On 9/17/2024, I emailed this workout anytime to cancel my membership as I have not used this service in over 2 years. I have been giving away $19.99 for months because I did not know how to cancel the service. I finally got an email to contact them. I requested to cancel my membership. They sent me an email back stating that I have to place a 30-day notice like I am requesting to leave an apartment or something. That is unnecessary. Then stated that I will be charge for that 30 day window. Not only did they charge me $39.99, a renewal fee, they also charge me $58.50 which included the 30 day $19.99 , a $19.50 service fee and a $19.99 late fee. I could not believe it! I called their customer service and threaten to sue them and possibly get a civil class action on this company for stealing people money. They offered to refund me my $19.50 and the late charge. They still keep the renewal fee and the 30 day fee. It should not take all this to cancel a membership. They also should have an automatic cancellation of the membership if the customer has not been active for several months. Is this a civil class action suit? If not it should be. They are stealing from hardworking Americans.Initial Complaint

I went to their website as instructed and cancelled my membership with Workout Anytime almost a year ago. Now I am getting calls from a collection agency for monthly subscription after this cancelation. I did not get an email confirming my cancelation however that I can reference. Now the collection agency will not answer their phone nor will the call me back after many messages left for them. I want my membership cancelled and I want the outstanding balance removed from my account. They will not let me try to cancel me membership online until the balance is paid, but I can't even pay the balance since they will not return my calls or answer when I call them. The ************** location will not assist in anyway either. This is a racket that I believes open them up legally for a class action suite if we others that are or have experienced this same situation. I want this resolved ASAP. Wish me luck.Initial Complaint

In July 2022 I had signed up under a promotion for gym membership. I went to gym location with my confirmation and spoke with an employee to get membership card and was told by the employ that my membership would not be active until I paid an additional amount of money which I was not paying even more when I signed up under promotional amount so I attempted to reach out to location manager and could never get in touch with anyone a month later I finally speak to a manager when they go trying to collect a payment that should not be there. According to the manager my membership had been active the entire time but I explained everything to him and requested to cancel the membership since I didn't even get to use my first month which was promo cost the whole reason I signed up and this was due to an employee lying to me about the membership. Now this business is ruining my credit with a collection account that I should not have to pay since I never once used the gym.Initial Complaint

My gym membership ended in 2019. I signed a non renew agreement. Meaning after the year is up, I didnt want to renew my membership. The gym knew I was moving states. I have continually been charged for years now. *** spoken to multiple people at the gym who said they would correct this issue with no resolve or effort to actually do so. My card is STILL being ran for monthly payments. The total theyve stolen from me now is around *******. I want my money returned/refunded or Ill be taking legal action. I will also be filing a complaint with the attorney general.Initial Complaint

I signed up for Workout Anytime in September. I was never once able to actually access the gym due to staff NEVER once working poster business hours to get my account set up. I called to cancel the account, they said cancel. Well, I kept getting emails saying that I owed money. Every time I would call, I was confirmed my account was cancelled. Well, they have now sent me to collections despite my account being cancelled.Im expected to pay for a gym I could never access and now my credit is messed up.Initial Complaint

I got on a month to month deal they had going on may 2021. Shortly after my work schedule in a steel factory increased greatly to the point I never got to use it. So, a couple months in of forgetting I even had it I called to cancel. I was told I would receive a cancelation email. I would never get any emails. I tried this several times over the last year with same results. I called corporate, got a call center overseas and they said the club can cancel and they will send me an email with the link. Again, never got it. Still being charged. Finally today I get a girl at the club (manager) who verified I never scanned my card in except for the day it was activated. She was nice enough to read the link off to me and I was finally able to get it canceled. Not only do they not issue refunds but I HAD TO PAY FOR ANOTHER MONTH IN ORDER TO PROCESS THE CANCELATION!!This is designed to give you such a hard run around to cancel that u keep forgetting about it so someone could get their commission or whatever. If it had been canceled right away, I would have been fine but I paid for a year waiting for this email that STILL never came. Working 12 hrs a day in a steel factory you can't keep harping on something that should have been done right away. Half the time we don't know what day it is and it seemed like that was taken advantage of after i told themin order to keep getting the fees. All I want is a refund of everything. I would say minus the first fee but the fact that I have to go this route now due to being taken advantage of, I will call this resolved with a FULL refund. To any readers, if you want to cancel than ask for the link and detailed instructions to be read to you and don't get off that phone until you confirm and pay for another month. That way you KNOW it was done and don't trust to get any emails with links. I don't know if it was just the club doing this or if it is a company wide secret to keep fees flowing in but you need to do it this way to be sure.Initial Complaint

Workout Anytime in *****, **** continues billing my card account after I cancelled the membership and was told I would not be billed anymore. My wife had a membership at this gym but because of health problems I cancelled it in September 2021. I called and talked to a man who assured me it was cancelled and I would not be billed any longer. Since then they have charged me $10.73 every month and a larger charge of $41.93 around February 2022. I filed disputes with my credit card company but they turned them all down because Workout Anytime send them the original membership papers saying they had the right to charge me. They have not sent me any kind of papers showing I cancelled this even after I have talked to them several times. This place is scamming people by continuing to charge peoples accounts after the memberships have been cancelled.
