I was unfairly charged an estimate fee that the merchant's website states should be free. On June 19, I called the merchant to get an estimate for window glass replacement. Over the phone, they informed me there would be a $125 charge for the quote. Believing this to be their policy, I agreed to pay.A month later, I still had not received the quote. When I called the merchant, they said they don't email quotes and that I was supposed to call them to get it. They claimed to have called me several times, but I never received any calls according to my phone history. They reiterated that they only provide quotes over the phone, which I find highly unusual and unprofessional.When I checked their website, I was surprised to see that they advertise free estimates. This raises the question of why I was charged while other customers receive free quotes. This feels like unfair treatment. Additionally, I never received the estimate I paid for. When I asked for a refund, they refused and blamed me for not calling them for the estimate result for a month.If they had told me that the quote would be free for others but not for me, I would never have agreed to pay. If they didn't want to work with me, they should have refused service rather than treating me differently from other customers. This business demonstrates poor practices and discrimination.
