1 starNorthside customer service and their bookkeeping **** are shameful. They have been billing me for $90.00 that I have already paid. All phone calls to remedy this matter were futile. They will not even consider that they could be in error. This led my husband to write them, explaining the details and enclosing copies of proof, as well as the cancelled check. In that letter he stated that if Northside still will not correct their bookkeeping error that we request to meet with them in person to figure this out. We have the cancelled check proving the money was paid by us. We have notification from my supplemental provider that they paid the money to Northside as well. So Northside has been paid twice.I got no response concerning my request at all. Until 2 days ago when I received notice to collect from a collection ********* Northside so unwilling to meet with a customer in person who was double billed that they would rather just send it on to collections without considering our evidence? Apparently so.Review fromElizabeth Bailey C

1 starAwful customer service- baby born last January and they billed her as Bind. I work for UHG and my wife and I, and baby girl have been on insurance the whole time. They billed it wrong and then by June 2023, sent it to collections even though we never missed a payment on an erroneous bill! ********. Our max out of pocket is $6k per individual and this bill even exceeds that. Surest has no record of it so you know the billing department at Northside is not good at what they do. Now we have to sort out their mistake and get them to stop having collectors ding credit ratings due to their issues. **************** was not helpful as we called multiple times and now the bill has switched collectors and is still active in April of 2024. This is really sad service.Review fromChau H

1 starAs Im working with the insurance to resolve issues, I notified northside and they said they will put my account on hold. If they dont hear back from me or insurance they will resume calling or mail me finalized bill. Then it would go to collection if still not paid but Ofcourse my ******************* went to collection as the account is on hold. Now I have to clean up the consequences Does anybody know how to report this behavior? Seriously HorribleReview fromMichael W

1 starThis places billing practices are nearly criminal. We delivered our baby in August. As we are discharging they call our room and ask us to pay over $3k before we leave. I question how can they know how much we owe them when it hasnt been filed with insurance - they advised us they have a very sophisticated system that utilizes our insurance details to determine the out of pocket for us and that we must pay before we leave but it helps avoid surprise bills later. So we paid. In September we received another bill for nearly $600. We have called and spoken with multiple people trying to understand why we should pay this and if they were just going to bill us after filing with insurance then what was the purpose of forcing us to pay while we were there. The last person we spoke to was the billing manager and he just said its not their problem, thats how much it costs, etc he said that there is a form that states its an estimate that we signed and he will send it to us we informed him this was all done over the phone while we were being discharged so how could we have signed something. I have families with many worse issues than this with their billing department. This place needs to be investigated for unethical practices. To be fair, we really like our nurses, doctors, etc but the billing department ruins this hospital.Review fromKat M

1 starThe day we went on for my procedure they had us go into.billing first. They said they would.need the deductible right away. We were taken back by this as I had never had a medical facility do something like this because typically insurance is billed and then parent arrangents are made. When I said I couldn't pay so therefore We would need to see about having the procedure done elsewhere. The Rep.said oh don't worry we csn ake parent arrangents. We then get a call from another Rep ******** after we received our first bill and they wanted the full payment. Again, we told them we need to set up a payment plan and they said okay. You can pay a 1/3. We explained we couldn't afford that and told *** what we could pay. We were then told that would be fine. He would notate our account. So for 4 months on or before the 17th we have been making payments. We go to make the payment this month and it has a zero balance. So we call because we thought there was a mistake. And they tell us they sent it to collections! When I asked her to review the notes where we set up payments and she said there were no notes. These people are deceptive in their billing practices and I am filing complaint with the State Attorney's office of Consumer Affairs so there is a record with the State of their sleazy practices. I'm also consulting an Atty today as I have excellent credit and this can adversly effect it.Review fromChristy E

1 starIn serious decline. Do NOT let them treat you in any way. Unless you are able to oversee each and every decision and are comfortable confronting and offering the appropriate path, stay away. Go to Piedmont or St ******* (*****) across the street. Doctors are mostly the same everywhere but doctors are only as good as their infrastructure- Northsides is in serious turmoil.Review fromJessica B

1 starMy husband had sinus surgery in January of 2023. We were told that in order to receive treatment we would have to pay our full deductible up front. We were able to only pay 1/3 of our deductible. Now, after insurance has paid Northside Hospital, we have an overpayment of the 1/3 of our deductible and Northside is not refunding us our money. I have called multiple times and have received the run-around from several representatives. I was told once the money posts from insurance that we would get an automatic refund to the original payment method. Now I am being told that a check will be automatically sent out to us after the insurance money posted. Neither of those things has happened and now no one there will give me a straight answer on when we will get our own money back. They are so quick to take it but will not return it to you if you have overpaid. I called again and I was told that we have to "qualify" for a refund, which is absurd because our account shows that we have overpaid and we are owed that money back. I am going to continue to call them every single day to demand my money back, but I have the feeling that we will never see this money. The Northside Business Office is terrible to work with. They do not care in the slightest about giving you your own money back if you have overpaid. They are dragging this out with the hopes that we will just relent and forget about the money and stop calling and demanding it refunded to us. I will not let this go and I will continue to call every day if I have to.Review fromBobbie M
