      On March 1 I visited my dentist (in network to Delta Dental PPO) for my checkup and cleaning. I got some x-rays, an exam, and a dental cleaning, all of which were covered under my plan. Ideal Dental of ********** is clearly listed on Delta's website as IN the PPO.Delta Dental subsequently refused to pay. I have also complained to my state insurance *****

      I am rejecting this response because: 

      "I did everything I was supposed to do.  I consulted the delta dental website and verified Ideal Dental of ********** as being in Delta's PPO.  I included with this complaint a search of their site showing ideal dental's address and literally hundreds of listed providers at the site.  The claim from delta dental shows "ideal dental of san ******* as the provider.  Now delta dental refuses to pay the claim based on an alleged conflict between the information they have on this dentist and what was provided in the claim.  I have already contacted my dentist about this and they have submitted a revised claim form.  Still delta dental refuses to pay a legitimate claim.  I am caught in the middle of this.  I did everything I was supposed to do.  From my standpoint this appears to be insurance fraud perpetrated by the insurance company.  They are refusing to pay a legitimate claim and there is no basis for this."

      I have already done as they asked.  I phoned Delta Dental of ********** (an approved PPO provider for Delta Dental) and spoke with the office manager two weeks ago.

      She stated a revised claim had been submitted.  Delta Dental is still refusing to pay a legitimate claim.  This is plain, simple fraud a la "The Rain Maker".

      Delta Dental's response is totally and completely unacceptable.  They need to pay the claim.

      Delta Dental provided dental health insurance to me throughout 2024, which I signed up for through the Marketplace. I canceled this policy during December 2024, when I moved out of Florida and the Marketplace changed my plan. After cancellation, Delta Dental continued to send me bills to pay the monthly premium. I called four times over the next two months and spoke to their ***resentatives confirming that this plan was already cancelled and to have the *** confirm the cancellation. In February 2025 I received a letter stating that they canceled my policy for non-payment, and I immediately called to confirm that it was already canceled in December. In March I received a second letter in the post stating the dental plan was canceled because they havent received my payments! Even though I ***eatedly confirmed through several phone conversations that the plan was canceled. I will now check my credit ***ort to make sure this was not wrongfully ***orted. Delta Dental needs to change the official record of my policy to state that I rightfully canceled the policy in good standing - not due to lack of payments.

You would have needed to contact the Florida Marketplace to do so, the only communication we have from you is in February advising that you moved to ******** and asked if this insurance was still okay to use.

      Marketplace clearly stated and confirmed that the plan was properly canceled in December 2024, which Delta Dental would have properly been notified of via normal Marketplace means. They continued to state that they do not usually provide additional confirmation after the fact and after the date it was canceled. I requested confirmation from them that I can send to you and am waiting on their response.  The agent at Marketplace said they will investigate if they can provide this further confirmation.

      Delta Dental is refusing to pay for my crowns despite sending my dentist a fax stating they were covered at 50%. I attached the eligibility and benefits info the dental office received via fax with a date and time stamp clearly marked. It shows my plan covers crowns at 50%, with a limitation for children up to 19. Nowhere does it say I lack major coverage or that this is a preventative-only plan. *****, from my dentists office, called Delta Dental and spoke to ******* (Ref# SF ***************) to ask why my crowns werent paid at 50% as indicated. ******* claimed I exceeded the age limit. I told her the eligibility info was misleadingeven to Sarahand asked how they expected me, as the patient, to understand their denial. I have an adult policy through **************, not a childs policyI am 54 years old. They should know this as they have my DOB. When ***** asked ******* to conference me in, she agreed, but as soon as ***** initiated the call, ******* transferred her to an automated survey. Im filing a complaint because I can't get anywhere with DD. How does this plan benefit me? It does NOT state this is a preventative-only plan. It does NOT state I lack crown or major coverage. Delta Dental plans typically state NOT A COVERED SERVICE, NA, or NO COVERAGE under MAJOR. If my crowns werent covered, why does it say Major 50% for D2740 (crown-porcelain/ceramic subst E40)? ***** has never encountered this issue with Delta Dental Premier in the four years Ive been with my dentist. My balance per my insurance is $1,724.50 because Delta Dental failed to pay the estimated 50% outlined in the plan they provided. My treatment decisions were based on their stated coverage. If they had faxed back saying my crowns werent covered, I wouldnt have had the procedure or would have gone to ****** for the work at a quarter of the cost. Delta Dental made a mistake and doesnt want to pay. I canceled my premiums at the end of 2024 and switched to another carrier.

      I have basic plus major delta dental plan. When I got a implant, they covered nothing! My plan is supposed to cover, but this company gave excuse after excuse to not cover my implant (non were valid). Very upset.

      Hello, I signed up with Delta Dental Insurance through ************** (after January 2025 and was to be effective Feb. 1, 2025. My member ID is ************. I paid the Delta first month premium of $8.70 on January 8, 2025 with my Mastercard. I cancelled my ************** Health Insurance plan and the Delta Dental plan on January 20, 2025. So Delta coverage has never gone into effect. So it has been a complete nightmare trying to get Delta Dental to refund my $8.70 payment. The Delta phone **** are nice, but are zero help with this issue. It is just the principle of it to me-they owe me my money and are not refunding me. Thank you to the BBB for your help.

      Hello, I received the refund check on 2-24-2025 (deposited to my bank same day) from Delta Dental so thank you to the BBB for your help.  Delta Dental-something needs to change there as it took over a month to get the refund check and was beyond ridiculous.  I have had other dental providers through ************** and they all have processed the refund 3-4 days after cancelling through ************** and goes back to my credit card (and not a paper check).  So hopefully the refund process will be changed there as its 2025, not 1985 and it shouldn't take over a month to receive the refund.  I am just glad I found out how Delta Dental operates as I will never buy coverage from them again and will make sure to share my experience with others.  Also, your Delta **** are nice, but most have zero clue how to check status of the refund and/or how to initiate it.  Just wanted to give Delta a nickel's worth of free advice.  Thank you again to the Atlanta BBB especially with the **** unofrtunately now being shut down.

      These are all of the reference numbers pertaining to my issue. SF2025020657976448 SF ***************** SF20241216566053552 We continue to receive checks that do not belong to us. The most recent check number (for a check that should be sent to the patient) is check #**********. This check was issued after we reached out to your organization with a termination of treatment date. All checks for this case (including prior to the termination of treatment date) should be sent to the patient it pertains too. We do not accept insurance checks on any kind. This provided such terrible experience for me and the patient to the point that they are no longer being treated at our office.

      This crown was done on 12/4/2024.  Thats over 2 months ago and the dental office submitted the information to Delta Dental close to that date and I also submitted the requested information after that to Delta Dental.  I think over two months to process this claim is excessive.  And now theyre asking for 7 to 10 more days.
