On October 30th my 2017 ***** CX-5 was towed by A Tow. I picked up my vehicle on November 4 and upon me receiving my vehicle it was completely dead. Once I got it jumped, I began to drive and heard loud popping noises from the bottom of my car. Before I could make it out the drive way my suv began to jolt then cuts off completely. One of the employees told me my battery might be bad so I went to replace it, but it did not fix the problem. I reported that my vehicle was not having this issue prior and I requested to speak with someone from claims. They gave me an email but no one responded. So I began to call around, Then finally got in touch with Mr ****** ******. After giving me the run around all November. I Physically drove to his location after being told he wasnt in the office to discover that he has been there and ignoring me purposely. He then asks me to get an estimate, send it to him then h*** begin the process to my claim. My differential was cracked in half and my whole rear end has to be replaced. The estimate for that came up to around $4000. I sent him the estimate and pictures of the damages. On 12-6 he sent me an email stating that he was finalizing my claim. On *****, I sent an follow up email but didnt receive no response. On Christmas Eve he responds saying that they are in the process of my claim and by the following week I can come pick up a check. I responded back asking for a claim number and if the check will cover the expenses of a rental while my vehicle is being worked on and also all the money Ive spent just to get back and worth to work and I havent heard anything from them since.Initial Complaint

On Dec 7 2024 this company did improperly towed my vehicle causing damage to my front bumper on passenger side my tire rim and my rear bumper and rear hood. They claim to have a complaint process but this is false I filed a claim provided pics and they are being very dishonest on all fronts re the damages my car DID NOT have these damages until they touched my car. I ask them to provide TIME STAMPED PICTURES FROM BEFORE my car was touched by them they claim they take photos before a tow they have not and stopped commicating with me to resolve . We are talking about ******* in damages. My suspension was also damaged from the improper tow for my car type. It was on private property and should not have been towed bc I have a decal. I paid ****** to get car out of tow.Initial Complaint

My vehicle was towed yesterday 12/31/2024 due to cutting off in the middle of the road . Atl pd was involved and was the ones to call this trash of a company . I spoke with the officer via phone and advised him that I have roadside assistance and they are on the way to tow my vehicle home and I dont need them UNLESS , they can move the vehicle not even 10 feet into the gas station so its not blocking traffic. The officer told me if his company comes before my company I can try to negotiate with them and see if they can move it or just help my mother who works for ****************************, who was driving the car push the **** car out the road until I and the tow company arrived. Mind you , I live in ************ and it takes me about 35 mins to travel to ******************** in Atlanta. Some tow truck driver arrives , didnt give a name no nothing was being rude . He told my mother that if he touches the car and just to push it out the road or tow it into the gas station I would have to give him $220 , I then proceeded to speak to him via phone and tell him to not to touch the car , I already paid my roadside to tow the vehicle home , I was not willing to pay him that amount just to move the car not even 10ft. He states Im not about to lose my job for nobody and hooks my vehicle up to his truck and takes off and leaves my mother stranded on the side of the road . I call A tow to speak with a supervisor and explain the situation , instead of them letting me speak with a supervisor they wanna relay message and say if the police calls us we have no choice but to tow it and proceed to be rude, Theyre Preying on the misfortune of patrons and employing incompetent and discourteous It was impounded due to incompetence of the Officer and the tow truck driver . I paid them ****** plus a 8 service fee charge just to get my vehicle out that wasnt even there for an hour. I want my money back because I told them not to touch my car and I was on the way and so was my roadside .Initial Complaint

On August 22, 2024 the company A Tow Atlanta *** towed my car to their ********** location. A little over a week later I went to pick my car up & it cost me $500 to get it out. Once I paid & got to check out my car, I noticed there was damage on my bumper that wasnt there before tow. I took 3 videos before & after the tow then I contacted their offices & even got in touch with their head of claims however, even he has not responded to ANY of my concerns about THEIR mistakes. As most people in *******, I do not have the financial luxury to just give money away or have my property damaged & not be compensated for it considering how most of Americans are already struggling! This is more than frustrating but reporting it is my last option before having to take further legal action.Initial Complaint

On 8/30/2024 my 1999 Dodge Dakota truck was towed to A-Tows impound lot from Seaboard Ave/ ********************* in Atlanta. When I went to retrieve my vehicle on 9/2/2024. The vehicle was sitting in their impound lot damaged, with the front bumper ripped off and sitting on the ground. They showed me pictures of my vehicle before it being towed with no damage, and indicated that it was damaged somehow while in their possession and on their property. They stated that no cameras captured the damage and they were unsure how it was damaged while in their possession. I filed a claim online with A-Tow and later got an estimate for the damage which was for $1043.07.Initial Complaint

Sunday morning, April 14, 2024, I was involved in a serious car accident on ************* in Atlanta. My vehicles roadside system contacted the police and other emergency services and a tow truck. The police officer and I informed the tow truck driver that the tow truck from my vehicles roadside assistance was coming to move my vehicle. The tow truck driver stated that he could just move my vehicle to the entrance of the parking lot ( which is a distance of about five feet) then leave it there for the tow truck driver from roadside assistance. However when the tow truck driver got to the spot where he was supposed to leave my car, he then stated that the only way I could get my vehicle off of his truck was to pay him $100 in cash.I reminded him of our conversation which was less than five minutes earlier but he refused to release my vehicle if I didnt give him $100 in cash. The security guard from the building where the accident occurred escorted me inside to use their ATM.The security guard and the Police officer witnessed the entire incident. Please advise as to what steps I need to take to get my $100 back.Initial Complaint

My car was towed. The tow truck driver caused damage to my bumper by lifting the car by the rear end. When the company took my car the front end was dragged causing the front bumper to come off my bottom fog lights are missing the wires connected to the fog lights were destroyed my fender liners were snatched from their proper places causing structural damage to the whole front end of the car. I contacted the company and was told that they are not liable because they picked the car up from the rear and not the front which proves my point in them being the cause of the damage done to my car. The representative stated that damage was already done to the car before they got there, which was a false statement. The front end was dragged and caused ******** US dollars to my car I took pictures and got a estimate on the costInitial Complaint

I went thru a public online auction that A-Tow had for a vehicle. After I purchased the vehicle I was told that the vehicle is a Derelict vehicle and unable to be titled. I have had the vehicle inspected and there is no major issue with the vehicle. A-Tow sold the vehicle and never put out a public notice for sale and according to Motor Vehicles Derelict vehicles are only to be sold for parts and are not eligible to be sold to the ********* was unable to find any info about derelict vehicles and the difference between that and an abandoned vehicle. I thought I was purchasing an abandoned vehicle and that was the reason why it was available for public sale. This is very misleading and frustrating because I now have a car that works perfectly fine and I am unable to do anything with it.Business Response

Hello,
The derelict designation was posted and the public was notified. We are more than willing to purchase the vehicle back if the condition of the vehicle is exactly as provided to you. Please specify what vehicle was purchased and at which auction.

I am rejecting this response because: I had to pay to have the vehicle towed and have a key cut for the car. I want to know if that will be included in purchasing the vehicle back. I have the receipts for both.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:the vin is *****************
I purchased this vehicle with the intent to drive the vehicle and that it had the ability to be registered. There was not a clear understanding on the website or when I arrived to retrieve the vehicle that the vehicle was sold for parts only. I incurred cost for towing, having the key replaced and purchasing a new battery. I included photos of the receipts of those charges and I am requesting that A-tow resolve the issue by purchasing the vehicle back for the sale price plus those charges. The total amount was $1294.55
Sincerely,

On Tuesday, December 12, 2023, around 4pm I tried contacting A Tow to release my car from impound. I was on hold for over 90 minutes before the phone abruptly disconnected. Since then, I have been trying to contact A Tow to no avail until today, December 16, 2023. I believe they are operating in a predatory manner due to the fact that they charge a daily rate for cars to be impounded on their lot. Their blatant disregard and purposeful lack of communication has caused me to not only be without my vehicle for the week, but also multiple days to rack up a hefty fine to be paid to them. Even after I finally got in contact with them today, they said that they don't have access to the fax machine number listed on their website, and that my documents had to be submitted via email. But there is no email address listed on the website. Furthermore, they stated that the documents must be sent directly from my insurance company, which they were, but my insurance company faxed them to the number listed on the A Tow website and received a delivery confirmation. However, A Tow continually states that they don't have access to their fax machine. Further perpetuating the heinous and predatory practices of forcing my vehicle to be kept on their lot for yet another day. This issue should have been resolved on Tuesday when I first called.Initial Complaint

My car was towed due to being too close to a fire hydrant. When I went to pick up car I notice damage to the front the agent took photos and advised that I had paid and could not leave car since they had been paid. Also I would have to file a claim via email with their company. I have sent several emails to ggibson, cbell, and ****** and have called multiple times only to be told someone will get back to me or no one is available as of December 2 my latest attempt to get this resolved has meet with NO help. This has been since October. This company acts as if they are above the law and are immune to resolving issues they caused.
