I retained Harts & Associates to represent me in a personal injury claim following an accident in August 2023. Initially, they were highly responsive in gathering necessary information, communicating with the insurance company, and arranging my physical therapy. However, once my physical therapy was completedover a year agocommunication became extremely difficult.Since then, I have repeatedly contacted their office for updates regarding my settlement. Each time, I am given vague responses or told that someone will call me back, yet no one ever does. I was informed that my settlement amount had been determined, and I believe the insurance company has already paid the firm. However, despite more than a year of follow-ups, I continue to be told that Mr. **** needs to schedule an appointment with me before I can receive my check. This appointment has yet to be scheduled, and I have never previously been required to come in for paperwork, as everything was handled electronically.This delay is both unreasonable and unprofessional. I have worked with personal injury attorneys in the past, and I have never experienced such a prolonged and unexplained delay in receiving my settlement. I am deeply concerned about the handling of my case and the integrity of this law firm. At this point, I have no choice but to escalate my complaint to the BBB, as I strongly believe something unethical may be taking place.Business Response

I was in an accident on the 1/17/2024. I was contacted two weeks later by ***** ********* ay the office in regards to hiring a personal injury attorney. While I was not looking for one, I allowed them to take my case because initially the communication was great. I sent all paperwork, and pictures as requested and insurance information I had from the other party. After the initial contact, I would not hear again from the office until 7/8/2024 stating they had reached settlement with the at fault party and paperwork would be sent to sign. In all this time, my car stop had yet to be repaired and the other insurance refused to talk to me due to having an attorney. When attempting to reach out to the office, I was continuously told the attorney was not in office and would return the phone calls. My call was only returned one time with the promise of calling with additional information as Mr. ********* was unaware of the current state of my case. No call was ever made with information. I started receiving phone call about 2 months ago from a **** and Associates saying they were trying to serve me. When I called back the man ***** was very rude, would not give me complete information about the supposed debt he was trying to collect on. My car accident occurred on November 1, 2021. I promptly provided all necessary documentation, including insurance details, photos of the accident, discharge information, and attended all chiropractor appointments as scheduled. This incident significantly impacted my family.I was notified by the opposing party's insurance company that the Hart law firm received the settlement check on December 28, 2022. Despite reaching out to ******************* via email on January 17, 2023, inquiring about the status of my settlement, I received no response. Over the course of a year, I persistently called their office, only to be told they were either unavailable due to lunch breaks or would return my call, which never happened. There has been a complete lack of communication regarding the status of my case.Currently, I am being shuffled between different attorneys within the firm, encountering false promises and canceled appointments for picking up my settlement check. ***** assured me the check was ready for collection, but now he is unreachable, either on lunch break or only allowing voicemail messages. My case has been grossly neglected, and I am exhausted by the false assurances.Adding to my frustration, I have received a final notice from my chiropractor regarding outstanding payments, which will soon impact my credit score. The lawyers I entrusted with my case have failed to fulfill their responsibilities, leaving me in a precarious financial situation.As a client, I feel disregarded and disrespected, as if my case holds no significance. I have reached my limit and demand closure of my case. I refuse to engage with this company any further and will escalate this matter if necessary to settle the outstanding bills on my own. I was contact today ( 02/27/2024) by a *******************. She left a voicemail stating that she was contacting me from Hart& Associates regarding a debt that was now being pursued legally. I called back and spoke with her and asked the basic questions: who is the creditor, the amount of "debt: owed and time frame. She advised that the creditor was ************ Hospital( Well star) for services rendered 04/17/2017 for the amount of $4,436.50. I advised that i at not time had an treatment at the facility as it is 3 hours from where i was living at the time and wouldn't bypass a multitude of other hospitals for care to travel 3 hours away. I received a call from **** and Associates yesterday. They were calling to see if I would be home at 2:00 pm that a processor would be serving paperwork. I asked what this was regarding. They went on to say it was a medical bill from Lakeway Regional from 2013 and the doctor was ***** *******. I do not recall nor have I heard anything about this doctor. I was told they have sent multiple letters regarding this matter. I have not received anything. I questioned the charges her name was *************************. She said it started out at a little over $2k and if I dispute it and go to court it would be over $5k. She said do you agree to pay it. I said no, I have know idea what this if for. I later got a call from a processor wanting to deliver this. This is the first communication I have had and do not know what this if for. Is it a scam. They had a lot of my information including cell number. I am stressing out she said they could put a levy on my bank account or garnish my check. I was in a car accident on 11/27/2023. I was reach a few days later by a guy named Clearance. He mentioned he represented the **** and Associates. He gave me some documents to read and sign. I was asked to go to AICA orthopedic and get some therapy from car accident. I was in therapy till February. I called and spoke with *************************, she was handling my case. Her communication was very bad. For months I was told by ***** ************ will resolve my case. Most of the time I never received a call back. Sometimes I would get *********** caught COVID or *********** dad caught COVID or ************ had to go to ************** or out of town somewhere. Finally I reached out to my insurance to see if a settlement check had been disbursed. My insurance disbursed a check back in February 2023 and its December and I keep getting the same excuses, COVID, dad sick, out of town, on vacation and or ************ will give you a call back. I called AICA orthopedics and I spoke to the manager in the billing department. He told he never received a call or check from the **** and Associates and they left multiple messages for **** and Associates. In fact they are ready to settle and they reduce the settlement amount as predicted according to preliminary documents. I have been communicating with ***************** and still same story. This firm is giving me Scammer vibe. A bunch of complaints and they are all similar. Folks just want their money. The organization should not exist. It seems like they are taking advantage of people. There are some great injury practice firms and this aint one of them. This is a time not to be playing around with people time and money. I still have not received a check that has already been disbursed. AICA still have not received their portion. Looks like a scam to me.Business Response

On May 13, 2023 Me and my brother were in an accident we didnt cause. The Hart law firm contacted ** on May 17th. ******** a worker for the law firm met up with my brother and told him he could sign the contract for me without me being present or without my permission because we were in the same car. This is a form of forgery! We received letters in the mail saying the case has been settled and that the doctors hasnt even been paid. We were not at fault for the accident. Everytime we call the **** and associates law firm they either say our lawyer isnt available or he is covid and this has been for the past 5 months. Its been months since we received these papers and has been even longer since the law firm has contacted either one of us. This is by far the most dirty and corrupted law firm in georgia lying to us and abusing their power! ***************** has been over our case and I havent heard back from them since June 7th. They took our money from the case for themselves and didnt even have the decency to pay the orthopedic doctors they sent us too or US!! They contacted my brother October 28, 2023 and apologized for not getting in contact with us and they would contact him next week because again his paralegal was sick giving us the same run around. On November 9, 2023 the contacted him once more and gave us the same run around that ***************** was again sick. They dont care about their clients at all and are willing to risk our credit for what reason besides selfishness.Business Response

These ppl are unprofessional, dont return phone calls. Always unavailable. When you do speak to someone, *****************, is out of the office or unavailable. ***************** tells you to give him a time and when he will contact you but he never followed through unless you repeatedly call him. He will email you with a apology letter but doesnt follow through on his word. Run run run from this firm. My husband and I was on the same case and he got his settlement after months of being on their backs. And they brought both of us into the office without my side being settled. And their offices called me to confirm MY appointment and I have yet to receive my settlement. Then we did everything electronically, signed paperwork, and was assured that my check would be mailed out to me. Its been 6 weeks now. I been notifying them for weks that I havent received it. And now Im being told that the check was mailed and the status of the check has to be investigated. Just put a stop payment on the check and certify another!!! BaBusiness Response
