1 starGas South has ridiculous AGL FEES, as well as customer service fees!!! And on top of that they have very little of anything as far as discounts to events- Where as Georgia Gas Light has many discounted tickets as well as Delta Airline points JUST FOR PAYING YOUR BILL EACH MONTH !! Gas South is the most expensive gas company with very little to offer their customers- I rate them a ZERO !!!Review fromLisa B

1 starMy husband and I recently moved and brought a new home. I call gas south to set up my new home. My bill is nearly approximately ****** I call and am told oh my therm rate expired, and went from 69 cents to 2.99 per therm. I complain and get no where. Mind you I just started service for a second home with them shame on me! Then I get another bill ****** now the bill is ****** and this time the therm rate is 2.05 per therm. Ive been with gas south for 5 years. Now I feel bullied and stuck with a company I no longer trust! I called an renewed my service twice, the calls state they are recorded so I guess off to court we go. The trauma!!!Review fromSonja M

1 starI am absolutely floored by Gas South's gouging variable rate plans. I have always been on the lowest plan and it is appalling that they have cheaper options but if you forget to sign up for a plan, they automatically transfer you to their variable rate plan. INSTEAD OF LEAVING YOU ENROLLED IN THE LOWEST RATE PLAN! I have purposely not run my heat at high temps to conserve, and my husband always freezes in his home as a result! Yet, my bill was $500+ for one month! No way was usage that astronomical -- the rate was! It went from ~$.65 to ~$1.99!!!! That is punitive and it is wrong. Why NOT keep customers in the current/low-cost plan, especially if they're enrolled in auto-pay (which is how they can easily slip these astronomical charges on you!) and always paying on time, instead of requiring that they reenroll in a plan?? This is a sneaky practice. It's punitive. And it's wrong. And the next month's billing is likely to be a repeat (or even higher). This is an abomination and it's wrong. Way to take advantage of your customers, **********************. In this economy, you should do more to help, not HURT consumers.Review fromKudjo T

1 starI've been using this company for 4 years leading up to this point and never had an issue with them until this last billing cycle when I discovered that the charges ballooned to over $600 almost double what I normally pay around this year. I thought no way this could be right and after reviewing previous bills, I found that the meter reading for this bill was abnormally higher than usual. What was even more surprising to me was my power bill was no where close to what I would usually see during these winter months so that made me even more apprehensive about the current charges. Because of this I called the company to dispute the bill. They gave excuse after excuse with the *** even telling me what I have in my house like I haven't lived here for over 10 years! Despite all the excuses, I maintained that something is out of the ordinary about the reading and they said on there end that the reading were correct, but mind you, this is a remote reading. I demanded someone come out to make sure of this. They put me on hold to reach out to the Atlanta Gas Light company about my concerns and I was given the same excuse. I let them know it wasn't acceptable but they basically told me I could either contact Atlanta Gas Light company or get a 3rd party to come out to look at it. When trying to contact Atlanta Gas Light, it was clear they don't handle any sort of billing disputes only issues like gas leaks. The other thing that seemed very suspect to me was the fact that they were basically threatening to disconnect the gas if I didn't pay the bill. Normally, I would be given a ***** period that would allow me to forgo paying until next month. I've paid the money because it's winter and the house is far more comfortable when using the A/C versus using electric heaters but I'm very upset that they debunked my concerns and are willing to do the bear minimum while taking more money than they ever have from me in the the process. It doesn't sit well at all!Review fromKristopher D

1 starMy service was disconnected before the disconnect date. They prey on minority neighborhoods. I switched from ******* gas south and never once had been disconnected. I would never recommend gas south. I was only 2 days behind and left without natural gas. Do not use this subsidiary company for service. Poor customer service and scamReview fromRobin N

1 starI had my gas disconnected and paid the same day the bill was lost in the mail. This company is punishing me for this by not reconnecting the gas for 7 days this means that I can not shower or cook. I can not afford to eat out for 7 days I have kids and an 78 year old living with **** have read the Georgia law and it states that the company has 24 hours to reconnect the gas, here is the kicker Atlanta gas is a the on who owns all the gas a monopoly, and "they" are the ones who have to turn it back on I told them I would pay for a privet tec to come and check the pilot lights but it must be one of theirs. I did not know that I was living in a third world country where it would take 7 days to reconnect the gas. They have people to lock the meter but no one to unlock it. This is a joke and a halfReview fromAsha B

1 starAn employee of this company has come to my home today(08.12.2024) and disconnected my gas. There is was not a disconnection notice of any kind. I called the company and they also dont have a record of this person coming out and said they didnt send him. They also mentioned that they will look into this. Which is weird.. Honestly, it made a big inconvenience for my family and I. Im very upset, but what can I do except wait 1-4 hours for reconnectionReview fromLeonelle P

1 starI have been requesting my service to be turned off since May. I don't know if the cs reps get some kind of commission for retention or what but every call I make requesting my service stopped the reps go into a long spiel. I explain I have a gas leak and do not want service because my gas is off. They continue to give me the run around. I just got another bill after I spoke with a "supervisor" last month who I had repeat back to me that I want to discontinue service. She said for whatever reason she needed to call me back..promised a set time but of course did not call back at that time. What is so difficult to understand. I don't get the scam they are running. I am requesting my recorded calls and seeking legal avenues to resolve. This is harassment and abusive. I don't have the time to be on the phone with each rep telling me something different and no one simply turning off the service. Why am I getting billed when I haven't has any usage since May and i have verbally and in writing requested time and time again the service be turned off.Review fromTeera C

1 starI live alone since the passing of my son 07/23 I have upstairs and downstairs I keep my thermostat on 72 when temperature are 30s never any higher, I will wear sweaters if Im cold. Even before my son died we had no visitors after hes gone during 11/29 through 12/29 gas south billed me $195.84 this bill in my own estimation reflects a time when ppl are cooking and celebrating that I did none of that bc I was and still trying to mourn his loss. I was told several things by a rep 1 it was from a reading by gas south employee, when I explained no way bc I have security that show on those dates no one came on my property or it would be in the history, then ******* of GS says the reading was done by A& I but, still I didnt agree and GS rep stated bc its just me bc the more ppl in hh will cause the heater not to work so hard. Im over charged I suspect even when my son was alive to pay half we were being overcharged but. now its just me and I dont cook didnt do any cooking during the time frame of this bill I just sat alone did none of the things ppl do during holidays no company no cooking no turning the heat up over 72.
