Took my wife’s 2016 jeep wrangler to mountain valley motors in blue ridge for them to put lifters that were under warranty because they said they were bad again and to have the cranking issue fixed because it would take 30 seconds to crank. They called me a couple days later And said they drove it into their shop and that it wouldn’t crank told me the problem was the tip ‘em they said the part and the labor would cost $1200 so we told them to do it. They called me back and said the tipem that they got in was bad and that they would have to order another one. Her car was there for almost 4 months. They called and told us to come pick it up when we got there. They asked us if we wanted to go crank it, so we did it cranked fine, but it still rattled and they told me they didn’t know what the rattle was but they cut the bill in half instead of $1244. It was 622. We paid them and left when we got home. We realized the windshield wipers don’t work now and the jeep still does it crank like it supposed to it takes 30 to 40 seconds and still has a rattle I called customer care and they said there’s nothing they can do about it. They can refer me to another dealership but I have to pay out-of-pocket to get it fixed that they were not responsible .

To whom it may concern, In response to Mr. ******* complaint. Mr. ******* did bring his 2016 Jeep into the dealership back on June 19th 2023 at this time he was advised that the engine noise could be a possible valve problem. He was also advised that it could have possible timing issues and other internal issues. We here at Mountain Valley replaced the tappet, arm, and gasket. When that failed we replaced relay and the module. When Mr. ******* picked up the vehicle he said that there was still a ticking noise in the motor. The vehicle was in fine running condition. Upon pick up and because of the complaint we paid half of Mr. ******* bill of 622 dollars and to my knowledge everything was agreed to until this complaint. We feel as a buisness we have done everything possible to satisfy Mr. *******. If he were not happy at the time of pick up why did he agree to the reduced bill? As for his windsheild wipers none of the work performed had anything to do with that area of the vehicle. We will not be offering any additional monies back to Mr. ******* as the parts alone that were put in his Jeep were 1487.19.

      Thanks, ***** ****

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: when I picked up the vehicle it cranked fine they told me it had an extended crank but that didn’t register until we got home and it done the same thing we took it in for yes they had told me it could be out of time but that didn’t make no sense because we had just had a new timing chain and cam fasers and the mechanic said if it was out of time that the vehicle would crank the same way every time not intermittently I am so disappointed that I was taken advantage of by a dealership that charged me money and didn’t fix anything that’s why they cut the bill in half the only reason I paid the bill was because I had thought that they had fixed the cranking issue and I was dealing with ***** she is a very good person but I can’t believe that they didn’t have the ability to fix my vehicle after 4 months apparently they just want to change parts and say that didn’t fix it let’s make them spend more money it’s just unbelievable to me you work on somebody’s vehicle and didn’t fix anything literally the car is doing the same thing and now the wipers don’t work this sucks they don’t know what is wrong and they are supposed to be the professionals but they definitely aren’t
So I guess my question really is are y’all in the business to work on peoples cars and tell them we’ve put parts on it, but it didn’t fix it and cut the bill in half to make them feel better to spend money and still have same issue makes no sense
      Sincerely,

      ******* *******

I stopped in to purchase a new vehicle. I explained that I was there looking for a vehicle and from Cape Coral Florida where we just got hit from hurricane Ian and we were looking for a place to live in that area. After they appraised my vehicle and agreed on a new vehicle they had me do a credit application. I expressed greatly how I value my credit and I do not want them to send my application to numerous banks to hurt my credit and the sales person assured me they would not. Well the result from my visit was they didn't have an answer from the bank yet because it was late in the afternoon. They would call me as soon as they heard anything. I called them the next afternoon and still no news. When I came back home to Florida from Georgia I started receiving denial letters from banks. Six to be exact. I made copies. They were: US Bank of Cinn, OH,Capital One Plano, TX, Truitt Richmond, VA, Chase Columbus, OH, Northwest Warren, PA, Ally Bank Hartford, CT. Now I stopped into my previous dealership near my home and they told me of the numerous inquiries to my credit and how it impacted my credit score. My score was in the mid 600's then it dropped tremendously into the 500's. Now I have to drive my older vehicle until my score increases. The reason I didn't get the vehicle there I'm assuming the debt to income ratio. In closing I am very displeased and upset on how they lack respect and they should take responsibility with their customers. The place was not very professional looking and that should have been an indication to me that they may not be as honest there.

After reading the complaint sent in from our mutual customer. I reviewed the the customers info from Route One our bank submission website. In her statement she says that it the dealerships inquires that lead to her reduced credit score and that she could no longer get approved because of our submission to the lenders. In fact she already had below average scores and was the reason for her bank declinations. I did speak to the salesperson and the sales manager on duty and both stated that nothing was mentioned in response to the client limiting us to how many banks we could send it to. The fact is we have a signed credit application which allows us to seek bank approval in which we tried to seek bank approval. Unfortunately we could not seek a loan for our mutual customer.

      Thanks.
