said nor does the agreement state that I only wanted half window screens !
they only want to come out to finish the inspection!? So whos supposed to fix the holes in my siding? And paint? Am I supposed to pay someone to do that ?I dont want these shutters! Didnt order them!
if I need to settle for these windows I expect to be compensated for the difference !!
Sincerely,

Renewal by Andersen has taken over 1 year to install my doors and windows. I signed a contract with them on December 2. The contract stated that they would have this complete within 6 months. My sales rep ******************* has not responded to any e-mails from me or his coworkers in over 9 months. It was stated that Renewal by Andersen would handle the *** approvals and all workers would be hired by their company. Renewal by ******** has outsourced every part of the project to local contractors and would not help with providing images to the *** until it became apparent that the project would have to be canceled. In September, the windows and doors arrived. One of the screens is damaged and the doors were the wrong color. Although it was confirmed at least 4 times that the doors would be red, they arrived brown. I was then told that doors would be expedited, and it would take about 2 months. In December I received a call that the doors shown in the design could not be made. I requested they be canceled. I was then told that sales manager would need to cancel it, but he does not respond to their e-mails. I have had to follow up with *********************** 2 times now to request that the doors that cannot be made be cancelled. I was also told that the trim around the windows would be painted/touched up when complete and that did not happen. While this is occurring my account is accruing late fees and interest that I cannot pay and should not occur because the project was not complete due to the delay of the salesperson. I am owed $243 in interest and $120 in late fees. I want to be reimbursed for the fees, for doors to be canceled, and to receive replacement screen.Business Response

I purchase windows from Renewal by Andersen April, 2017. The windows cost over $30,000.00. From date of installation till now ************************************** my bedroom. I called Andersen several times to rectify the problem, but to no avail. Finally I had a leak detection company come to my house to locate the leak. Upon finding the leak the company stated that the leak was caused by the faulty original installation by ****************** for failing to put a flashing that prevents the water from entering the home.Eventually I got a hold of Andersen ************** and someone came over to see the damage. I was told then that the window was not properly installed and they will send someone to repair the window after the Christmas holidays. I called several times already for the New Year ****, and still there was no reply. I am getting so annoyed with the run around from Andersen. Their communication is horrible. I need assistance getting through to them to repair my leaking window.Business Response

On 01/12/24 Renewal by Andersen responded with a date for 01/22/24, not 01/18 as they originally have in your response. I notice that they did not address the issue, because there is a lot of work involve in this window, which has been leaking for years. There are rotted wood, insulation and drywall repair involve. I hope they are aware of this and prepare to take care of this problem.Customer Answer

The problem is not fully completed. There is still drywall to repair, from water damage from the window. Renewal by Andersen is aware that this has to be repaired. It is very difficult to communicate with Renewal by Andersen. Part of the job is complete, and I still was not compensated for the monies I spent trying to repair THEIR problem that they created for six years. Im really tired of fighting with Renewal by Andersen, for six years now, and its all their fault. I just want the job completed.

My 16k door was installed in May 2023. Since then I have had countless problems with the lock. Each time they come fix it they make it worse. They were supposed to order another new lock in October. I engaged with Renewal by Andersen's sales person *********************** on February 7, 2023. Our purchase contract involved the full replacement of my historic home's 17 windows with exact replicas of the dual pane, prairie grid style windows. Total cost of the project was just $38,000.00. I engaged with Renewal's business partner Green *** to fund the transaction at a rate of ****% for payment and was approved the same day I entered the order.Renewal by Andersen's policy is to have an order entered within 7 days of receipt and to have a concierge person contact me once every two weeks, at least. None of this ever happened. In fact on day 61 of the process I contact the ********************'s ******************* to enquire about the hold up. I was shocked to find out nothing, zero, had even been started yet. I contacted Andersen Windows and spoke to *************************** who informed me they had, accidentally, sat on my order for all the 61 days. After this a ********************, the local operations, became involved. Once the order began to process I noticed a change almost immediately and was hopeful things would be better moving forward. This was still not the case.My 17 windows did not get installed until on or about the 15th of August '23. Our contract had actually expired by this time. I warned ***** and his team of the pending lapse of the contract. To no surprise at all, they did nothing. When the windows were installed several of them were missing their external grids, this then took months to fix because they kept messing up. Finally, and AFTER I have paid in full I find out today via a ********************* that they have a lien on my house completely unannounced to me. I am getting nothing but a hard time now from ********(t)? I have now also contacted their main office in hopes of making this terrible company just go away. They are the worst trades company I have ever engaged with.Business Response

I have spoken with ************ twice already, once before the complaint and again earlier today.
A brief overview of his job:
Sold on 2.7.23
Measured on 2.17.23
Start in draft status until 3.8.23
Deposit of $18,757 pulled
Moved to On Hold 3.9.23
This job was not reviewed correctly or put in the correct hold status, this job did get lost in the shuffle for a few weeks. When we realized this job was a history job and required a COA for the permit to be issued, we jumped on. Unfortunately, the COAs the customer provided the sales rep were 5 years old and expired.
We submitted the new COA App on 4.17.23
Approved COA on 5.8.23
Move to RTO 5.8.23
Product received 7.31.23
Installed 8.10.23
Reordered 4 sashes with corrected grille pattern on 8.16.23
Manufacturing error arrived with interior grilles + GBG (should have been Exterior and GBG)
Arrived wrong again from manufacturing.
Reordered exterior grilles only on 10.25.23
Material arrived 11.20.23
Installed arrived 11.21.23
Additional notes:
***************** was compensated $2,500.00 on 7.27.23 for the delays in getting his job to RTO
When it comes to the Termination of the customer Notice of Commencement, our standard practice is that we do not terminate the *** as they *** is only good for a year and will terminate itself after that.
We can assist customer with the Termination of the *** but it is on a case by case basis

on 5/09/2023 I signed a contract in good faith as the DPOA for my folks for their home with DBA: RENEWAL BY ANDERSEN OF FLORIDA Legal Name: *** ******** *** ********** *** **** ******* ***** ***** ** * ******** ** ***** ****** ************ * **** ************ * Customerservice@rba!a.com for the installation of 13 windows. I received one email telling me that in 2-3 weeks they would provide me with an installation date. That has not happened; I was never provided a date other than October or November. Additionally I did receive a voice message stating that the product was delayed. Now I was sold on the fact that they claimed to make all the windows in house locally. So I'm confused about what is going on. I have tried unsuccessfully to contact them via phone. And I've left a few messages on 10/17, 10/24 and 10/26. I paid half of the amount up front, and now I'm annoyed that they cannot be reached. This was not the company that was presented to me during the sales. I would like some action taken to assist.Business Response

I signed a contract on 1/3/23 for 3 new windows & 1 sliding glass door. I was told it would be 4-5 months for the project to be completed. Renewal told me all the windows would be installed on 5/31/23. The morning of 5/31/23, I was told my sliding glass door was lost in their own warehouse & wouldn't be able to be installed that day. On 6/1/23, I was told it was reordered & would be installed within 3-4 weeks. I followed up a month later, to be told that it wasn't ordered until 6/13 & the 3-4 week timeline was for an update, not for install. I asked them to just cancel the door, but they told me they couldn't & to refer to the contract, but the contract says they CAN cancel it at their discretion. I then had a customer service employee call me to ask ME if I had an update for HER on MY order. The door was "found" & installed on 7/13, but it was damaged. I sent photos of the damage & was told the service team would have the parts & repair it on 8/2. The service team came on 8/2 & said they don't have the parts and would have to come back. I asked the employee who told me they had the parts what they meant, & he sent an email & left a voicemail telling me he didn't know what he was talking about when he told me that. The service team came back on 9/14 to fix it, but left holes in the piece they replaced & didn't replace all of the damaged parts. They had to come on 9/28 to fill the holes & painted over them so the side of my sliding door looks like a child's finger painting project & is still partially damaged. A project that should have taken 5 months took 10 months. I requested a fair compensation for 1/4 of this project not being completed as promised & the many hours of work I've had to request off for many inspections/repairs & my request was denied. This project prevented me from selling my home & moving in the summer as I had planned at the beginning of the year. If they told me this would be my experience in the beginning, I would have chose another business.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I never rejected the compensation. I requested to speak to the person making the decisions on the compensation because the lady who was talking to me said she didn’t have control over what was being offered. I want an explanation of how such a small amount of $1,600 was offered when the sliding door that is currently installed (and is still damaged and has a paint job of a toddler’s finger painting project) was at least $4,000. I’ve requested to speak with someone else and followed up on my initial request twice, leaving three of my emails ignored by Renewal by Anderson and therefore, unable to be resolved.

Why choose a BBB Accredited Business?BBB Business Profiles may not be reproduced for sales or promotional purposes.
BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this business, please let the business know that you contacted BBB for a BBB Business Profile.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
