My husband purchased a used 2019 ***** Silverado on 5/29/23 from Nissan of Athens. Last week he was driving home from work and the truck completely cut off on him. He pulled over and was able to get it started again. He called Nissan of Athens the next morning and was advised to take it to the closest Chevrolet dealership. He took it to ******************** in *******, ** and they stated that it was the *** (electronic stability control) module and the cost would be around $900, in order to correct the issue. My husband did purchase an extended warranty on the truck, however, this problem is not covered under warranty. He called the Nissan dealership to speak with his salesman and finally received a call back and he told him that he couldn't handle, nor approve covering the cost for the part, but he would have the General Sales Manager (***************) return his call. My husband didn't hear back from him until last Friday, 6/16/23, and he stated that they couldn't cover the cost of the repair. I have tried numerous times to get ***** to call me back and he doesn't. My husband hasn't even had the truck a month and has put less than 300 miles on it. We wouldn't even ask Nissan of Athens to help or cover the cost if it was under $200 or something that could be fixed at a later date. This part literally has to be fixed for the truck to run properly. My husband has now been without a truck for over a week. My family and I have done business with Nissan of Athens for over 10 years, but I feel like we are being ignored after making a purchase from them. This is a major repair for a vehicle and $900 is a lot of money to some people. We feel like they should cover the cost to get the truck running and/or at least offer to cover some of the cost. Once I can get a detailed invoice from the Chevrolet dealership, I will be glad to include that also. We offered that to Nissan, however, they stated that they could be "making up" charges.Initial Complaint

I purchased a new car on 12/23/2022 and because they only give you an Ipad to sign everything, my mom ( who was with me) asked what was added to the invoice, service contracts, etc. *******, the Finance guy said only GAP insurance, which we were okay with. Turns out, he added 2 more service plans. I spoke to him and went back out there on 1/2/2023 to get them canceled. To this day and several phone calls to the dealership and the service contract providers, nothing is being done! All of the people I've dealt with keep asking for something additional every time I call!Initial Complaint

In May of 2022, I went to Nissan of Athens to look at a used car that they'd advertised online, that was around $5,000. I was told by salesman, *************************, that the $5,000 car was not reliable, and I wound up purchasing an $18,000 car (with an added $4,000 unneeded warranty they said I had to get) with a high 28% APR, which I could deal with if I'd had a running car. I put $4,500 down and within 1 week I couldnt drive my car without it stalling on the road and violently shaking, and I could not accelerate, so I had many near accidents. Turns out I had 2 or 3 cylinders in my engine misfiring, which is quite dangerous. My salesmen, and use that term loosely, were ************************* and *********************************. I told them I was a disabled veteran, and to help me get a solid car for me and my 11 year old child, and they proceeded to put me in a dangerous vehicle. I contacted this dealership and asked managers if they could help me fix whatevers going thats preventing me from driving my car, they said I was on my own. Service and Managers told me to take it to ***** ************* didnt sell me this! On top of that the finance manager *********************** up in my face! I was sold the car as is, but I was assured the car was in good condition. TOTAL LIES! Selling a car as is doesnt mean you should be able to sell a heap of un-drivable garbage, while telling people the car is in good condition. I have been almost hit on the road multiple times because my car couldn't accelerate and stalled while driving. Every time I would get gas, the car engine would not start for a while, leaving myself and my child stuck there for a while. I didn't have air conditioning, which didn't matter since I couldn't drive it! I told my bank, and they contacted Nissan, and the managers lied to the bank about my complaints. In September **** replaced the engine, and the car still won't work (same issues/lemon). I am now letting the bank repossess the car, because I can't afford a car that does not work.Initial Complaint

On Jan 23 I went to Nissan Of Athens under the pretense of getting my car traded for a Range Rover they had . After speaking to the sales rep a few times before I made my 45 min journey to the dealership, discussing in detail with him my intentions and also giving him full transparency of my trade, that is, VIN number and all the info needed. He called me assuring me the trade is valuable to them and to carry it and said verbatim "Your Range Rover will be here waiting for you to take home because we are taking your car today in exchange" I quote. With high anticipation I made my way up there with my mom as a back up just in case my credit was not good enough to remain in my monthly budget. On arriving a young man named **** came out to greet me and said I have great news for you, we have pulled out another Range Rover for you that you would prefer. Disappointment struck my nerves as I parked in front of the one I originally came for. I then said to him now with annoyance in my voice that I did not come for that Range Rover as they are not the same. He insisted they were the same, the same engine etc. Unfortunately he was very unfamiliar with the product he was selling and did not do his research. More annoyed I asked the reason for me not being able to get the one I came for. His response was the bank got back to them and told them they were unable to facilitate my proposal. I said to him, why did you not call me and tell me all this before I wasted my time? He said he was told my management just to get her up here. I was further annoyed at this but he was a kind young man so I sat with him and spoke, we discussed numbers on the original Range Rover but I did not sign anything with anyone. My credit was hit terribly by them running it with 3 banks and it also has a pending sale of a vehicle from them. We barely brushed the surface of the numbers re the vehicle. I have called, emailed etc with no response.Initial Complaint

Took my 2017 Nissan altima in to check out check engine light. It shows my transmission is bad and would cost me over ***** to fix. I received a letter in the mail shortly after that I am involved in a class action lawsuit against Nissan that would extend the warranty on my car to have it fixed. Nissan dealership is refusing to fix it and saying I am not qualified for it. That I would already have a extended warranty in place in order to get it fixed.Initial Complaint

Was sold a car without seeing it. Filled out paperwork with understanding that they would tear it up if I wasnt satisfied with car (they assured me that they did this all the time) but when I was not satisfied and told them multiple times that I didnt want it, they said you already signed for it. It had a leak in the floorboard from the a/c and the dealership would not take my calls or call me back. I even know mailed the the general manager and did not get a response. When my husband finally called them about it (he had nothing to do with the purchase and his name is not on the car) they immediately talked to him and offered to correct that problem right away. That problem was the only one fixed and only after my husband called them. Discrimination at its finest. Other issues with car as well. A lot of scratches, paint chips, seal is coming off of drivers side door. And they advertised and listed on the paperwork the incorrect mileage. I have left mags with the general manager, the salesman, the sales manager and two different finance people. No one has ever returned my call. Also the finance person sold me a maintenance plan that he said I had to buy in order to get gap insurance. I found out later that this was not true. I was never told what I was getting for my trade, what I was paying for the car I got l, or that it was being financed for 84 months! The finance person hastily described some things that he had me sign my name on an iPad. He did not go over these numbers. I assumed it wasnt anything important since I hadnt seen the car yet. I assumed that would be discussed after deciding if I was gonna buy it. After seeing it news not impressed but was told to drive it home bring it back in 2 days and they would fix the body damage and then see what I thought. After I drive it home they basically said its yours, you signed the paperwork and you drove it off the lot. As far as body shoddy damage repairs, its a used car was their reply.Initial Complaint

On 6/4/22 I went to Athens Nissan and Was going to buy a used vehicle and talked to salesman ***********************. After picking out a car and them running my credit they said that I would better qualify for 2022 Nissan Altima. got the numbers and I wasn't thrilled. Talked with the finance manager **** and he said he got it better for me which he did lower the monthly payment but the actual price of the car didnt change. It was still more than I wanted to spend monthly for 75 months. I decided to walk away and think about it. Well I decided to do a little more shopping and found the same car at ********** Nissan for $5000 less. I let my salesman know, He came back and said they wanted to earn my business and said that they reduced the car I was looking at by $5000. So when I got back to the dealership on 6/6/22 it was actually $3000 which I decided I was okay with because it was closer to home. Well then I got a sheet with numbers on it and the payment for the same term was only $10 less. They tried making all kinds of excuses and basically said they would not honor a deal with the sales price that the salesman said. I am very upset because I made a special trip to this dealership under false pretenses and that this was a bait and switch tactic. No manager would come talk to me and explain how their number dont add up to the payment they are saying it would be. They never offered any solutions. I have proof of what I was offered and even have pictures of offer sheets that the ******************** did!
