I am filing this complaint against Georgias Own Credit Union for repeatedly furnishing inaccurate and inconsistent information to the major credit reporting agencies. Despite the account being closed in 2021, it continues to be reported monthly as a charge-off into 2025. The reported balances and delinquency statuses differ across Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion, and TransUnion fails to report any 90-day delinquencies while the others list over two years of such history. I submitted a certified dispute over ********************************** deletions have been made. These actions reflect negligent data reporting and failure to comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. I request the immediate removal of this account from all ********************** bureaus and confirmation of the correction.Business Response

I have been unable to access my online bank account with ******************************************************************** and I have not changed my login information. I have recieved no written notices of any changes or charges to my account. I called the credit union and they won't accept my online password and refuse to help me unless I give them a phone password. Its been years since I have called so I have no clue about the password they are referring to. They wont even tell me if it is a number or a word. They give me no other option to access my account. I live in ******** and can not go to the Georgia bank in *******. I can't login online, they don't send anything by written mail or email and they won't talk to me by phone. They refuse to help me. I have been a customer of this institution for 12 years, and I am extremely disappointed with their banking practices. Recently, I was charged $140 in overdraft fees for a $5 transaction due to a subscription I believed had been canceled. Prior to this, they charged me a $35 overdraft fee for a mere $0.32 overdraftan outrageous and excessive penalty.Their fee policies are unreasonable, and its clear they prioritize profits over customer care. As a result, they closed my accounts, which ultimately worked in my favor because I had already decided to stop banking with them. Given their predatory fee structures, Im surprised they havent faced legal action. I strongly advise others to consider alternative banking options that prioritize fairness and customer satisfaction.Business Response

On July 2nd about 2:00 someone took $858.00 from my GAs Own ACCT. It was 2 separate incidents. One for $454 and $404.00. If you see there is a text from GA Own asking did I approve I said no and they still let the money be released. I cant find the other text. I did a dispute they denied it stated I had something to do with it. Why the world would I scam myself.Business Response

I have called 3 different times to customer service. I spoke to 2 different Managers. Both Managers committed they would call me back after looking into why I had a charge off amount for 2 years ago I was never advise about, and I have 8 accounts with them. No Manager either have ever called back. This started last Wed 5 business days ago. On Monday I went down to the ***** and left my name and phone number for the Manager or someone else to call me. They never called back at all. Can a Senior Manager or VP please call me back so I don't have to file a complaint with banking ********** services please.Business Response

I filed a dispute on State Farm for my car and renters insurance through Georgias Own Credit Union on 9-23-24 because State Farm debited payment out of my checking account for the amount of $272.63 on 7-9-24, 8-7-24 and 9-9-24. The authorized amount was $236.23. My account was ************************ for the amount of $109.20 on 9-30-24. which was $36.40 for each month. On 10-28-24, 10-29-24 and 11-5-24 the amount was reversed back to State Farm because ************* through Georgias Own had requested that I submit proof within 7 days of 10-4-24. I submitted proof on 10-11-24 through email to ************************ and ************* said they didnt receive it and just dropped my claim. In November and December ************* refused to open up my case and told me to make a claim through Georgias Own. I called to reopen it in November and December but they just drop the claim after the call. Im requesting a refund in the amount of $109.20.Business Response

Georgia Own Credit Union cancelled my **** credit card just because I didnt make a purchase. Georgia Own Credit Union Needs to either restore my account or update my ********************** file that my account was closed due their ridiculous request I use the credit card by a certain date.Business Response

I paid my $5 deposit to open a second chance account here. they took the deposit i sent in the docs then nothing happened. I had questions about if i was elgible for any other accounts then all of a sudden my application may have been switched or a second app opened without my consent and that app was denied and i never got the original account nor a refund of my deposit. the original account needs to be opened as i jever requested to swap the accounts.Business Response

A fraud attempt was made with Georgias Own Credit Union using my information to apply for a loan in the amount of $2,500.00. I did not make this inquire and have contacted GOCU multiple times to get this matter resolved and removed as an inquiry. I have been given multiple different information/directions on how to resolve this matter and it still has not reached a resolution. My instructions were to file a police report and send the results with an email to GOCU. However, today **** would not confirm receipt of email and given me different directions and process to follow. I am not a member of this credit union, neither have I had any business dealings with them professionally or personally. I have made 10 attempts in filing this issue with the credit bureaus to have this inquiry removed and Equifax and ******** continues to state this information listed is accurate and it is not. This has been a nightmare and informative. Based on all of what I have experienced with this company, I NEVER want to do business or acquire any relationship with this company especially since I have not done so up to date. Hello,I have been a loyal member of Georgias Own Credit Union (GO) for over ten years and have always trusted the institution for its services. However, I am writing to express my shock and disappointment regarding an issue I encountered with a recent auto loan and the *** coverage I ************ June 2022, I took out an auto loan for a 2022 RAV 4 Hybrid, and as part of the loan, I purchased both *** protection and Member Protection Plus. Unfortunately, last month, I was rear-ended at a red light, resulting in my car being totaled. I subsequently filed a *** claim, only to have it denied. The reason for the denial was that *** coverage does not apply to loans with terms exceeding 84 months, and my loan term was 96 ********* is deeply troubling that Georgias Own Credit Union sold me coverage I was ineligible for. I spoke with a representative from ****/TruStage, who informed me that many banks and credit unions often sell coverage that customers are not eligible for. Additionally, she explained that loan officers input data into the system that would have flagged my loan as ineligible for *** coverage based on its term, so why would it be sold to me or written into my loan?I am extremely shocked and disappointed by this. I am also frustrated by the fact that I am now required to repay most of the *** coverage that I was never eligible to use and can't use. This situation feels unjust, and I strongly believe it reflects poorly on the institution.I kindly request to speak with a loan manager to address this matter and resolve the issue. I am seeking a fair resolution where Georgias Own Credit Union honors the protection I paid for.Thank you for your attention to this matter.
