    We submit miss utility tickets daily for our job. Regularly, the ticket gets returned as "marked" when it is not. Our business then sends out a crew of multiple people to a job site, but we are unable to work because the yard has no utility marks. We lose hundreds of dollars each time this happens. Sometimes weekly, the yards are mis-marked causing cable lines to be damaged. Our crew has seen the Utiliquest worker take out his paint and just mark straight point to point without actually tracing the cable line, to which we then hit the line because it was then entirely mis-marked. We have had many times we had to submit multiple 3 hour notices and the ticket still doesn't get marked. (then delaying our work, and crew, costing us a lot of money)

    On March 15, 2024, a Utiliquest technician was assigned to a ticket for a neighboring address but entered my yard at ****************************************************************** without prior notification. During this time, my registered service animal, ***** a French Bulldog, went missing.********'s security footage later revealed the Utiliquest employee taking ****. The Fairfax ************************ conducted an investigation, leading to the employee's admission of the theft. **** was returned the following evening but exhibited signs of severe trauma and is no longer able to perform her duties as a service animal. This has been confirmed by our vet, which referred us to a behavior therapist for ****'s case, but that also requires a financial requirement.As a 100% Disabled Veteran, the emotional and physical toll of this incident has been significant. The stress triggered a flare, causing health deterioration and rendering me unable to work. Despite these severe impacts, Utiliquest has refused to provide any financial support for the damages caused by their employee.I am seeking: Reimbursement for veterinary and retraining costs Compensation for the emotional distress and loss of support from my service animal Assurance that Utiliquest will improve their employee vetting and notification processes to prevent similar incidents I have also filed complaints with the ********** of ******* ***** and the ********************* of Virginia (dLCV). I intend to raise public awareness about this issue to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
