My wife ******* brought our 2008 Saturn Vue in to Aamco in ********, ** for transmission issues on Monday the 5th of December 2022. Our symptoms were that the car seemed stuck in first gear and couldn't shift out. After bringing it to Autozone, they said that the error code on the car read that a Solenoid was blown. We relayed this information to Aamco on the day we brought it in. They phoned me the next day (Tuesday the 6th) and told me that they had diagnosed the problem (which involved several complicated issues involving the transmission). I followed up with questions, ensuring that their diagnosis would indeed solve the shifting out of first issue. They reassured me that they had discovered the problem. They quoted me a price of $3789.18. This is a large amount of money for us, but we had little choice. We picked up the vehicle Thursday after receiving a call from Aamco that is was ready. I asked if they had test driven the vehicle to ensure it was ready (We had a trip the next day.) They reassured me that it was tested, fixed, and safe to drive. We drove to natural bridge the next day (Friday the 9th) and spent the night in a cabin with my family for an early Christmas. The next day, we took the vehicle to a hiking trail. As we pulled into the parking lot, it got stuck in neutral and wouldn't shift out (The same symptoms from before). Luckily, we were able to stop and push it into a parking space. We were stuck for several hours trying to diagnose what happened. We nearly called a towing service and scrapped the whole trip but my stepdad was able to fix it enough to get us home (Temporarily). We had our parents follow us home the next morning. We brought it in to fix this issue and they charged us 4k and didn't fix it. Even a casual mechanic found the problem when Aamco couldn't. Even if it was an unrelated issue, Aamco had to have either seen the issue and done nothing, or didn't realize the issue and fixed something else entirely. This is unacceptable.

***** started making a whining noise so I took it to Aamco and they listened to it and said they diagnostic for *********************************************** back and said the whole transmission needed to be rebuilt so I reluctantly once again agreed when they said they had it taken apart I went down there because I wanted to see the failed Parts but then they told me oh we don't have the transmission we send it somewhere else to do but they showed me a picture of a transmission filter and said because of this we know it has to be rebuilt I'm like okay whatever so I get the truck back and it still making the same exact noise only now they're saying oh that's normal but before it was bad. $7,800 I'm out and my truck is still making the same noise.the transmission is working perfectly just like it did before. they told me they were going to put all upgraded parts and the transmission is not shifting any differently than it ever did. Not that I'm complaining about the way it shifts. I very seriously doubt they did what they charged me for. I am also a mechanic. This whole deal is very shady. I have the form for small claims, thought I'd try this first. Thank you for your time. If you need my truck to do an inspection just tell me when and where

This May I had my car repaired at AAMCO Transmissions located in Washington, **. The transmission needed to be completed gutted and replaced. It was a repair that cost me $3,788.76 which I paid in full. A couple days after the repair I noticed that it was leaking pink fluid, I wasn't sure if it was the reason my oil change light came on or if it was transmission fluid. So I brought it back in and learned it was transmission fluid from a pipe they nicked during the repair. They repaired for free, so no problem so far...but they didn't change the oil like I wanted. Just means I brought it to another place (**************** located in **********, **) for the oil change. However, the new mechanic reports that there are the following issues:SEVERE rusting of the frame rail on the left side Damage to exhaust pipe, gaskets, and O2 sensor Damage to the inner tie rode end Inner bumper rust Oil change ($60)So in addition to the oil change, I need an estimated $1200 additional dollars to have my car pass state inspection this month. I was not informed that my car was in such terrible condition is is no longer legal to drive. The mechanics would have been in and around my vehicle for the initial diagnosis, transmission replacement, and the secondary repair and yet they failed to mention such critical issues. I would have NEVER replaced my transmission if I had been informed of the vehicle's condition. If I had known it was in no condition to pass all the required state inspections, I would have just scrapped the vehicle.I reached a couple weeks ago to AAMCO and got no response so far. I understand that I gave the go ahead on the repair but I was also led to believe that was all the vehicle needed. For this reason I would like some compensation. Specifically, I would like enough to cover the repair required to make my vehicle legally usable.

I took my truck into the *********** AAMCO to have transmission oil and filter changed. I was told the squealing was coming from a small bolt in between the transmission and engine block, which needed to be replaced immediately, which also required some more expensive work and that would fix the problem. They mechanics kept my truck for a few days, and kept telling me it wasn't ready for pick up and kept it a few more days. My truck is now stalling, like it wants to misfire and hesitats to change gears, and leaks oil. The transmission is not fixed and I spent tons of money for a bigger issue.

I took my car in to have transmission service, but was told that the reason it seem like I had transmission problem was that my car was misfiring and I needed to have some more expensive work and that would fix the problem. They kept my car for almost two weeks and everytime I called and asked when will my car be ready, I was lied too. I was even told that they had too cars to work on and that I just would have to wait until they get to it. The service writer talked as if it didn't matter to him at all whether my car was fixed or not. My car is still doing the same thing, like I said earlier I was told that if they did the service it would fixed the problem. The problem is not fixed and I am out of a lot of money.
