Summit Horizon contacted me regarding a federal student loan forgiveness plan. They knew my personal information and had me log in to my account then they changed my password. They said if I agreed to pay them $300 per month for 6 months and $49 for 120 months I could be forgiven for all but $13,000. My loans were forgiven by the government, because I work for a non-profit and my loans were over 25 years old. That had nothing to do with Summit Horizon! I had no way to reach them and the numbers I found would never get me through to speak to anyone. Two months in a row they called me to get a payment. Then, it started being deducted automatically without my consent. To date, they have continued to take $300/month from my account for a total of $1800. I cannot issue a stop-payment but have to cancel my debit card! I actually thought they were a legitimate company and would stop when they saw my loans were already forgiven. I hoped they would even refund my payments. I no longer think that after seeing these reviews.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: The response doesn’t satisfy my request for my money to be refunded or them to stop taking funds from my account. I understood what was explained to me. However, my student loans have been forgiven. There is no reason at all for them to be taking anything or keeping anything.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ******

This company contacted me about student loan forgiveness. I looked into the company to make sure it wasnt a scam. they ASSURED me over and over that i would only have to pay them $800 and they would do something that would wipe away my student loans based on some low income thing. Well I paid them $800 and my student loans are still there. I either want them to wipe my student loan debt like they told me they would do 100% and even called me and told me I was approved for. OR GIVE ME BACK MY $800 immediately

This business is relentless. They constantly call me about refinancing student loans. They call incessantly, 3 to 4 times daily, even after I’ve told them, repeatedly, to but me on the “do not call list”. What’s worse is, that they use local area codes so I cannot block them and I think it may be family as my parents are in care facilities. It’s stressful to answer a call at 9pm thinking it may be the care facility. I cannot, not answer in fear that it just maybe.

Got a call *** *, 2013 BOTH AT 10:33 AM AND THEN RETURN CALL AT 1:49 PM saying my loans were being decreased from $51K to $7K, agent name Shank Wilson with phone number ###-###-####. I asked if he worked for the federal govt. and he said he worked with the Dept of Education forgiveness program. He already knew all of my contact and personal info incl SSN. He asked me security questions. He made me sign a an online form via ******** doc that I later noticed was actually a Limited Power of Attorney form from ******** ********* ********* ********* I later saw emails in my acct. from Dept of Ed. indicating my account was locked. I stupidly gave my debit card info but immediately blocked the card and change all my passwords, filed a credit block with ********* when I realized this was not the Dept of Ed. He said he could give me a payment plan of 8 months at $187.05 and then $45 a month for 120 months. I was also told if I paid $1500 now it would then go to $19 a month. He told me I had to decide and pay today but agree to wait until the 8th when I told him I don['t have any money now. There is no record through my bank of any transactions in my account. Emails have come from [email protected] asking me for paystubs, a copy of my driver's license, which I did not provide (although I did confirm my Driver's license ID verbally during the call)

Hello, I was scammed out of $600. The company stated that they would help me with my student loans. I have never received any documentation, nor did I sign any paperwork. I contacted my banking institution and they were unable to help. Please help me with this situation. I do believe that they have scammed me and never had permission to take funds from my account. I looked up their website and found that I am not the only one they have done this to. Thank you ****** ******* *** ***** ****** ******* ** *****

Today I spoke with Summit Horizon on the phone at length about loan forgiveness. They assured me that the department of education was taking over my loan and I was receiving $20000 in loan forgiveness. They gave me a new user name and password and said my loan would now be due the **** of the month and they withdrew it from the account. I was expecting to see US dept of education. I was surprised to see summit horizon on the transaction history and when I tried to log into the student loan website with the user login/password I was given. It didn't work. And they deducted the initial payment twice.

I was contacted by phone by a company claiming to be working with the federal student aid office stating that they could help me through the application process for the ************ loan forgiveness. They had much of my personal information, which led me to believe that they were working directly with this department. They outlined a payment plan that they claimed would guarantee me forgiveness for a significant portion of my loan if the initial payments were made. They did not say that the payment amount was for their services, not directly going to the DOE and I was misled into signing a contract with them. I have been charged the first amount but do not wish to continue business with them and now they are unresponsive and unreachable by phone. I would like a refund and for this contract to be nullified, but I also hope to flag this company as a scam so that future students don't get misled like I was.

In December 2021 I was contacted by a student loan forgiveness program and was set up with a student loan forgiveness plan. I was told that I would be paying $300 a month for the first 4 months and then after that it would be $267.17 a month for 10 years and then the rest of my loans would be forgiven. On Dec *** 2021 I received an email from them saying that they were working on my student loan file and that they needed my last two pay stubs and a picture of my drivers license. The first $300 was taken out of my account on December *** 2021 as well. On Jan *** 2022 I received a text message from Mark ****** who was the person who I had originally talked to on the phone and set up the loan forgiveness plan. Mark informed me via text that my second payment of $300 had gone through and that I would be getting documents in the mail shortly. He stated that my file had successfully been processed by the Dept of Education. I responded to him with a picture of a letter I received from the DOE stating that my request for loan forgiveness had been denied because I was still in grad school. He responded stating ******* Servicing denied it because they are no longer a part of the DOE. On ****** I was looking in my student loan account and noticed that no payments had been made since before December 2021. I checked my bank account and saw that $300 had been taken out of my account every month from Dec 2021 to April 2022. I called Summit Horizons and complained. The woman I talked to said I would not be able to get my money back most likely but that someone would call to talk to me about options. I do not believe that I will actually get a call from them and I'm very concerned about the money that was taken out of my account and not applied to my student loans.
