I keep getting calls from them and I don't even have loans or mortgages. They make is sound like I took out a loan and owe them money. I pulled my credit report and there was nothing. They are getting annoying and feels like a SCAM. A big RED FLAG asking for information. I even picked up and there is always a pause before someone respond.

I received a text from southpoint instead of a call.which I thought was a red flag. They texted thier name was Caesy. I looked thier information up and tried to call and was no one to talk to,just a roll call directory to spin you around the system without giving any names or connecting you with anyone.BIG RED FLAG ON THIS COMPANY.I WOULD CAUTION ANYONE NOT TO GIVE YOUR INFORMATION

Block these guys when they contact you. They have nothing to do with your loan. They can use legalese and corporate wording to make it sound better, but all theyre doing is buying your information from credit companies like ********** and descending on you like vultures trying to get a payday. Theyre vague when they message you for a reason. They call and start messaging as soon as possible to try and trick you into thinking they have something to do with the loan. If they really cared about just providing extra options and giving you the best value they would mention that in their initial messages and calls, not just being as vague and confusing as possible. If this company was worth anything they wouldnt have to have this sort of outreach.

I hope this message finds you well. My name is *****, and I am reaching out on behalf of SouthPoint Financial Services regarding your recent review on the Better Business Bureau website and your experience with our outreach. First and foremost, I want to sincerely apologize if our contact came across as intrusive or unwelcome. I fully understand your frustration with receiving a call soon after applying for a mortgage with another lender.
At SouthPoint Financial, our goal is to educate and provide potential homebuyers with all the options available to them, ensuring they secure the best possible deal for one of life's most significant purchases. However, it is never our intention to pressure or mislead anyone. Instead, we reach out early in the process to make sure individuals are fully informed of the options available, and that they can compare rates and services for the best fit.
I understand that this type of outreach can feel overwhelming, especially during such an important moment. Please know that we value transparency and are genuinely interested in helping, not confusing or misleading. If our messages felt vague, we sincerely apologize and will work on making our communication clearer moving forward.
We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you and clarify how we can assist with your mortgage needs, but if you prefer not to hear from us again, we respect your decision and will ensure no further contact.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, and I hope we can resolve your concerns. We wish you the best of luck in your home search and are always here to answer any questions you may have.

I have never, ever reached out to this company for financial services or advice. I ignored their several boring requests to text or talk. Finally, they crossed the red line and wrote, quote, "Are you still searching for someone to help you out?" To help me out of what??? Or are they tirelessly sweating to earn their paychecks out of my pocket?

Home buying is already a stressful process. We shouldn't also have to endure marketing outreach from mysterious companies we never heard of, on top of everything else. Especially where our credit information is concerned. I understand the nature of capitalism, however there needs to be some tact involved when reaching out to people who's information you purchased. Telling me that I REACHED OUT TO YOU, or that I inquired with your company, is a downright lie and a snake way to approach a cold lead situation. In such a high-risk procedure such as home buying, it almost leads to the potential that someone may have stolen my information and given it to your company. Which I know isn't the case, and it's far more likely that you don't know how to train your staff on cold-calling sales techniques. Either way, do better, and stop with the edgy sales tactics before someone ends up in a lawsuit.

I have never reached out to this company for financial services. While getting my credit checked by another company for a home loan, they reached out to me because "i received your inquiry about a potential mortgage pre-approval and would love to connect you with a senior loan officer."I understand that my information is bought and sold constantly, but reaching out to people who are already working with other other loan associations pretending like they reached out to you first is ***** as heck.If you can't get your own customers, stop trying to steal other people's. Downright embarrassing.

      Hello *****,

Thank you for expressing your concerns, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify our outreach process.
We understand that receiving unexpected communications can be frustrating, and we sincerely apologize if our approach caused any discomfort. Please know that, like us, other lenders *** also reach out to you during this period as they aim to provide competitive offers to assist with your mortgage needs. As our *********** Coordinator, *****, explained to you, we receive notification of this from our partnership with the ************************* who, as you mentioned, does notify other lenders like ourselves of whenever someone makes a mortgage related inquiry. The reason these notifications are made, is because you, as a buyer, are allowed a window of time after your initial application to shop around for the best overall deals on matters such as pre-approval amount, interest rates, etc.

At Southpoint Financial Services, our goal is not to infringe upon existing relationships but rather to offer additional options that *** benefit you. We were simply hoping to showcase what our team can offer in terms of mortgage solutions, as we aim to make sure our potential clients/ those who are on the journey to home ownership, are completely aware of all the available options and are fully educated on the entire process, which includes making sure that you are getting the best benefits for you!

We are happy to see that you've found a lender to work with, and we hope your experience with them has been smooth and rewarding. While it seems like we were not able to work with you at this time, we would still love to be considered for any future assistance that you *** need, such as refinancing.

If you have a moment, we kindly ask you to consider revising or removing your one-star review based on this clarification, as it is a shame for such a rating to reflect our business, when we unfortunately did not actually have the chance to interact with you outside of the initial message that you had received.
Once again, we appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience caused. If you ever reconsider exploring our services in the future, we would be delighted to assist you.

      Thank you,

I have never reached out to this company nor have any desire to do business with them. They have been steadily harassing me through text messages (none of which, have I responded to) to me try to sell me a mortgage. In their response to another review, they state that they purchase contact information from TransUnion. I assume that this is how they got my information. While this *** technically be legal, in my opinion, it is a shady business practice to obtain someone personal information without consent then proceed to harass them. It seems Southpoints answer to stop these texts is to reply with stop. While that *** work, there are other scammers out there that will harass you more once they get a response from you. You would think that an honest company would get the hint and stop their text barrage after the first week of sending multiple messages with no response, but that unfortunately is not the case with SouthPoint.

Hey ***, ************** here, Communications Specialist at SouthPoint Financial Services..

First and foremost, I want to express my sincere apologies for any inconvenience or frustration you may have experienced in receiving our text messages. I understand that unsolicited communications can be bothersome, and I want to assure you that we take your feedback seriously.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns, and I'd like to provide some clarification on our process to shed light on the situation. SouthPoint Financial Services, in partnership with TransUnion, does receive notifications when individuals express interest in mortgage-related inquiries. This is fairly common with other banks and lenders due to the fact that when making an initial application, folks are put in a brief window (typically 30 to 40 days) in which they are able to rate shop with other lenders, like ourselves, with the goal of finding the best offer for their future home. We aim to connect with potential clients and explore the possibility of assisting them with their mortgage needs. Given the aforementioned brief window, we do reach out consistently hoping to earn the attention and business of potential clients before that window is closed.

I assure you, we in no means aim to harass or frustrate the people that we reach out to, which is why the first message from us includes the option to opt out of our texts and removing yourself from our outreach list. With the number of scammers calling/texting/emailing/mailing/etc. ON TOP of outreaches from legitimate businesses such as ourselves, I understand that receiving communications from multiple sources can be overwhelming, and we genuinely apologize if our attempts to reach out have caused any frustration. Please be assured that our intention is to provide valuable information and explore how we can be of service to you.

I hope this response has provided some peace of mind and/or clarification. I do again apologize for your experience and if any further comments, concerns, or questions need to be addressed. Please contact me at ***************

I do not have any information on you based on this review other than your first name and email, however we only receive full name and phone number. I assume you have at this point opted out via text or reached out to a team member to remove you, but if not, you can email me directly and I will make sure you are removed from any further outreach.

If there is anything further we can do for you please do not hesitate to reach out.

      Thank you,

Started receiving text messages daily from "****" with this company saying I had requested information from them when I had never made such an inquiry. I responded that I had not asked for information but was still sent messages daily. They have illegally obtained my information somehow for the purposes of harassment and scamming.

Sir, we apologize for your experience with SouthPoint Financial Services which was disappointing to you. We are a mortgage lender outside of Altanta Ga. We purchase contact information through TransUnion legally and exceed all the standards for receiving and verifying against the National Do Not Call List. Our legal team works diligently to make sure our marketing is within compliance. You were texted through a CRM texting services. The very first text you received tells you how we received your information and to reply with Stop to opt out. We have the entire text thread and are reviewing it.The initial text you received:Hi G__ry. This is **** with SouthPoint Financial Services. I received your inquiry online about a potential mortgage and am eager to connect you with a senior loan officer who can answer your questions. May I ask you a question first via text before connecting you to your senior loan officer? If you wish to end this conversation, reply with "stop" to opt out.May 10, 2023, 11:41:19 AM You never comment stop or opt out and of the negative signaling words that would stop a CRM from communicating. When you did finally say something in a negative fashion thread was:I was never looking for information, i told you that days ago. May 14, 2023, 9:21:24 AM I understand. If your situation changes in the future and you need our services, please feel free to reach out. You can always reach us at ************, we would be more than happy to assist you. I hope you have a great rest of your day!May 14, 2023, 10:13:55 AM The text then backed away from the conversation and wished you a great day. Another company had pulled your credit and TransUnion then shared it. To stop prescreened offers through TransUnion visit: Consumer Privacy Rights | TransUnion This link will allow you to opt out of all offers steaming through TransUnion. With all the new technology and social media, I can understand you may be receiving texts you feel are unsolicited. Always remember to type "stop" or "opt out" and these automated CRM systems will stop communicating with you. I wish you had called in so we can speak over the phone and not through a BBB review. No employees here at the company have had the opportunity to speak with you to discuss the issue. I do assure you we are a legitimate company full of hard-working salespeople. In the mortgage industry right now, things are difficult. We are trying new ways for sales to communicate. We appreciate your feedback and hope you may see things differently. Please call if you would like further discussion.
